Why does all of this have to happen to me?

Looking back on his life, Arthur often wondered why this was happening to him. He was just an ordinary person, orphaned at a young age, relying on the house his parents left him to make ends meet with rental income.

He had no great ambitions or high expectations from his life.

His dream was to live out his days like a salted fish, find a wife who wasn't too beautiful but not too plain, and have a daughter who wasn't particularly smart but undeniably cute.

But before any of that could even begin, everything was shattered.

The smoke of World War II still lingered in his mind, and he could still remember the face of the first soldier to die before him.

That soldier had been sent by Colonel Phillips to protect him.

Arthur hadn't planned on dealing with Schmidt or the Tesseract.

But he did what had to be done, even if it meant spending nearly seventy years in the Disassembler Space!

It was nothing, though; he had no special feelings about it.

He could act naturally, living in the 21st century, even if he wasn't the person he was seventy years ago.

The reason he quietly released his information was because he couldn't make a high-profile announcement!

The U.S. didn't acknowledge his existence, and if his existence was discovered by someone with bad intentions, then the outcome could have been unpredictable.

Just consider Hydra, which had infiltrated every level of the U.S., would they let the person who had dealt with Schmidt go?

There was no shortage of Hydra infiltration in the movies, and even SHIELD was filled with Hydra agents.

Was it foolish to approach them in this situation, risking getting caught and hastening their own demise?

Reality is never as simple as anime, comics, or movies make it out to be.

Arthur never expected human nature to be as transparent as crystal!

The most likely scenario wasn't even Hydra; even the U.S. government's attitude toward him was ambiguous at best!

Thus, he could only establish some connection with the past in an obscure way.

Besides the inability to face the changes of seventy years, there was another helplessness that lay beneath the reality.

Later, the note and Pepper gave Arthur a reason to go to Afghanistan.

Banner's appearance gave him the idea of the Perfect Serum that could become his path to improvement.

If he could increase his strength to become fearless, he might be able to live a little more freely...

But when the Tesseract was needed again for experiments, Arthur had an inexplicable premonition in his heart.

As a result, he was thrown into space!

"Can someone tell me why I have to go through all this? Even if I'm freeing myself, this is a bit excessive, isn't it?"

Arthur grabbed his gun and pointed it at the blue-skinned man's head before saying. "I didn't voluntarily end up in your Kyln Maximum Security Prison. Why am I being charged with 'prison break' and absurdly having my sentence declared?"

"Is it a crime not to be able to afford a lawyer?"

Arthur pressed the gun to the blue-skinned man's head and clenched his teeth. "Is money really able to make people do whatever they want?"

"You, you need to calm down!"

The blue-skinned man, sensing Arthur's unstable mental state, hurriedly activated the spaceship at full speed, ignoring his injured hand.

Arthur took a deep breath, but no matter what he did, he couldn't calm down.

He had always tried to live carefully, but reality kept playing tricks on him. If possible, Arthur really wanted to give the whole universe the middle finger and let the damn cosmic will go to hell!

But that wouldn't help...

The ship entered the launch tunnel and accelerated rapidly. As it reached its peak, Arthur saw the stars and the universe!

Surrounding them was a belt of asteroids. When the spaceship emerged, it was positioned in the open space between the asteroids and the prison.

"Head for the nearest wormhole jump point!"

Arthur forced himself to stay calm, holding the gun with one hand as he took deep breaths. "Please don't play games with me at this moment!"

He didn't specify the destination of the jump, fearing that mentioning it would reveal his ignorance of everything around him.

The blue-skinned man immediately navigated to a jump point and headed for Xandar.

Without the intervention of the Nova Corps, Arthur would have to kneel...

"Trust me, I won't!"

The blue-skinned man's eyes darted around, his hand bleeding profusely as he struggled to control the ship's direction.

The ship was moving fast, but Arthur couldn't see anything around him.

Suddenly, the radar lit up with countless red dots. Arthur blinked - pursuit ships?

"Speed up!" Arthur shouted.

"We're already at top speed!"

"Are your driving skills any good?"

"If you think you can do better, then please go ahead!"

The blue-skinned man was now agitated, "Stabbing me with a knife? Yelling at me? What, you think being crazy is impressive?"

"Fuck!"

Arthur's eyes widened. Did this guy really dare to mess with him now? Didn't he realize that Arthur was on the verge of a mental breakdown? Being crazy was impressive, huh?

Arthur's eyes reddened, as he was ready to draw some blood from the blue-skinned man, but before he could make a move, a voice came over the comm system: "Prisoner ahead, please stop the ship immediately and return the warden."

The message was repeated twice. The blue-skinned man was about to reply when Arthur finally lost his last shred of composure and roared, "Your warden is already dead! If you have the guts, come and kill me too!"

With that, he slammed the comm system shut.

He had just watched the blue-skinned man operate it and closed it accordingly.

The blue-skinned man looked at Arthur with a face full of despair, a look of "damn it all" on his face. "What are you doing?!"

"Driving us to death..." Arthur shouted with red eyes.

The blue-skinned man was about to turn on the comm system to explain when the ship suddenly shook twice. A damage report appeared on the screen, showing the locations of the hits!

"Fuck..."

The blue-skinned man was furious. "If you want to risk your own life, fine, but why drag me into it?"

"Speed up..."

Arthur kept shouting.

The blue-skinned man frantically fumbled around in the cockpit and threw a book at Arthur. "Either drive or shut up! We're going to die anyway; who's afraid of whom?"
