Ariana’s POV
“It was fine to feel like this,” I told myself repeatedly.
The scorched bloodlust that peeled at my skin was fine to seek pleasure in. I could want the darkness, right?
My greatest stumbling block stood a couple steps away from me reverence for my presence present in his eyes.
I liked that.
I wanted to see how much he could grow to hate me, when his hatred for me would turn his face into something unsightly and ugly, shed the human skin he used to protect himself from the monster he truly was.
Klaus.
“I see you’ve come to finally die.”
I smiled, taking my stance. “No, I’ve come to fulfil a prophesy.” He grew angrier.
Something was coming at me—fast, but I couldn’t see it.
But I felt it, random powerful waves thrumming through my veins, as though a warning of what was coming.
Something stronger.
It intensified with the second.
I couldn’t take any chances, I steadied my sword in front of me.
Its martyr’s could hold off any monsters.
