Chapter 278 - Chapter 279: Azik and Bethel's Father-Son Situation

As expected, the next content was the main text of "Gemstone Romance," which briefly summarized the story: Mr. Door was in distress at the start and was saved by a kind-hearted and beautiful girl with a melodious voice. The two fell in love over time, soon promising each other for life and even having an unborn child.

However, during their sweet life together, Duke Amon suddenly appeared and fought fiercely with Mr. Door. After the battle, although Mr. Door defeated Amon, he was severely injured and lost his memory, forgetting the girl. This led to a series of dramatic events caused by memory loss and recovery: mistaken identity, Amon stealing fate to toy with Mr. Door, and the girl losing her memory just as Mr. Door regained his. Klein was dumbfounded by the narrative.

"Did such dramatic literature exist in the Fourth Epoch?" Klein said with difficulty. He now understood why Lynn said the book was mostly fabricated. Judging by the melodramatic nature of this first story, Klein couldn't believe most of it wasn't purely fictional.

The only issue was the many noteworthy details, such as high-sequence abilities of the Apprentice and Marauder pathways, and the girl and Mr. Door's child being named Libert Abraham.

The novel didn't describe Libert Abraham much, only stating that due to Duke Amon, Libert was separated from his parents at birth and was only found by the Abraham family in his teens.

This made Klein look at Lynn. He certainly didn't believe that a dramatic fanfiction's content would be true, but he had to admit that his mind wandered after reading it—perhaps Lynn really lived in the Abraham family under a similar identity back then?

After all, based on the part of Azik's recovered memory, no matter Lynn's true identity, the outside world saw him as Mr. Door's son, Libert Abraham, during that time.

"Don't look at me like that. Although I don't remember much about this, I can assure you Libert Abraham's background wasn't this melodramatic," Lynn said firmly, shaking his head and diverting attention.

"Besides, rather than Libert's gossip, you should look further. There's another piece about Night Emperor Trunsoest and his Sanguine queen. That gossip seems more credible and contains useful knowledge for you…"

"What?" Before Klein could react, Emlyn White perked up, asking, "What gossip? About the Queen?"

No wonder he was so eager. Blood Moon Queen Auernia was a highly respected leader in Sanguine history. She led the Sanguine out of a dark period and reunited the nearly fractured clan after the Ancient Divine War, restoring their glory.

If Night Emperor hadn't fallen, causing Blood Moon Queen Auernia's downfall, she might have gained an esteem among the Sanguine comparable to their progenitor Lilith.

Lynn, however, doubted whether Blood Moon Queen Auernia's downfall had Lilith's involvement.

Although unlikely, Lilith had already detached from the Sanguine and couldn't return easily. In such a scenario, the rise of a Sequence 1 Beauty Goddess leading the Sanguine could be problematic or beneficial for Lilith's future return.

Sequence 1 was not a low rank; if ambitious, one could strive for Sequence 0, potentially becoming Lilith's competitor.

'Additionally, Night Emperor Trunsoest's fall was suspicious, possibly involving the Six Gods, since Trunsoest and Auernia's marriage was endorsed by Them…' Lynn's thoughts wandered as he saw Klein and Emlyn White eagerly read the story of Night Emperor and Blood Moon Queen.

Unlike the melodramatic love story of Bethel, the narrative of Night Emperor and Blood Moon Queen had a warm, everyday tone. It outlined how their political marriage turned into genuine love over time.

Besides romance, it detailed the state of the Trunsoest Empire in the Fourth Epoch, depicting Night Emperor's gradual shift from a puppet of the Six Gods to a sovereign ruler, and how the Sanguine Queen led her people to rise again, aligning with Lynn's knowledge of history. This made him suspect the fanfiction was written by a high-ranking member of the Abraham family, as ordinary members wouldn't know so much.

'I've never met the Night Emperor. After obtaining the Illuminator Characteristic from the Evernight, I plan to visit the Trunsoest Empire. Besides confronting Eternal Blazing Sun, I might meet this model couple…' Lynn pondered silently about his next steps.

'Right, I could also bring Bethel along. Regardless of any Corruption, maintaining humanity is crucial. This trip could help Bethel experience different parts of life.' Lynn's thoughts continued to wander.

'Hmm, maybe I could bring Azik too. To forget his unreliable father, witnessing a father-son bonding trip would be better—one to experience childhood, the other to nurture. Hopefully, Azik won't be too shocked…'

As he pondered, Lynn suddenly looked towards the Angel of Secrets.

The Angel of Secrets raised his eyes at that moment, his gaze meeting Lynn's before shifting discreetly to Klein.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," the Angel of Secrets said with a formal, warm tone.

"Not at all. Have you contacted Mr. Door?" Lynn asked, arms crossed, his tone filled with inquiry, curiosity, and urgency, his acting impeccable in every detail.

Klein also stopped reading about the Night Emperor's gossip and looked at the Angel of Secrets, awaiting his response.

Emlyn, however, remained engrossed in the love story.

"Snap—"

Instead of answering immediately, the Angel of Secrets snapped his fingers. Lynn and Klein noticed their surroundings changing. Despite still being in House at the Unit 32 Verdi Street, Emlyn had vanished.

"What did you do?" Klein asked, frowning.

"Don't worry. I temporarily isolated the Sanguine from us. The following conversation isn't suitable for his ears," the Angel of Secrets said calmly, still mysterious. He smiled at Klein and said,

"I have a commission for Mr. Fool."

"What is it?" Klein asked, puzzled, looking at the angel.

The Angel of Secrets didn't beat around the bush, speaking directly.

"The blood moon curse has ended. One day, Bethel will return to the Abraham family. Before that day comes, I want to commission Mr. Fool to take care of and manage the Abraham family on Bethel's behalf."

TN: I have a suspicion that the majority of the fanfiction with high ranking knowledge was written with the help of Bethel Tbh.
