Chapter 77 - Chapter 77:The Haunted House

The ringing of Subham's phone shattered the tranquility of the morning, jolting him awake from his peaceful slumber. With a groan, he fumbled for his phone, blinking blearily at the screen as he answered the call.

"Hello?" he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep.

"Subham, it's me, Ria," came the frantic voice on the other end of the line. "You need to come quick, something's happened tomy freinds and the others!"

Subham's heart leaped into his throat at the urgency in Ria's voice. "What do you mean? What happened?" he demanded, adrenaline coursing through his veins as he listened to Ria's panicked explanation.

"It's the old house on Elm Street," Ria explained, her words tumbling over each other in her haste. "We went to explore it yesterday, and now my friends and the others are missing! I think it's haunted, Subham, we need your help!"

Without a moment's hesitation, Subham sprang into action, rallying his friends and grabbing whatever makeshift ghost-hunting equipment they could scrounge together. With a sense of grim determination, they set out for the old house, its dilapidated façade looming ominously on the horizon.

As they approached the decrepit building, a chill wind whispered through the air, sending shivers down their spines. The once-grand mansion stood cloaked in shadow, its windows boarded up like hollow eyes staring out into the night.

With trembling hands, Subham pushed open the creaking door, the sound echoing through the silent night like a mournful wail. As they stepped into the gloomy interior, a sense of foreboding settled over them like a suffocating blanket.

The group fanned out, their footsteps echoing eerily in the empty corridors as they searched for any sign of their missing friends. But as minutes stretched into hours, their efforts proved fruitless, and a sense of unease settled over them like a palpable weight.

Suddenly, a loud crash shattered the silence, causing Subham and his friends to jump in alarm. Before they could react, they were plunged into darkness, the inky blackness swallowing them whole as they were separated by some unseen force.

Alone and disoriented, Subham stumbled through the oppressive darkness, his heart pounding in his chest as he searched for any sign of his friends. But as he turned a corner, he came face to face with a ghostly apparition, its hollow eyes gleaming with malevolent intent.

With a scream, Subham recoiled in terror, his heart hammering in his chest as the ghost lunged towards him with a blood-curdling shriek. But just as he braced for the worst, the ghost let out an unexpected squeal, its fearsome visage crumbling into a fit of giggles.

Confused and bewildered, Subham watched in disbelief as the ghostly figure dissolved into thin air, leaving behind nothing but a lingering sense of amusement. As he caught his breath, he couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation, his fear giving way to laughter in the face of the unexpected.

Meanwhile, his friends faced their own spectral encounters, each one more absurd than the last. From dancing skeletons to mischievous poltergeists, they navigated the haunted halls with a mixture of terror and hilarity, their bond growing stronger with each shared scare.

Subham's heart raced as he navigated the dark corridors of the supposedly haunted house, his footsteps echoing ominously in the silence. Suddenly, a shadowy figure leaped out from behind a corner, brandishing what appeared to be a ghostly sheet.

"Boo!" the figure shouted, but instead of instilling fear, Subham burst into laughter.

"Nice try, Ankan!" Subham exclaimed, clutching his sides as he doubled over with mirth. "You almost got me there!"

Ankan grinned sheepishly, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "I thought I had you for sure," he admitted, joining in Subham's laughter.

Just then, Saheli's voice echoed from down the hallway. "Guys, I found something!" she called out, her tone a mix of excitement and trepidation.

Curious, Subham and Ankan hurried towards Saheli, who was standing before a dusty old bookshelf, her hands reaching for a mysterious-looking tome.

"What did you find?" Subham asked, his curiosity piqued as he peered over Saheli's shoulder.

Saheli held up the book triumphantly, a mischievous glint in her eye. "The Ultimate Guide to Ghostbusting!" she declared, her voice filled with mock solemnity.

Ankan's eyes widened in mock horror. "Are you telling me we've been battling ghosts without a guidebook this whole time?" he exclaimed, his voice laden with exaggerated dismay.

Subham chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "Looks like we've been winging it," he admitted, his grin widening as he exchanged amused glances with his friends.

But just as they were about to delve into the mysterious tome, a loud crash echoed from the next room, followed by a chorus of startled yelps.

"What was that?" Ankan exclaimed, his eyes widening with alarm as he exchanged worried glances with Subham and Saheli.

Before they could investigate, a figure stumbled into the room, clad in what appeared to be a makeshift ghost costume. But instead of striking fear into their hearts, the figure's clumsy antics sent them into fits of laughter.

"Whoa, watch out for the flying bedsheet!" Subham quipped, ducking out of the way as the figure stumbled past him.

As the laughter subsided and they caught their breath, Subham couldn't help but feel grateful for moments like these, where friendship and laughter triumphed over fear and uncertainty. With his friends by his side, he knew they could face any challenge that came their way, ghostly or otherwise.
