Chapter 4 - Dipper

After the party, everyone went off to do their own thing. Wendy and Soos still had to work. Mabel was currently making memories with her friends so she could use them in her new scrapbook. And me? Well, I was exploring the woods, eager to find something new. I'd packed myself a bag, which contained my journal, some snacks, a drink, multiple pens, and a radio. Ford had the matching radio, so I could contact him if anything went wrong, or he could contact me if I'd been gone for too long. "Let's see here..." I muttered, marking my path as I walked so I wouldn't get lost later. A noise echoed around the forest, and it sounded like a screech to me, but an unfamiliar one. I followed the sound, which led me to a small little grove, where an animal I could only ever hope to dream of was resting. The creature in question was long, about the length of two tall trees put together, and had black and white scales that shimmered in the evening sun. It's face was almost completely black, but it's left eye had a patch of white around it, and its eyes were open, revealing two big, round, and beautiful green eyes. I sat down across from it, took out my journal, and a pen, and started drawing the creature on one page. On the other, I wrote down the information about its length. As I studied the creature more closely, I realized it's eyes were changing color every few minutes. I wrote that down, and promise myself to get a key to what the colors meant, if they meant anything at all. Then, it disappeared from my sight for a little while. I added that to the list of powers this thing had. Later, it came back with its food, which seemed to be colorful fruits I'd never seen. Some were round, and a mix of blue and yellow, while others were square, the colors-red, pink, and green-splattered on it like paint would splatter on a painting. I drew them on the next empty page, and gave them some names, also promising myself I'd figure out what they tasted like, if they were posionus, etc. After that, I grabbed my radio, and clicked the button. "Ford, you won't believe this. I found a new creature, and it seems to be enjoying these weird shaped and colorful fruits. Or vegetables, maybe? Hard to tell, but it doesn't seem to mind my presence." A minute of silence passed. "Dipper, that's wonderful! I wish I could see it!" "I've still got to figure out some stuff about the creature and the food. But I'll be back before you know it." "Of course, yes. But be careful. Wouldn't want you to get eaten up, now, would we?" I laughed. "No. I'll be cautious, Ford, I swear it." "Good. Radio me when your headed this way." "I will. Talk soon." I then made my key of the creature, and the fruits affect on it, then filled my bag with some of the fruits, and continued to explore. Before I ran into someone, that was.
