Camp Upgrade
"Huh another bronze chest..."
Both the increase in residents and the extra reward of a bronze chest came as a surprise to Zach,a surprise that he welcomed with open hands as the last bronze chest he unlocked had brought him fortune. He did not have to worry about grain as he had enough to feed the current population for close to an year.
As for the copper units,he was not even close to depleting them.
"Four kilometers of unexplored land..."
The border expansion allowed Zach to send scavenging parties for resources, materials and spirit herbs. Unlike before where he personally explored the forest,he now had men who could do it for him.
He had already formulated exploration tasks for the guards and residents. He was currently running out of stones and since he had now upgraded to a settlement,he needed to send people to the iron mine.
He also had to send scouts to search for more human establishment and map out the new regions.
There was also the Evergreen Settlement that was still waiting for him to send over five low stage spirit qi gathering realm guards. The guards to be sent over to Evergreen Settlement had already been selected,he was planning on sending one of the guards at mid stage spirit qi gathering realm, and four of the newly recruited bandits, who had broken through into the low stage of spirit qi gathering realm.
Zach pushed everything to the back of his mind,as he accessed his profile,as it was time to name his territory, and also the quest panel to find out the next requirements....
RACE: Human REALM: Foundation Establishment STAGE: Cultivator (High) TERRITORY RANK: Settlement (Established) HP: 100% SPIRIT: 100% > "Let keep it simple..." Zach willed for his name to be used as the territory name. "Now let see the requirements for the next upgrade..." Zach was not surprised surprised by the massive increase of the population requirements,he only had himself to blame,as he was the one that established a peak rank camp. If he had established a low ranked camp, he would only need two hundred residents and twenty guards to upgrade into a village. "Time for some magic..." Zach said as he carried the bronze chest to one of the empty warehouse,he had previously learnt his lesson. After going through the bronze chest gains,Zach was not disappointed,he knew that only the first bronze chest had a high chance of dropping the cultivation manual and techniques. The Warrior's Will cultivation manual,it being a low ranked manual, could only support ones cultivation to the peak stage of foundation establishment realm,he needed a mid rank cultivation manual to help his soldiers break through into the core condensation realm and progress further. The same applied for the martial technique and the movement technique, their boost in strength, defense and agility stagnated at fifty percent at peak stage of foundation establishment realm. Zach could only hope for a quest that would grant him a silver chest,as there was a high chance of him gaining the mid version of the three. Zach toured his settlement, that was now larger and more developed than the two villages that traded with Evergreen Settlement. "With a hundred and twenty-eight additional residents a month,it will take me more than an year for the next upgrade..." Zach thought as he did his calculations,he had already sent Timothy to deliver the new tasks to the lieutenant and the settlement hall. Zach had hired a few experienced people to help in the running and managing of the territory. Though Timothy was good at this,he was only twelve, and now that Zach was planning on spending most of his time in the settlement,he wanted to be there to guide Timothy and the herbalist. These two were going to be his first students. Timothy had expressed interest in formations, he accompanied Zach as he refined materials for the formations, though he could only watch and learn,as only cultivators could make them due to the spirit qi requirement. As for the herbalist, she to had taken in students, they helped her prepare potions for the residents and guards. Zach had let her accompany him during pill refinement,so she could learn from observing, the only thing hindering her from refining spirit pills was her low talent in cultivation. The mood in the settlement the next day was a jovious one,as the administrators at the settlement hall had posted hundreds of new tasks at the settlement notice board. The payment of each of these task was astounding, the lowest paid task was worth ten copper coins, and that was payment for each unit of wood sold to the settlement hall. Zach had also offered to give a fifty percent discount on cabin rent and a welfare package to all those who gave birth within the year. This was to boost the required population, even though by a small margin. Other tasks included the clearing of land for farms, where forty percent of the cleared land would belong to the settlement, while the remaining sixty percent was to be sold to the residents, they would have every right to develop them. This was the first time Zach would be allowing his residents to own private lands.
