Mark led the twenty-four iron guards to the stairwell, ignoring the group that had fled upstairs, and charged directly downstairs. The Inferno members on the first floor were staunchly guarding the entrance. Due to their advantageous position, the Reaper gang had failed to break through several times, but they did not anticipate an ambush from behind. Mark and the twenty-four iron guards suddenly struck from their rear, with twenty-five merciless thrusts of their awl-like daggers, instantly dropping dozens of Inferno's first-floor guards.
Liam, outside the door, saw the chaos within Inferno and knew that Mark and his team had broken through. He shouted loudly, "Mark has broken through, brothers of the Reaper gang, follow me and charge in to join Mark."
Under Liam's leadership, the Reaper gang surged into the building. Two hundred Blood Edge members were at the forefront, brandishing their curved swords and slashing at the enemies in their way. Over four hundred Reaper gang members stormed into Inferno's headquarters, turning the entire first floor into a battlefield. The number of fallen Inferno members grew, and of the two hundred guarding the first floor, only fifty to sixty remained standing, surrounded by the Reaper gang.
Seeing the situation on the first floor was under control, Mark grabbed an Inferno member and demanded, "Where is your boss? If you don't tell me the truth, I'll kill you."
"Please don't kill me, I'll tell you, our boss is in the conference room on the third floor," the man said, trembling all over.
Mark casually threw the man to the ground and led the twenty-four iron guards to the third floor. Upon reaching the conference room, he kicked the door open, ready to charge in. His keen intuition, honed by years of training, made him instinctively dodge to the side as two gunshots rang out, sparking on the wall beside the door. Mark quickly retreated upon hearing the gunfire. He hadn't anticipated that Inferno's members were armed. An iron guard whispered, "Mark, what do we do? They have guns."
Mark pondered for a moment, then quietly instructed one of the iron guards, "Go and have prepare several Molotov cocktails; we'll flush them out with fire." The guard nodded and went downstairs. In a short while, Liam arrived on the third floor with a dozen people, each carrying a Molotov cocktail.
Liam approached Mark and said, "Mark, are a dozen Molotov cocktails enough? If not, I can have more made."
Mark smiled and said, "We're not here to start a fire; these will be sufficient." He took one of the Molotov cocktails, lit the gasoline-soaked cloth at the bottle's mouth, and threw it into the conference room.
Inside the conference room, Owen had hoped to keep the Reaper gang at bay with the bodyguards' guns. But his hopes were shattered when a Molotov cocktail flew in. The bottle shattered into countless glass shards upon hitting the ground, sending several bodyguards wielding machetes to the floor with screams, some clutching their faces, others patting out the flames on their bodies. Before they could recover, another Molotov cocktail flew in.
Mark stood by the door, throwing one Molotov cocktail after another, feeling more exhilarated than when he had thrown grenades in the military. With a smug smile on his face, he shouted, "Owen, if you don't come out now, you'll be burned alive."
The people inside the conference room could no longer withstand the onslaught of the flying Molotov cocktails and ran out with their heads in their hands, Owen among them, assisted by several bodyguards.
Those who ran out of the conference room were all pinned to the ground by the Reaper gang. Owen was brought before Mark, who looked at the pale-faced Owen and said gravely, "Boss Owen, I'm sorry, offending the Reaper gang leaves you with only one path: death."
After speaking, Mark gestured, and two iron guards dragged Owen away.
Before dawn, the Reaper gang had all withdrawn from Inferno's headquarters. Mark, with the twenty-four iron guards and two hundred Blood Edge members, returned to City H by car.
Inferno, one of the three major gangs in the north, was annihilated by the Reaper gang in one fell swoop, causing a shock wave through the underworld of Province S. Many smaller gangs in Province S pledged allegiance to the Reaper gang, which for a time became a myth in the northern underworld.
Alex, still in school, heard the good news and immediately drove to Imperial Holdings, where Mark and Hugh were waiting for him in the office.
Alex looked at the battle-worn Mark and said with a smile, "I knew you wouldn't let me down. You should rest first, no need to rush to see me."
Mark looked at Alex with a simple smile and said, "Thank you, young master, for your concern."
"Hugh, send people to take over all of Inferno's businesses and venues. Don't let those things go to waste," Alex said.
Hugh nodded and said to Alex, "Chairman, with our recent large-scale actions, how do we explain to the S Provincial Government and the police?"
"The government and police are not your concern, I'll handle it. Your responsibility is to manage Imperial Holdings and the Reaper gang well. Reorganize the local chapters of the Reaper gang; I don't want any troublemakers," Alex said.
"Yes, Chairman," Hugh replied respectfully.
"Mark, how is the casualty situation for Blood Edge?" Alex asked, looking at Mark.
"Young master, there are no serious injuries, a few dozen have minor injuries. Should we select a group of people from the local chapters and train them with the twenty-four iron guards?"
Alex thought for a moment and said, "Wait until the local chapters are reorganized, then select the people. The local chapters are not completely stable yet."
"Yes, young master," Mark replied crisply.
Alex looked at Mark and Hugh, whose eyes were red from exhaustion, and said with a smile, "You both should go and rest. You didn't close your eyes last night; if you collapse from exhaustion, I, the chairman, will have to take to the field personally."
Mark and Hugh left the office with smiles. Alex was also very happy in his heart to have eliminated Inferno. Although this was expected, his joy was undiminished. The northern underworld was also reshuffled, with Inferno, one of the three major gangs in the north, replaced by the Reaper gang, as Alex moved step by step towards his goal.
Alex stayed at Imperial Holdings until noon and then hurried back to school to have lunch with Kate, which had become his responsibility and duty. If he was a few minutes late, the tender flesh on his waist would suffer.
After the lunch break, Kate came to the school gate to wait for Alex. Her peerless beauty attracted many passers-by, and many male students from the school looked at her back and drooled.
When Alex's sports car appeared in Kate's sight, a coquettish smile immediately appeared on her small face. Everyone around was stunned by Kate's smile, and they finally understood what it meant to have a smile that could captivate a city. It was estimated that if Kate smiled at them, they could faint on the road.
Kate got into Alex's car and deliberately put on a stern face and said, "You're a minute late. What do you think you should do?"
Alex muttered softly, "That's impossible! Your watch has only been worn for a few months, and it's already problematic."
"You're the one with the problem, I'm not talking to you anymore," Kate pouted and turned her head to the car window.
"Haha, Kate, don't pretend to be angry to scare your husband," Alex said with a smile.
"I just want you to coax me," Kate turned her head and said coquettishly.
Alex looked at Kate and said with a smile, "Husband is in a good mood today, and I will agree to all your requests."
"Really? Then when the US dollars are here, you have to go with me to City S to see Rose," Kate said excitedly.
"Okay! I also want to go. My wife really understands me," Alex said with a smile.
