Chereads / Ivy's Seduction / Chapter 81 - Hospital

Chapter 81 - Hospital

"She should be okay," a female muffled voice echoed in my throbbing mind.

"Why hasn't she woken up yet?" a less muffled man's voice replied.

"She will," the female's voice came into focus.

I blinked the blur from my eyes to see an office-like ceiling above me. I raised my arm to feel something strange taped to it. I glanced down to see some form of IV in my arm.

 "Ivy!" Tanya exclaimed.

I looked to my right to see Eric gripping my hand and Tanya rubbing my leg. I studied my surroundings to conclude that I was in the hospital.

 "What happened?" I croaked.

Tanya held my cup of water and put the straw in my mouth.

 "I can do that-"

 "Drink!" she ordered.

I gulped down two cups of water before being able to prop myself up.

"Easy," Eric warned as he helped.

 "What happened?" I repeated.

Eric and Tanya nervously looked at one another.

"I remember the fight with Eve," I commented while wracking my foggy brain, "I remember seeing you laying there with blood coming out of your mouth.

Tears began welling up in my eyes as I began to remember. Tanya hugged me tightly.

"I'm okay," she comforted, "You have to do more than push me down a flight of stairs to kill me."

I giggled through my tears, fighting their way up my throat. "What am I doing here, though?"

Both Eric and Tanya's expressions turned remorseful.

"You got hurt," Tanya's voice trembled. She tried to find the words but seemed reluctant to say it.

"You lost your baby," Eric helped.

A coldness washed over me. It was the same feeling I had when I lost my parents. A black hole overtaking my heart.

 Eve.

That dark, slithering voice echoed in the back of my mind.

 She did this.

Anger arose within me. It was my choice to keep this baby or not, not hers. This bitch killed my baby. I don't know how long I was staring at my stomach before Tanya lifted my chin to meet her gaze.

"Are you okay? You weren't responding to us," she said.

 "Where's Eve?" I coldly asked.

They looked at one another, uncertain how to answer me.

"Just tell me," I tried to show remorse.

"She got hurt falling out the window, but only a broken arm. She's banged up from the both of you, but that's all," Eric gritted.

"She's not even hurt." I emotionlessly repeated.

Before they could continue, Zeus entered my room.

 "You're awake," Zeus softly said.

He wanted to speak to me, but not with Tanya and Eric here.

"Would you two mind giving us a minute?" I asked them.

They both looked like they didn't want to leave me. I compassionately looked at the two of them, taking their hands in my own.

 "I'll be okay," I reassured.

"That's what you've said before," Tanya argued.

My grip tightened, "He never hurt me."

With time, they both understood that this needed to happen. When they both left, they sneered at Zeus as if to bring him harm if he went near me. Once he heard the door close, Zeus walked to the foot of my bed, standing there just looking at me.

"I already know," I broke the silence.

Zeus ran his fingers through his hair, revealing his red, swollen eyes. He'd been crying. For who I don't know, but I didn't care. I couldn't find it in my heart to provide compassion or remorse for him.

"I'm sorry," he whispered, looking down at my feet.

"Think you can look me in the eyes and say that?" I coldly replied.

He tried raising his head but shook it and dropped it back down—the nerve.

"You can't look me in the eye after your daughter killed my baby?" I retorted.

He held the railing on my bed with a shaky breath. I saw tears fall silently from his eyes onto my blanket.

"I never thought she'd do something so extreme," he sniffled.

"She's your daughter," I sneered, "Imagine what you would have done."

He finally looked at me, tears welling up, "I never would have let her hurt you had I known."

I placed my right hand on my stomach, and an emptiness consumed me, "I'm leaving with Tanya and Eric. I don't know what I will do if I see Eve. You'll ship all my things back to my home, and I never want to see you or your family again."

A flash of hurt came across his face but was quickly replaced with understanding. He pushed back from my bed and backed away from me.

"I do love you, Ivy," he whispered before leaving.
