Although I miss hell, I've come to adapt to my situation and realize that there are other things out of the dark and glorious world I knew.
Humans are also fun beings especially their complex emotions and definitions of morality.
Out there in the real world not this farce, there are no philosophies or religions dictating how to live and I for one find it crazy how they try to impose their perspective on others as universal truths and how they are easily swayed to faith.
A demon believes only in power as power can change any preconceived notion of the world. If I was powerful enough or rather less complacent I won't be in my current situation.
I decided to embrace the human way of life and start a clean slate as that's all I'm able to do aside from wallowing in despair.
I go out tonight dressed in my usual all black and I'm astonished by how beautiful the dark can be when it has it's contrast to highlight it, the little lights in the sky they call stars are amazing and I just sit on a bridge to observe them.
I soon get to realize that I'm not alone when I hear soft breathing besides me.
It's a girl, clothed in a hoodie and a jean, she has short black hair that fall around her face in a fascinating fashion, eyes that twinkle and reflect the city lights, she also has a pair of black- rimmed glasses on, extremely pretty for a human I would say but having had my fair share of succubi, I'm not impressed by her looks but by the fact that she has the courage to come close to me at all.
She's the first human to come in close range to me after my fall other than that old lady who took me in at that time. Poor soul was burnt on a stake for "aiding" a devil.
I wait to see her reaction, she turns and smiles a knowing smile as if she could read my curiosity.
"Hi, I'm Amaya, Maya for short." She says to me.
"I couldn't help but be captivated by the stars from this POV as you were, hope I'm not inconveniencing you."
Although she only said two sentences I could already infer that she was a talkative.
"Do you perhaps not know of me?" I say
as I lean closer so she could get a closer look at my deathly pale skin and my face.
"Are you perhaps popular in these parts?" She asked.
"Well I'm from the upper side of town and besides it's a big city anyway."
She was from the upper side of the city a region where the higher class of society in the city lived, the place I first landed. I couldn't help but be intrigued by this literal dare devil.
"Haven't you heard of the lurker." I ask.
"Yeah that's the reason I came here. I heard of this so called ghoul and I would really love to catch a glimpse of the creature. Most of my friends say they've seen it and that it's an abominable horror. You must be from these parts please enlighten me on it" She said with a sincere and pleading look, I was even more interested and I decided to try something.
"Well the abominable thing you speak of is right beside you."
