She after having written the letter she sent away with a sense of impending doom. She was in their room pacing back and forth. But it seemed it wasn't helping. She needed fresh air.
She had practically ran to the garden gasping for fresh air. The feeling inside her only grew and she became even more panicked. She sat down on a bench and bent over trying to steady her breath.
Once she had managed to calm down she convinced herself it would be okay, it had to be okay. Her father wouldn't risk her safety without any care right?
And that had to be the truth, he had always loved her dearly. If it came down to it. He would stop for her. He had to.
When Aileen entered back into the palace she found Diane and Daniel speaking in the hallway. Her things were being carried out and she seemed to be leaving, but she still spoke with a smirk on her face.
Aileen was too far to hear what she was saying to Daniel, but he looked at her with an indifferent expression as Diane reached up to kiss him on the cheek.
With that she gave him a wave and walked towards the main entrance doors.
Daniel sighed, closing his eyes and shaking his head. When he opened them again he saw Aileen standing there with an awkward expression on her face.
Aileen felt as though she had intruded on something private, and to be honest she felt a bit like a fool.
The entire time she was gone on her visit, her mind had floated back to Daniel many times. But he just let his ex-lover kiss him so easily like that.
She gave him a small smile and then began to walk away but he called out her name, stopping her.
"Aileen?"
She turned, plastering a smile onto her face
"Yes your highness"
Daniel frowned as if he had been given something sour.
"Why do you always call me your highness, when I always call you by your name?"
Aileen paused for a moment. "Well I suppose it's because I wasn't sure if you wanted me to call you by your name."
"Well I think it would be less awkward if you would call me by my name rather than addressing me so formally."
Aileen nodded.
Daniel then spoke, " So, have you sent out your letter yet."
Aileen nodded, " It should be reaching him by tomorrow."
Daniel nodded.
Aileen stood there for a few more seconds and then said "if you'll excuse me your hi- Daniel."
Then without giving him time to respond she scurried away.
Before he realized it, he was watching her retreating figure with a smile on his face.
