A few days pass by just like that and then a week later…
Liam was standing on a balcony, gazing at the town outside the palace gates, when someone walked in his direction. Turning his head, he saw Rayan approaching.
"What are you doing here?" Rayan asked, stopping next to him.
"Just sorting out a few things in my mind... Anyway, what brings you here?" Liam replied, turning back to the scenery below.
"I was on a call with Peter. He said you asked him to find someone."
"So that lazy head is complaining to you instead of doing his work?" Liam said as he walked to a nearby chair and settled down in a carefree manner.
Rayan sighed, moving to the empty chair opposite Liam. "He didn't complain but was scared to speak to you since he couldn't find anything about that person even after searching for a week now."
Liam let out a deep breath and shook his head lightly. "Expected. How could it be so easy..."
"But why did you ask him to check regarding Master Kai Von's disciple all of a sudden? Did you find out something about why that dragon girl is here?"
"No... but the other day, after the fight in the evening, when I was going to Lea's room to give her the dress I bought for her from Dreamweavers, I heard Sapphire address someone as master in the corridor."
"What? She addressed someone here in the palace as master? Who?" Rayan exclaimed in shock.
"Tone your voice down," Liam said, looking around. Once he was sure no one was near, he sighed.
Rayan composed himself and asked again, "So who is it?"
"I don't know. I couldn't see the person as she was standing behind the wall. I could only see her hand when she pulled Sapphire away."
"So this person is a girl? Who do you think it could be?"
"As of now, I only suspect one person."
"Who?"
"Lea."
"What?" Rayan exclaimed in shock again, his eyes widening even more when he heard Liam's next words.
"And I think Aunt Beth and Alisha also know something about this but are hiding it from the others."
"What are you talking about? Why would they do that? I feel you're just overthinking things."
"Just think about the events since Lea came here, and you'll understand what I'm saying. Aunt Beth was so angry at us in the start because she thought we brought a human into our world. Then, after she spoke with Lea, her attitude completely changed, and she changed Lea's room to the second most secure place in the palace. She even asked Master Yi not to go ahead with the blood test, why would she do that?."
Rayan hummed in understanding as Liam continued.
