At the same time, the man in the silver-black robe reached an isolated area in the small forest behind the palace. Standing in front of a tall tree, he placed his hand on the trunk and inserted his spiritual power into it, chanting a spell in an ancient language. Once the spell was complete, the place where he had placed his hand started to glow, and the man disappeared.
When he opened his eyes, he was in a dark room with only one door. As he walked through the door, the two people sitting behind large computers turned to look at him.
"You are back so early? Did you find something?" Victor, one of the operators, asked in surprise.
The man in the silver-black robe slowly took off his hood, revealing his yellow eyes that sparkled like the sun under the room's light and his long, silky gray hair tied up into a small ponytail. He sat next to Victor and said calmly, "Yes, connect me to the boss now."
Victor nodded and made a call on his computer. The call rang for a long while without anyone answering but just when it was about to be cut off, there was a reply from the other side. "Hello?"
"Boss, Gerbil wants to speak with you."
"Hmm," the person on the other end just hummed in reply.
Victor took off his headphones and passed them to Gerbil, who accepted them.
"What happened, Gerbil? Is everything fine over there?" the person on the other end asked a bit worried as he walked a bit further away from the group of people he was with near a campfire.
"Boss, I think Miss Lia has powers and is not just any normal human girl, as you suspected."
Liam furrowed his eyebrows. "What happened?"
Gerbil recounted everything he had seen and heard in the portal room to Liam "Boss though I did not see her using her powers, the things I heard during their conversations and the way Miss Lea walked through the portal with so much of ease, it's not something a normal human can do".
"Hmm… good job. Continue keeping an eye on things back at the palace and inform me as soon as she is back. And ask Bella to look for her information using the name we have got now."
"Yes, boss." With that, they ended the call. Gerbil relayed Liam's orders to Bella, the other person sitting with Victor and went back to the palace.
"So your real name is Elena, huh…" Liam thought to himself with a small smile on his face "This name sounds even more beautiful than your fake one. Now that I know you are also a dragon warrior I will never let you go away from me.
You are mine… only mine."
"What are you doing, standing and smiling to yourself here?" He was broken out of his thoughts by a familiar voice from behind.
Liam turned to see Rayan, who had walked up to him. "It's Elena…"
"What?" Rayan asked, confused not understanding what Liam was trying to convey.
"Lea's real name is Elena, and she seems to be some princess."
Rayan was shocked. "What? How did you find out"
Liam conveyed all the information he had heard from Gerbil to Rayan.
"So what do you plan to do now? Will you confront her?"
"You really think she'll tell me the truth if I confront her?" Liam scoffed.
"Then what do you plan to do?"
"I need to find some solid evidence first, something that will leave her no choice but to reveal the truth."
"Hmm…"
"But for now keep this information just between us, don't let others know about it"
"Yes" Rayan nodded assuringly.
