"Just tell me you've fallen in love with that Alpha" Zelda purred teasingly, making Hazel roll her eyes again, this time with a knowing smile.
"You've fallen for him right?" She giggled, needing answers from her friend but Hazel hushed her, telling her to stop saying nonsense. However she couldn't ignore the attraction she felt towards the strange man.
She got lost in thought once again, wondering if he could turn out to be her mate. "Lila?" She called but her crazy wolf wouldn't give a proper response asides groaning.
"Looks like she's really confuse about that man" Hazel sighed within herself.
What if he was her mate? At least she had an assurance that Kieran wasn't her mate and that what she had felt back then, claiming to be their mate bond could probably stem from her stupid attraction to him.
She wasn't even sure if that was enough to answer her confusion because she hasn't been feeling any mate bond recently since her arrival but her attraction to him was still as strong... if not stronger.
She was still wildly attracted to Kieran, that bastard but then there was something about this man, Alpha Xavier that she couldn't ignore.
Lila wasn't helping. She wouldn't say anything about him unless Hazel finds out herself.
Hazel suddenly turns away from Zelda, smiling at the thought of finding someone she was attracted to apart from Kieran after all these years.
"What do you think about him?" Hazel suddenly asked, facing Zelda with a curious look on her face.
"He's obviously nice... and caring and super hot!!! Hazel that guy is fire" she mumbled under her breathe and Hazel couldn't help but laugh heartily.
"He'd make a great mate material" she drawled, winking at Hazel who glared at her again. "I simply asked what you think of him, not for you to impose how great he could turn out as a mate" Hazel said, making a funny face.
"It does sound like you wanted to hear that too, Ma'am" Zelda teased again, drawing a frustrated sigh from Hazel whose cheek was now flushed and pink due to the heat that rose to her face from the thought of having someone like him, who was very different from cold Alpha Kieran as a mate.
"If he turns out to be her mate according to her suspicions about her wolf, Lila who wasn't even certain about her reaction. She hoped things would work out perfectly well between them.
"Yeah... he is kind hearted and cool" she found herself saying before she could stop herself.
"Thank goodness, you admit that out of many things that's already so obvious" came another teasing reply from Zelda.
As if expecting Hazel's retaliation, she stood and rushed off into her bedroom, sticking out her tongue at the fuming and angry Hazel.
"I hate you, Zee" Hazel screamed after her. "I love you more sweetie, so don't take things too slow before another damsel in distress steal him away from you" she yelled back before slamming her door shut.
Hazel laughed shortly, shaking her head gently before heading to her own room, lost in thoughts once again.
Later in the night, Hazel got ready alongside her friend for the ball. Both of them rocking their matching white short gown which was equally slitted at the front, showing off their overly sexy legs that any man could die for. Matching jewelries and shoes designs except that Hazel's was red and Zelda rocked the black one. Their hair was styled differently, with Zelda's short hair pulled back straight and smooth while Hazel's hair was up in a messy bun with two small strands framing her face, and defining a true beauty without trying hard.
Hazel had no makeup on except for the nude lipstick she applied but Zelda on the other hand believed so much in make-up and she'd barely go out without one.
"Goddess, Hazel this thing you call simple would make any man go crazy over you at the ball, trust me" Zelda squealed as her eyes raked over Hazel's entire look from head to her toes.
"You don't look bad yourself" she replied, smiling heartily as to how heavy makeup always seemed to suit her friend perfectly. She had no idea, she was reeking of sexiness.
~~ Silver Hall
"Oh my... Jesus" Zelda exclaimed as she came face to face with the dazzling exterior of the hall. Alpha Xavier's grand ball! With Hazel right behind her.
The surprise was evident in Hazel's eyes as they stared at only the exterior part for more than two minutes.
"Well I guess I wasn't wrong when I said he'd be a good mate material. Hell... this guy is the perfect definition for whatever mate is called in the werewolf world, Haz. A gentle, caring and wealthy mate! What more could you ask for?" She whispered, her eyes skimming through every corners of the building which was glittering with several colors.
"Could I ask for?" Hazel said after realizing the true meaning hidden behind those confession words of her friend.
"Yes you darling, unless you want me to make a move on him" she smiled crazily, showing off her shiny pearls and letting Hazel know that she was dead serious.
The soft uncertain glare that settled in her eyes was all it took to confirm Zelda's suspicions in the end.
"I won't steal him away, milady. You just confirmed my suspicions" Zelda said with a laugh as she gracefully walked towards the grand entrance.
"Whatever! Think whatever you want witch!" Hazel pouted behind her as she walked to catch up with her.
The door opened automatically and they strode in gracefully, Hazel flipped her hair unconsciously as her eyes scanned the room quickly to find some empty space.
She found one and headed straight up with her friend. One guy tried to touch her but even without looking back to see his protruding hand she could have sworn that she saw the look of hunger that he shot through the eyes he gave her. So she warned him off with a glare before his filthy hands could get itself on her skin.
"Wrong number" Zelda muttered from behind, her gaze shooting holes into his soul.
They stopped in front of the bartender and ordered two cups of beer. They didn't have to pay, so they headed to the nearby table to sit. "This is exactly what I call heaven, Hazel" Zelda mumbled, sipping from her cup while earning a genuine smile from Hazel.
"It's not as comfortable as I imagined" Hazel retorted, also sipping from her cup.
"You just got here, darling. Find yourself a partner and enjoy the night" Zelda muttered aloud before blending into the crowd, leaving Hazel to her luck.
Her eyes roamed the busy crowd, her eyes catching several vague scenes that made her shift in her seat uncomfortably.
Her eyes caught a familiar figure from another end of the hall and she didn't anyone to tell her it was Kieran, the last man she wanted to see, especially not here.
Their eyes met and she broke the contact and stood up quickly, only to bump into a hard chest behind her. Glancing up, she realized it was Alpha Xavier.
"Hey, beauty" came Xavier's deep voice behind her, sending a strange excitement down her spine. She sighed inwardly, cursing him for making her consider reciprocating his advances on her.
