Lynn imagined Medici standing atop a pile of white bones formed by undead creatures, drinking the Red Priest potion and ascending to Sequence 0 under the watchful eyes of gods who had just finished a bloody battle. For a moment, he felt the urge to paint this scene, but he restrained himself and continued thinking:
"Of course, if the Pale Disaster is really disrupted, it's not necessarily a bad thing. I could let Little Red initiate a revolution for justice. Since I need to promote industrial development to become a god, reforms are almost inevitable with societal progress. Having Little Red ignite this spark is not impossible; it's a backup plan..."
"Anyway, as long as there is enough faith and anchor points, true gods don't really care how ordinary people live. They all have to go to the astral world afterward and don't have much time to manage reality. And in a world with extraordinary abilities, faith never needs to be completely tied to suffering..."
Thinking this, Lynn silently gave himself a thumbs up.
This was just a roughly conceived backup plan. Lynn didn't really expect it to be used. Most likely, Medici's True God ritual would still depend on the God of Death.
Hmm, before that, I should get Azik out. Just a few more times of persuasion... Lynn silently noted this in his little notebook, then his expression became even more subtle.
"Speaking of which, it seems that Medici in the Fifth Epoch has also been led astray by me, not thinking in this direction at all, probably due to inertia of thought... But with his mind, he might figure it out soon." Thinking of this, Lynn couldn't help but blink and muttered to himself, "It would actually be better if he doesn't figure it out, then I could laugh at him mercilessly..."
Medici during the War of the Four Emperors didn't know what his unscrupulous brother was thinking. His blood-red eyes looked at Lynn, slightly raising his chin, and said in a low voice, "So this is a deal?"
"No, it's mutual help between brothers." Lynn snapped back to reality, shook his head, and looked at Medici, saying, "So, are we forming an alliance, Medici?"
Lynn extended his hand to Medici, as always.
Medici stared at him for two seconds, then suddenly laughed and grabbed Lynn's hand, no different from the future.
"Good taste!"
It was unclear whether Medici was praising Lynn or himself.
"Your taste is also excellent." Lynn replied with a smile. In terms of thickness of skin, he feared no one.
After a brief handshake, Lynn threw the Sequence 2 Weather Warlock Characteristics to Medici and sat back in his chair, saying, "Can you directly absorb this Sequence 2 Characteristics in your current state?"
Although the original work had already indicated it wouldn't be a problem, Lynn decided to confirm it.
"Who do you take me for?" Medici glanced at him unhappily, holding the Weather Warlock Characteristics. Without any visible action, the Characteristics suddenly melted into Medici's body like water.
Medici's expression didn't change much, though his lips tightened. It was clear that he wasn't as indifferent as he appeared. However, as a War Angel, Medici's pride didn't allow him to show weakness easily in front of a certain unscrupulous brother.
Lynn quietly watched Medici absorb the Weather Warlock Characteristics, seemingly doing nothing, but in fact, his senses were extended. If any accidents occurred during Medici's absorption process, he would immediately stop the process and reverse time.
For Lynn, this wasn't too difficult. After all, he had already used this power many times today when fighting Alista Tudor and wouldn't mind borrowing a bit more.
Fortunately, Medici was still Medici. The entire absorption process went without a hitch. After fully absorbing the former Sequence 2 Characteristics, Medici's state remained as an evil spirit, but his aura had grown much stronger, restoring some of the vigor familiar to Lynn.
Perhaps I should seek out the Earth Mother. She should be able to help Little Red restore his body. He can't remain an evil spirit forever... As Lynn thought this, he sensed something and turned to look at the corner.
At some point, a blond priest had appeared there. He wore a simple white robe with a silver cross pendant on his chest. His pure golden eyes quietly observed Medici with a sense of compassion.
Just one glance, and Lynn realized who it was.
The former Creator of City of Silver, now the King of Angels, Adam!
Ah, as expected, he appeared out of thin air. I knew Adam couldn't ignore such a big event. No, he probably started paying attention to me since Bethel suddenly had a child...
Lynn thought without surprise, not showing much emotion of shock or fear at the sudden guest. He just looked at Adam, showing a faint smile without much emotion, and said:
"Should I say nice to meet you, or... long time no see?"
To others, this might seem like a random greeting, but both parties understood the underlying meaning.
Hearing this, Adam looked at Lynn, his pure golden eyes devoid of any emotion, and said, "Nice to meet you, Lynn Sotos. I am Adam."
"Or should I call you Libert Abraham?" Adam paused, his tone uncertain, but his expression unchanged.
"Adam!"
Before Lynn could answer, another gritted voice echoed in the underground building. Medici, who had regained the level of Weather Warlock, looked at the Angel of Imagination with a cold expression, his eyes burning with anger.
It wasn't surprising. Medici had never imagined that Adam and Amon, children of the Lord whom he had personally watched grow up, would betray him and help Alista Tudor hunt him.
To be honest, this angered Medici more than being cooked in a pot by Alista Tudor.
Perhaps due to being in the Hunter Pathway, which emphasizes emotional mastery, Medici's emotions seemed stronger than those of ordinary angels.
Although these stronger emotions couldn't sway Medici's choices, they still affected him constantly. That's why he so readily acknowledged Lynn as his brother and felt troubled by betrayal.
"It seems your sanity is well-maintained, Medici." Adam's gaze returned to Medici, his expression still compassionate, but with no emotion in his eyes.
