"We were school mates" He started. "I was two classes ahead of her, she called me her school father. Her classmates always bullied her so I was like her refuge. She confessed love to me on the day I graduated and that promoted our friendship, she became my girlfriend friend that day too. After graduating we were still meeting, she visited my place often, my parents were aware of the relationship, but I made them believe we were doing nothing. She brought the news of her pregnancy a week before her graduation. That same day I planned telling her about my upcoming relocation,that was: traveling abroad to further my education, my parents had told me that earlier but I kept it from her cause I knew she wouldn't like the news." He paused and coughed
"Story that touches the heart, even if you had to be away, why couldn't you take responsibility of the baby she was carrying? I asked
"Cause I couldn't tell my parents, it would have stopped me from leaving the country. I and my parents had already agreed that I will come back after my studies to marry her. If they heard of the pregnancy, then I would have to stay back to father the child and miss my opportunity to study abroad. But sincerely I loved her and wished to get marry to her."
" Then came Lily who spoilt things for you right?
"No it wasn't your fault, I'm sorry"
"You didn't even think of another better way to hide the news from your parents than to abort me"
"Im so sorry Lily and I've been regretting my actions."
"Pls Lily forgive us, please" Mrs Vanessa pleaded
"So what did your parents say when you decided to marry Mrs Vanessa". They both exchanged glances.
"I told a lie, I told them that Susan had settled with someone else. It was hard to convince them, They just had to give us marriage blessings since it was my decision."
"I'm sorry too Lily, he told me about his past but I wasn't giving it much attention,I would wave off the discussion anytime he brought it up.All I wanted was to have him as a husband and not going to settle his past issues"
There was a knock on the door. They both dried their faces. Mrs Vanessa went to check the door.
"Susan?"
The visitor came in
"Mom?"
