Ariana’s POV
“Before I start with my questions, I want you to know that I’ll gamble with you, Darko.”
As I spoke the words felt bitter, and his increasing smug smile hurt even more.
“I’d be more surprised if you didn’t come,” My determination immediately shrunk, “Once again, Hello Ariana.”
I took a step closer, “Since that’s clear, let’s cut to the chase then, shall we?”
“What made you come to me in a hurry though? I’m curious.”
“I came because of everything that has happened since I stepped into this academy.”
“That’s a little too long, isn’t it?”
“I don’t really think so.”
“Dealing with a situation you have no control of can be exhausting but you need to keep your sanity as you continue. That’s the only thing you have in this decaying prison we live in. Protect it as much as you can.”
I hated that he was right, and that I had nothing to refute his statement.
I was dealing with a lot of unsettled anger and helplessness.
