"Sorry but Mr. Adehesin instructed us that only Hasho and dogs are not allowed to visit him"
Hasho sighed knowing fully well what his father meant. His father who was an S- ranked hunter suddenly fell Ill two years. They said it was effect of the gas he inhaled in one of the dungeons where he went to fight monsters.
Unlike his father, Hasho was just an F- rank hunter with no special abilities or mage power. He couldn't find his quirks while growing up , giving why he was termed the family's black sheep. He was just the opposite of his father who was like a magic God.
"Hasho your eyes are closing, are you okay? " His mother asked after witnessing as he was denied access to see his father.
"Mom" Hasho weeped. " They won't allow me to even see him for the last time?"
His mother hugged him to her chest while stroking his hair.. gently" Hasho. Your father isn't dying just yet. You just have to wait a little longer, I am sure when he gets better he will lift the visit ban he placed on you"
"But... Mom. I am . I am dying.
Hasho opened his eyes for the last time stared at his mom from the hospital bed he was laying on.
"Why Hasho? You don't need to do this. The doctor is on his way"
He smirked. " On his way? Do we have money for such extravagance" Hasho said weakly.
"You think saving your life is an extravagance?"
"Well, father would agree with me"
Just then the door open and some special doctors came in. They handcuffed his hands and legs which was now moving weirdly on the bed like he was about to shift to a monster
Hasho was holding in. His teeth clenched so tightly with his eyes tightly closed, the only thing on his mind was how much he wanted to die.
"Stay with me Hasho. Please" he heard his mother cry painfully from a side.
"Ma'am let him go. The poison has eaten deep in his system and he has no chance for salvation.
"Please... Save my son!"
The doctor decided to try examine again him due to the mother's plea.
" The poison he took wasn't just ordinary and giving his rank, he won't survive it. He won't even have the chance to be Awakened again"
Hasho paused his breath. This was totally not what he planned. "Will my life come to an end here? Only if I could get a second chance. I am sorry mom. I failed you in all aspects "
Hasho breathed his last.
The last ray vanished from his sight and left him in total darkness.
The ECG monitor beside his bed displayed a flat line, indicating his heart had stopped. The doctor, with a solemn expression, turned to the mother.
"Hasho Blake. Seventeen years. Cause of death: Poison. Time of death : 11:11"
*****
When his consciousness returned, Hasho was stunned as he looked around the peak's white surroundings.
"Hello? Is anyone there? What is this place? Afterlife? "
No one answered.
Tears escaped his eyes as he wondered how his family would react especially his poor mother and sister. " Can I see my family or at least my father since he has being hanging between the earth and the after life?"
His voice echoed back to him again and he cried even harder wondering where the hell this place was.
Just as he was still wallowing in his pain, a semi-transparent screen appeared before him. He was so scared that he stumbled backwards.
".. what the hell?!
He stared with his eyes wide opened at the white text on the blue, transparent screen.
Could it be? No way! Legendary system?.
The system suddenly began to type some words to him: You have two options.
1. Accept the system and obey its rules; that way, you will live.
2. Decline the system, and your heart will stop beating in the next five seconds.
"I accept!" Hasho shouted, but nothing changed. He couldn't even hear his own voice, and time was ticking backwards. In the next thre seconds, his heart will stop beating.
How on earth am I supposed to answer then.?
He looked down when his time was 1 second left, he saw the accept button, which he hurriedly clicked.
The system beeped: Welcome to the greatest mage system!
This system is meant to improve the user's level. As for how the system works, the secret and the benefits, you have to Find out yourself.
Another option appeared on the screen which wrote : Explore.
Hasho clicked on it. He nervously wiped his sweaty hands on his clothes as he waited for the rules to come in.
Experience points can be earned with missions and not redeemed with points. You will be given daily tasks; make sure to complete them. Penalty could be worst than death!
That was all he could see. As he was about to click the next button, his consciousness was pulled out of the dimension.
