Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Embracing the Call

Subham slowly regained consciousness in a room filled with the scent of herbs and the gentle glow of flickering candles. His body ached, but he found himself lying on a comfortable bed within a grand wooden mansion.

At his side stood the old man from his dreams, his gaze filled with concern. "You're awake," the old man said softly. "You took quite a beating out there. Luckily, my disciple Sam is skilled in the healing arts."

Grateful for Sam's care, Subham nodded weakly as Sam tended to his injuries with skillful hands.

As Subham's strength gradually returned, he noticed a television screen mounted on the wall, broadcasting news of his wanted status for murder. He felt a sinking sensation in his chest, realizing the dire consequences of his actions.

"I'm sorry, my son," the old man, named Vidur, spoke, his voice heavy with regret. "But it seems you are now a fugitive in the eyes of the law. You have nowhere to go."

Subham's heart sank further, weighed down by the gravity of his situation. However, Vidur's next words stirred a sense of purpose within him.

"There are more powerful souls out there," Vidur explained, his expression grave. "And if they were to break free from their confines, it would spell disaster for humanity and your friends."

Subham shuddered at the thought of the souls' potential havoc. He couldn't let that happen, not after witnessing the terror they could unleash.

"What do you propose?" Subham asked, determination creeping into his voice.

Vidur's eyes sparkled with conviction. "I propose that you join me, my son. Together, we can harness your newfound power and use it to protect humanity from the darkness that threatens to consume it."

Subham hesitated, grappling with the weight of the decision before him. Yet, he knew deep down that he couldn't ignore the responsibility that had been thrust upon him.

With a resolute nod, Subham accepted Vidur's proposal. He would become Vidur's disciple, learning the ancient arts under his guidance and becoming a guardian against the encroaching darkness.

And as he came to know his new mentor's disciple, Sam, Subham felt a sense of camaraderie and purpose stir within him. He may have stumbled along the way, but now, he had found a new path to walk. A path illuminated by the light of redemption.
