Chapter 2 - Chapter 2:Loguetown!

A groggy sensation filled Yami's mind as he stirred awake, his body sprawled atop an old building on the outskirts of Loguetown. His first reaction was confusion. The last thing he remembered was being sucked into a portal by that self-proclaimed god, SKM. His breath hitched as his mind caught up with everything that had happened.

Panic set in as he quickly pinched his arm, a sharp sting confirming the unthinkable.

"T-this is real..." he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. His eyes darted around, scanning his surroundings. The building was run-down, but what caught his attention was a treasure chest placed beside a large backpack.

His pulse quickened.

'This must be the devil fruit SKM mentioned!'

Without hesitation, he rushed toward the chest, unlatched it, and peered inside. What greeted him was a bizarre-looking fruit—a green apple-like object, covered in swirling designs resembling grass and stone blocks from Minecraft. A brown stem protruded from the top, completing its strange appearance.

A mix of excitement and nervousness swelled within him as he reached out, his fingers trembling slightly as he lifted the fruit.

'A real devil fruit… in my hands!'

He gulped, bringing the fruit closer to his mouth.

"Here goes nothing," he whispered before taking a bite.

The moment the fruit touched his tongue, his eyes widened in horror.

"Ugh—what the hell is this?!" he gagged, nearly spitting it out. The taste was beyond disgusting. It was bitter, sour, and had a weird chalky texture, making it even worse. It was as if someone had blended rotten fish, spoiled milk, and charcoal into one.

Still, he forced himself to swallow. The moment he did, the fruit in his hand burst into flames, vanishing along with the chest.

Panting slightly from the ordeal, he turned toward the remaining backpack and quickly opened it. Inside, he found stacks of paper money—Berries, his mind supplied—bundles of them. His fingers brushed over the notes.

'One million Berries... This should be enough to get started.'

His eyes then landed on two rolled-up maps labeled Grand Line and New World.

'These are going to be useful.'

Tucked inside was also a neatly folded letter. He pulled it out and unfolded it, quickly scanning its contents.

**"Hi pal, it's me, SKM. Hope you arrived safely. The bag I have given you is your starter kit, with important supplies like a map, some food, and 1 million Berries as starting money for you. Don't waste it!

Anyways, I wrote this letter to inform you of something else—the timeline you are in is one year before Luffy starts his journey.

So, this is goodbye. Hope you do your best in your new life. I will meet you when you die again to have a chat before letting you rest.

P.S. Looking forward to the stories you have to tell me over some drinks."**

Yami's eye twitched as he reread the last line.

'Who the hell casually talks about looking forward to someone dying?'

Letting out a tired sigh, he folded the letter back and placed it in his bag—only to see it vanish into thin air a second later.

Shaking his head, he hoisted the backpack over his shoulder and made his way to the edge of the roof. His breath caught in his throat as he took in the sight before him.

The city stretched far and wide, bustling with life. Streets were lined with merchants selling goods, citizens going about their day, and Marines patrolling the area.

But what made his heart race was the towering execution platform in the distance—the very place where Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, had met his end.

"This is really Loguetown..." Yami whispered in awe.

Excitement surged through him, but he quickly pushed it down.

'Focus. First, I need to get stronger. This town has Smoker, a Logia user. If I mess up, I'm dead. There is no way the world government will leave a lunarian like me alive. They will likely make me a lab rat like King.'

He also remembered that two excellent swords, Sandai Kitetsu and Yubashiri, were located in a shop somewhere in this town.

'Perfect for my future crew...'

His mind raced with plans, but first, he needed to test his Minecraft Minecraft no Mi and train his Haki.

Taking a deep breath, he glanced down at himself and finally realized something shocking.

He was huge.

His body, now 17 feet tall, towered over everything. His hands were large, his limbs packed with dense muscle. His skin was a rich brown, and his silver hair cascaded down his back. But what truly stood out were his massive black wings and the flickering flames on his back. It was a good thing that no one noticed him due to him being in the outskirts of the island.

His eyes, now red with circular orange irises, gleamed in the reflection of a small mirror from his bag. He also somehow knew he was 18 years old.

"…I look like a fallen angel," he muttered.

Strangely, his wings folded behind him instinctively, as if he had been doing it all his life. Pulling a large cloak from his bag, he wrapped it around himself to conceal his more... unique features.

'I stand out too much, even by One Piece standards.'

After descending the building, Yami blended into the bustling streets, well, at least tried to blend in, taking in every sight, sound, and smell. It was surreal to be here, in a world that once existed only on a screen.

He passed by a group of Marines, keeping his head low. The Marines looked a little scared at the towering figure, but once confirming that Yami was not on the wanted list when they matched his face with the bounty posters, they let him go.

Curious about a safe place to train, he casually approached a shopkeeper and asked,

"Hey, do you know any abandoned places around here? I'm looking for a quiet spot to practice some roadside magic tricks."

The man, an elderly vendor selling fruit, scratched his beard while being surprised by the Sheer size of Yami.

"Hmm... well, there's an old warehouse near the docks. Used to belong to a bunch of thugs before Captain Smoker cleaned 'em out."

Yami nodded, thanking him.

'Perfect. A temporary place to train without interruptions.'

He continued walking, taking in the city's layout. The more he observed, the more excited he became.

'This is where the Pirate King's era started. And now, it's where my journey begins.'

Upon reaching the abandoned warehouse, Yami stepped inside and took a look around. Dust coated every surface. Old barrels and tables were scattered across the room.

Sighing, he grabbed a cloth from his bag and wiped off a table and a barrel before sitting down. He pulled out some fruit from his bag and ate while strategizing.

'First, my body. I need to increase my durability, stamina, and strength. Then my devil fruit—I need to learn how to use it properly. For Haki, I'll train Observation and Armament first. Conqueror's will have to wait until I find a more isolated place.'

Finishing his meal, he pushed all the furniture aside, creating an open space in the center of the warehouse. He then closed his eyes and focused.

A floating interface appeared in his mind—an inventory system just like Minecraft.

'This is insane...'

The screen was split into two sections. The taskbar was empty, but the creative mode menu displayed every item available in Minecraft.

Curious, he thought about swords. Instantly, the menu shifted, showing options—Wooden, Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Netherite.

His heart pounded as he selected Diamond Sword.

A blocky, glowing blue sword materialized in his hand.

"It's real..." he breathed, gripping the hilt. It was heavier than expected, but thanks to his Lunarian strength, he could wield it effortlessly. He tested it with a few swings and even accidentally sliced a barrel in half effortlessly without even putting much strength in it.

With a thought, the sword vanished back into his inventory.

A grin spread across his face.

'This... is going to be fun.'

Excited, he experimented with summoning other items—crafting table, enchanted books, diamonds, totems of undying.

But the more he summoned, the weaker he felt.

'So that's the catch... stamina drain.'

Sitting back down, he smirked to himself.

'Guess I'll just have to train harder, then.'
