At this moment, people all over the country were stunned, glued to their TVs, watching the chaotic scenes unfolding on the screen.
No one could have imagined that one day they would witness such a hellish scenario on the news, and it was happening in New York.
At Homelander's command, nearly all of Vought's superheroes began to take action.
Fighting the chaotic crowd and the strange super-powered enemies was far easier than dealing with Homelander's threat. The superheroes, like frightened deer, were terrified of him.
In his furious and maddened state, no one would take Homelander's threats lightly.
Even Polarity, who had lost an arm, was forced to join the fight. He had a son, and if he didn't follow Homelander's orders, he knew Homelander would crush the bones of his entire family.
Compared to Soldier Boy, who had been missing for years, Homelander was now far more capable of exerting pressure on these people.
As a result, superheroes like Ezekiel and others no longer held back. They attacked Cindy and the others with full force, and even Termite, who had been knocked out earlier, dared not play dead anymore.
Previously, they had been cautious about harming the protesting crowds, avoiding unleashing their full powers and intentionally steering clear of the masses.
But now, they couldn't care less. Were the lives of these people worth more than their own? If they didn't eliminate the enemies quickly, Homelander would turn on them.
No one dared to defy Homelander. No one!
"My God, in my entire career, I swear I've never seen anything like this."
On the TV screen, a female correspondent, who was originally covering the protests, had now been pressed into service as a battlefield reporter.
She held a microphone, hiding behind a trash can, her face filled with a complex expression as she watched the mad scenes unfolding in the plaza. She was at a loss for words.
"Homelander has issued orders. It seems they've completely ignored the will of the people. From the moment the fight started, dozens of people have already been injured. If this continues, the casualty count will only rise."
"We still don't know where Soldier Boy came from. His death has always been a mystery. Now it seems this may have been another hoax fabricated by Vought."
"However, we can't confirm that yet. What I do know is that Soldier Boy is here to make Vought pay for their blood debt. Strangely, though, he isn't accompanied by his old team but by a new group of superhumans."
"And Vought has called in heroes like Ezekiel, yet The Seven are still nowhere to be seen. Only Homelander has shown up. According to Vought's previous reports, Homelander and Starlight should have been at Vought Tower, but we haven't seen Starlight. Oh God."
The camera suddenly shook, and in the distance, a massive explosion erupted. The camera even caught a person being thrown into the sky by the powerful blast before crashing back down to the ground.
"The violent conflict is intensifying!"
The female reporter shouted into the microphone, covering her ears.
"A fierce battle has erupted on the ground. I don't know if the police have been alerted to the situation, but this is definitely not a war for ordinary people to be involved in."
"Homelander has gone mad! He's slaughtering civilians! Or rather, he doesn't care about the people's safety at all. This is so crazy, everything—"
Below the camera, the plaza's ground was already covered in blood. The air was filled with the stench of blood and decay. In the moment the two sides clashed, the casualties were already impossible to count.
The superhumans, during their battles, didn't have time to consider the safety of others. Every clash caused horrifying collateral damage.
Cries of agony and screams mixed with the deafening explosions.
As the female reporter's voice was broadcast live across the country, other places quickly became active.
Almost all the superhumans began to take action. They split into factions, some wanting to join Homelander and help Vought, while others sided with Soldier Boy.
Godolkin University, originally founded by Vought to better train superhumans and secretly research various superpowers, was now in chaos.
The once peaceful atmosphere had been shattered after the news coverage, and every student now looked at those around them with suspicious eyes.
One black male student suddenly stood up from his seat, rushing out of the classroom without saying a word. But as soon as he reached the door, he found a large group of classmates already gathered there.
"Anderson, where do you think you're going?"
The tall student at the front blocked his path, frowning and asking.
"Get out of my way, I don't have time to talk to you. Those bastards hurt my dad!"
Ever since Anderson saw his father, Polarity, lose his arm in an explosion, he couldn't sit still. He wanted nothing more than to rush straight to Vought Tower. So when he saw a group of students blocking his way, he naturally lost his temper.
"Don't even think about it, Anderson. You should know what Vought is really like. Soldier Boy will end Homelander. The Seven are a thing of the past," the leader of the group said, not showing any intention of moving aside. His companions stood firm behind him.
Hearing those words, Anderson's face darkened. He slowly raised his head, glaring at the leader and speaking with a cold tone.
"I'll say it again. Move aside."
"I'll say it again: not a chance!" the leader shot back.
Seeing this, Luke, a senior and one of the best students at Godolkin University, quickly ran over, trying to prevent his friend Anderson from clashing with the others.
Luke was known as the 'Golden Boy' and had been regarded as the most likely superhero to surpass Homelander.
However, before Luke could speak, Anderson couldn't hold himself back. He raised his hands, and a terrifying magnetic field instantly spread, causing the surrounding metal to tremble.
"Anderson, no!" Luke shouted from a distance, but it was too late.
The metal railings from the windows in the corridor shot out, slamming toward the students blocking Anderson's way.
Anderson, in his rage, didn't hold back. While most of the students managed to block the metal, some still got injured.
"Move aside! Or I'll—"
Before Anderson could finish his threat, a sudden blast of water hit him, sending him crashing into a wall and leaving a spiderweb of cracks in it.
"I just want to say, Anderson, this is not a personal grudge," the girl who had attacked him said seriously. "Soldier Boy will lead us to establish a new hero organization."
"You—you've never even seen Soldier Boy!" Anderson responded through gritted teeth, struggling to rise.
"But we know how disgusting Homelander is under Vought's leadership!" the girl retorted.
"You don't understand anything!" Anderson shouted, struggling to get up. He reached out with his hand, activating his magnetic powers. A sharp metal rod shot out with a roar, piercing the girl's back and tearing through her chest, blood splattering everywhere.
"No!" Luke yelled, finally reaching Anderson's side. He grabbed Anderson's hand that was still channeling his power.
"What have you done? What are you doing!?"
"I..." Anderson's face trembled, unable to find words for a moment.
"Anderson killed Isha! He's starting a war!" one of the students shouted.
The girl named Isha collapsed, her life extinguished, and the surrounding students immediately went into a frenzy. They couldn't believe what they were seeing, but their eyes soon filled with anger.
"He's just like his trash father—an unfeeling villain!"
"Hey! Everyone, calm down!" Luke quickly stepped forward, blocking the students. His face was full of urgency. "There's a misunderstanding, I promise."
"Believe you?" the leader of the group sneered, looking at Luke with mockery.
It was well-known that Luke, after graduating, would join The Seven, a fact that everyone at Godolkin University was aware of.
The fact that he was speaking up now made his intentions all too clear.
"The Seven's candidate, huh?" The leader smirked and suddenly threw a punch at Luke's face, knocking him several steps back.
That punch acted like a starting signal, and the students swarmed in, trying to kill the two of them. Luke and Anderson's friends couldn't stand idly by, and they joined the fray as well.
In an instant, Godolkin University was engulfed in battle. Nearly all the super-powered students were involved, and if anyone got injured, it would be impossible to stop.
Everyone wanted to kill those who held opposing views. No one could stop the chaos, and the regular teachers could do nothing but hide in their offices, trembling in fear.
Even the super-powered teachers were dragged into the conflict.
Meanwhile, similar scenes were unfolding across the country. The streets of the cities had become battlegrounds for the fighting superhumans.
They unleashed their powers at each other, and the terrifying destruction made the police too afraid to approach. The entire nation was falling into chaos and darkness.
