Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 - A New Beginning (END)

Years passed since the dust of their family's secrets had settled, and Jay Alden had grown from the boy Helena once knew into the strong-willed and resolute president of Alden Enterprise.

His journey to reach the top had been anything but easy, requiring a fierce resolve to clean up the mess left behind by his father, Marcus Alden.

Marcus's crimes had left deep scars on everyone involved, but Jay's mission to set things right was unwavering.

The board meetings had been grueling, and opposition had been fierce. Marcus's manipulations still held sway in parts of the family business, despite his absence. Yet Jay had a plan.

As he accumulated evidence of Marcus's crimes—embezzlement, illegal trade connections, and backdoor deals with the Black Market—he finally brought everything to light. Once his case was irrefutable, the family had no choice but to let justice take its course.

With a quiet strength, Jay testified against his father in court, watching as Marcus Alden was sentenced to years behind bars.

It was a painful victory, but a necessary one; Marcus's influence on the family, on Jay himself, had always been a weight on his shoulders.

With his father's matter having been resolved, Jay found both freedom and control. He could breathe, knowing that the business could now be reshaped into something ethical, something worth the legacy.

Meanwhile, Selena and Helena had started to chart their own lives as well, no longer held back by their family's dark past.

College had been a time of growth for them, each finally allowing themselves to explore who they were without the looming shadow of the Willis name hanging over their heads.

Helena had flourished academically, finding purpose in her studies and friendships, while Selena took on leadership roles in various clubs, her confidence and charisma finally having room to bloom.

One day, after their graduation, Helena heard surprising news: the owner of the small cafe near their former high school wanted to sell. He was planning to return to his hometown to be with his family.

For Helena, the cafe wasn't just any business. It was a place where memories were forged—a haven of laughter, solace, and connection that had sustained her through the turbulent years of her life.

She had first met Jay there, spent late nights with Selena brainstorming plans, and even shared moments of vulnerability and strength with her closest friends.

The idea of letting it go felt like losing a piece of her past that had helped her grow.

Over a quiet breakfast one morning, she brought up the idea to Selena. "Do you remember the old cafe?"

Helena asked, looking out the window as if picturing it in her mind. "I just… I don't know, I feel like it's a part of us, part of our journey. Wouldn't it be amazing if we could buy it?"

Selena's eyes sparkled as she glanced at her sister. "You know, that actually sounds perfect. I've always imagined us working together in a place like that."

They both laughed at the thought, but the reality set in quickly: neither of them had enough savings to make such a purchase.

That night, Selena thought long and hard. As determined as she was to help Helena bring this dream to life, she knew that asking Jay was the only way they could make it happen.

A few years ago, Selena noticed the relationship development between Jay and Helena, so she knew that with how fond Jay was of Helena, he'll definitely lend a hand.

The next day, she arranged to meet Jay in his office, confident that he would at least hear her out.

"Selena," he greeted her warmly, gesturing for her to take a seat. "What brings you here? It's not often I get to see you in the corporate world."

Selena smiled, feeling a bit out of place in the sleek and modern office. "Jay, I came to talk about Helena, and… a favor. She doesn't know I'm here, but there's something she wants. Something that means a lot to her."

She proceeded to tell him about the cafe and the memories it held for both of them. Jay listened intently, his expression softening.

When Selena finished, Jay leaned back, a thoughtful smile on his face. "You don't have to convince me. I'd love to help you both. Helena's dream… it's something I want to see happen just as much as you do."

With Jay's financial backing, Helena soon found herself the proud owner of the cafe. She had renamed it "Flavorful Cafe," a title that reflected her journey and newfound passion for creating a place of warmth and community.

To her, "Flavorful" represented life in all its complexities—the bitter, the sweet, the unexpected surprises that had led her to where she stood now.

Under her and Selena's care, the cafe became a haven, a place of comfort for students, neighbors, and anyone looking for a moment of respite.

Two years passed, and the cafe had grown into a bustling little business. Helena and Selena were proud of what they had built, especially as they saw familiar faces return day after day.

The cafe had become something of a community landmark, a place where everyone felt welcome.

One evening, Helena decided it was time to meet Jay and settle their accounts.

She invited him to Flavorful, feeling a mixture of excitement and nervousness as she waited for him to arrive. When he finally walked in, his eyes swept over the room with an approving smile.

"This place looks amazing, Helena," he said, his gaze warm as he took in the cozy decor, the soft lighting, and the subtle touches she'd added to make it her own.

"Thanks, Jay. But I asked you here for more than just a tour." She took a deep breath, pulling out an envelope. "This is the money you loaned us. I wanted to pay you back. You made this dream possible, but it's time I stood on my own two feet."

Jay looked at the envelope, then at her, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "You really think I'd take that?" He reached across the table, taking her hand. "Helena, this was never about money. I wanted to support you because I believe in you."

She smiled, her cheeks flushed. "You're too kind, Jay."

"And I have one more proposal, actually." He stood, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small box. Helena's breath caught as he opened it to reveal a simple, elegant ring.

"Helena," he began, his voice steady but his eyes shining with sincerity. "These past years have shown me what really matters. You're more than someone I care about; you're someone I want by my side, through every step of life. Will you marry me?"

Helena was shocked by his sudden proposal, her eyes filled with tears, her hands trembling as she looked at the ring, then back at Jay.

This growing silent cause Jay to be nervous and he thought that if Helena didn't agree, he will kidnap her and went to register their marriage directly.

When he almost can't hold on anymore, Helena answered him "Yes, Jay. I'd love nothing more."

Jay was stunned, joy filled his eyes. He laughed happily and rushed to hug her tightly. Helena was shocked and at the same time returned his hug, feeling content in her heart.

They embraced, the world fading away as they made a promise to each other, their future suddenly feeling brighter and more certain than ever.

Two months later, they stood side by side at their wedding, surrounded by friends and family.

As Helena looked around at the people she loved—Selena standing proudly by her side, Jay's mother with a tearful smile, even friends from the cafe who had become part of their lives—she knew that her journey had come full circle.

From a life overshadowed by the past, Helena had finally stepped into her future, filled with hope, love, and a newfound sense of belonging.

The Willis family history was one of struggles and sacrifices, but Helena, Selena, and Jay had managed to find healing in each other, creating a new legacy to carry forward.

As they celebrated into the night, laughter and love filling the air, Helena knew this was just the beginning of a story they'd continue to write together—a story of resilience, unity, and hope for all that lay ahead.
