Ariana’s POV
I couldn’t recognize the academy I’d stayed in and it truly felt as though I was living through an apocalypse of some sort.
There was once a time when I’d walk the streets of the academy and be greeted with hopeful smiles and dreams in the eyes.
Now, the air was harsher and each stare felt like danger—or desolation.
If it weren’t for my sword and Damon, a few of them should’ve attempted an attack.
It was evident no one could be trusted but the pressing question was: who was no one limited to?
I turned to stare at Damon briefly. Perhaps the question could wait another time for its answer.
With each step we took closer to Principal Remus’s office, the clearer and safer it got.
Why did none of the shadows venture towards this place?
It wasn’t hidden nor was it designed to be so, then why exactly?
Moreover I couldn’t trace any stench left behind by those who possessed the powers of that demon inside of them.
