The main idea was to have a protagonist who was a member of a small clan within the Land of Whirlpools before the fall of Uzushiogakure.
Not necessarily part of the Village, but as an allied clan within the country itself, the protagonist's mother would be an Uzumaki to justify the protagonist's large chakra reserves. An alliance through this marriage.
The time is the author's choice, it can be before, during or after the First Shinobi War. The author can decide whether the protagonist will want to save the Uzumaki clan or even start the novel with Uzushiogakure destroyed and the protagonist taking refuge in Konoha.
I personally prefer the protagonist to learn seals from the Uzumaki. But make me a surprise. I think the village was destroyed in the Second Shinobi War.
I believe it would be interesting if the protagonist welcomes the love of his family, you know, I'm tired of seeing novels where the protagonist doesn't have any love for his new parents. This makes no sense, you were reincarnated, but they brought you into the world and took care of you with great affection. At least treat them like uncles you never met but are now taking care of you.
Anyway, about Kekkei Genkai, in general Mirror Release allows the user to manipulate reflective surfaces, such as mirrors and puddles, allowing the user to:
- Using a mirror to see the reflection of another mirror, the distance depends on the user's skill. Can be used for 'teleportation', something similar to the Hiding in Water Technique.
- It can become invisible, the only counters are probably any dojutsu that can see the flow of chakra.
- It can create perfect illusions/mirages, even dojutsu users cannot discern by the flow of chackra alone. I was inspired by Aizen from Bleach.
- It can also affect your enemies' vision and cognitive abilities in other ways. It's a little different from genjutsu. This time it was inspired by Hirako Shinji's shikai from Bleach.
Anyways, I would love for the protagonist's nature to be Water, it would be incredible to see a scene where the protagonist embarrasses the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist in their specialty.
