Chapter 7 - Ch.6

There was now four days until the wedding.

Aileen had wanted to spend more time with Sebastian but she was dragged away for her final dress fitting after all the alterations they had made.

The last fitting she had they were deciding against a sleeveless dress or one that had sleeves, or straps.

Aileen had naturally long nails. And they painted her nails white, before putting a shiny iridescent on them. Then they finished it off with a clear gloss so that they would sparkle just like the rest of her.

After her fitting was finally over. Aileen changed into a blue dress that hugged her figure, it had two thin strapped and had flowers on it that were satin as opposed to the thin stretchy material the rest of the dress was. She wore the same color heels to match. Her hair was wrapped up in a bun with pieces coming out to frame her face.

Mascara, blush, and a lip tint was what she had on today.

A small pearl necklace was around her neck, and pearls in diamond encrusted earrings was her other choice of jewelry. Her stylist had recommended she wear the prince's bracelet since it was blue as well. Aileen hadn't really wanted to, but she didn't want to upset anyone.

As she came down the hallway Daniel appeared at the end as he spoke with an advisor.

He had his head turned, it wasn't until his advisor had spoken that he turned and looked.

"Wow Her highness looks rather lovely today."

Aileen swayed her hips back and forth as she walked.

Daniel found himself to be staring a bit too long, he had even lost his train of thought for a moment. He cleared his throat and then continued on walking and talking with the advisor.

But as Aileen got closer the advisor stepped her way and bowed.

"Your highness, I am Sir grayan."

He grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips.

Aileen shyly smiled. "Ah it's very nice to meet you Sir Grayan, I've heard lots about you."

Aileen refused to meet Daniels eyes. And so he just stood there between his advisor and Aileen on the other side.

She cleared her throat. "Well I should be going, I have a picnic to get to."

The advisor nodded giving her another bow before she headed off.

.....

Aileen reached the lunch she had planned with Sebastian. He wore a normal white shirt and black pants. His black hair curled around his eyes.

When he saw her he smiled and waved.

She waved back.

They sat in the garden, and tiny sandwiches were given to them and fruits as well.

Though Aileen had planned it, she barely ate and just kept picking at her food.

"Aileen? Are you okay?"

She looked over and then nodded.

"I'm fine, it's just a little weird to think that I'm getting married in four days... It's conflicting to know this is about to be my life."

Sebastian knew there wasn't much he could say, because he wasn't the one getting married to a stranger... But he was the one watching the woman he loved get married to a stranger.

He just patted her back.

"Don't worry, me and your parents, and all the people who care about you back at home will support you, and if you ever come back home, we'll be waiting with open arms."

....

After their lunch, Sebastian was busy for the rest of the day, as he acted as a delegate since he was the only other Fire Nation citizen, and could talk to the staff, advisors, and nobles here in the Ice Nation.

Aileen spent most of the afternoon in her room. Waiting for the sun to go down.

But she decided to go down to the library, it was better than being cooped up here and left alone with her thoughts.

She walked down the hall. To the side there was a room the door was cracked open and a yellow light spilled into the dim hallway.

Aileen was about to pass by and then she heard the voice of men talking, and the smell of cigars. She recognized one of the voices as Daniel's.

"So how about it huh? At least they sent you one that's pretty?"

Daniel chuckled. He spoke.

"She's average at best, I've spent time with many women who were easily four times more attractive than she is. I can't believe I'm being forced to marry her."

Aileen felt her face heat up. It was humiliating. He thought she was ugly and he was telling people shamelessly.

But at that moment as Aileen looked into the room, it seemed Daniel looked at the door as well and they made eye-contact.

Aileen gasped and began to walk away.

"If you'll excuse me quickly gentlemen." Daniel said and put out his cigar.

He came out into the hallway and saw Aileen walking away.

"Get back here"

She ignored his words and continued walking.

"Did you not hear what I said? I said stop!"

Aileen knew she was making him angry, but she felt like it would be more humiliating to let him see the tears that were slipping down her face.

She reached the library's doors and slipped in. But not long after Daniel entered in as well.

"Stop I command you to stop."

Aileen whipped around.

"Command Me?!"

Daniel stopped.

Aileen looked away through her tears and scoffed.

"Do you know how humiliating it is to keep being this way around you, it makes me look weak, and I'm not weak. I'm actually pretty strong minded, but you... You are nothing more than a vile human being!"

She shouted at him.

Daniel stood there with the same glower on his face.

"And look at you, look at the way you look at me! Do you think I want to be here!? Do you think I want to marry you?! That this is some scam that has been set up by me and I'm practically foaming at the mouth for a chance with the crown prince Daniel Ibarra? I don't want to be here, it's cold and dreary and bland, and it's NOTHING like back home?! I'm treated like an outsider by you and everyone else!! And you hate me for absolutely no reason, well I hate you too, I may be average, but at least I'm not a selfish bastard!!"

And then she walked past him, hitting him with her shoulder as she did so.

Daniel stood there in silence until the doors slammed shut.

He sighed and covered his face with his hands before walking back out to go and join the men.
