Chapter Nine
The Golden Reincarnation Slice
Upon hearing the high-pitched whistle and the loud astonishment of the crowd when looking at Laveil's points, 540 points, Oliver enthusiastically applauded upon seeing Laveil safely exiting with 540 points.
She is now in first place with the highest points. The second contestant, Axellius...
The last contestant, Oliver Elver, The Foe.
The sheikh's eyes expressed astonishment when pronouncing his name. Does the sect leader have another son?
Whispers erupted from the audience upon hearing Oliver's full name. "Oh, how can this be? Wasn't there an announcement that the sect leader gave birth to only one child?"
One of the students replied confidently, "Yes, that's true, but I think it's just rumors that the ruthless sect leader had two children."
Oliver stepped onto the stage, looking at the screen in front of him. It's a very challenging challenge now.
Kaiser took first place in points by a margin of 600 points.
His sister is now in second place with 540 points, and Sky's Blade,
Axellius, is in third place with 530 points. Huda is in fourth place with 500 points. She was puzzled about how she could qualify for the top ten without participating in any battles. Fifth place, 350 points...
Oliver entered the closed arena, examining the surroundings. It's completely closed, with only the lower demon.
A terrifying image of the demon appeared, towering and hunched, with many wounds, but what's more astonishing is his ability to heal quickly from these wounds.
His mutilated skin bears the marks of swords, whips, axes, and fists, resembling indelible battle scars, giving him a more terrifying and ferocious appearance. His ugly eyes gleam with desperate ferocity.
The demon turned his gaze to the approaching human. What is this? The demon's eyes became vacant when looking at Oliver. He is...
"Well, I consider myself a demon too," Oliver looked at his appearance. Is it hideous? No, Oliver didn't feel any disgust at his appearance; it's quite natural and more beautiful than the average human, in his opinion.
Oliver thought to himself, should I try transforming into a demon? Oliver had the ability to transform into a demon or, to put it differently, his second form.
He took off his sect's official uniform, revealing his completely bare white body.
He looked at his pale white abdomen with a black pyramid tattooed on it. All the blackness that characterized his old chaotic form with six closed eyes. This is truly the demon...
Oliver pressed on the tattoo forcefully.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The sound of breaking bones sent shivers down hearts, and the bone exchange made his hand a pile of dough. His stunning appearance was replaced by a pyramid with human flesh. Oliver's two eyes turned into six fully open eyes.
In its dark, abyssal black color, it swallows living souls like a dark abyss with no end. Disgusting, surpassing the demonic form of Oliver.
This concept has transformed into a more ideal entity. Does heaven accept the existence of such beings? What a new and strange feeling! Everything in the arena is now seen from his perspective, the superior and the dominant.
No being can escape his observation, neither hearing nor sight nor even desires. They felt their disappearance or evolved into more ideal things. His power?
It has leaped miles and miles away from its usual transformation. He felt he could shatter dozens of human forms. Oliver felt deeply sorry; his demonic transformation couldn't be applied in ordinary circumstances, and at best, he would be killed. Alright, alright,
Oliver's gaze turned to the lower demon in front of him, and what amazed him was seeing the demon kneeling before him.
"The Highest!! Please lower your strong aura so that humans won't know of your existence," said the lower demon, seeking Oliver's approval. The Highest has plans for disguising among humans and doesn't want this subordinate to ruin them.
The demon spoke quickly again, his empty, desperate eyes now ablaze with intense and fervent flames. "Oh, alright," Oliver's human voice changed to a chaotic one resembling the screech of metal, unpleasant to hear. Oliver looked at the kneeling demon before him. "I want the first place. May I strike you?" "I won't do anything for you without compensation.
Ask for what you want, and I will help within my capabilities," the demon was astonished to hear Oliver's words, before feeling complete joy engulf him; it was like a pie falling from the sky for him. "Of course, the Highest! You can."
The demon cleansed his chaotic aura and became extremely weakened to assure Oliver of the blow. But there's something else that puzzled Oliver; he's now in an extinction form.
Can he perform human techniques? "Alright, let's try the disintegration hand."
The dark, ethereal aura radiated from the pyramid before a hand, carrying thousands of eyes, emerged from it, heading towards the demon.
"Oh no, the Highest!" The demon felt extreme horror; he would die from this attack and spread all his aura while trying to protect himself. Boom!
The demon flew, rolling on the ground from the force of the attack. Oliver felt amazed; his disintegration hand's skill had multiplied its strength tens of times. He didn't intend to hurt him so severely!
He thought one blow would suffice to easily take the first place. "The Highest, I apologize for my extreme weakness," the lower demon staggered from the wounds.
"It will take time for me to recover from these wounds." Oliver felt bad for him. "Alright, ask for anything you want, and I'll help within my limits." "The Highest, the Highest! Are you right?"
The demon's smile rose to an almost splitting level, not caring about the expanding wounds in his body. The lower demon pondered inside before answering hesitantly, "I want a drop of your blood, O Highest." Oliver's eyes became strange. "Just that? Are you sure?"
"Yes, yes, the Highest, just a drop of your blood." Oliver looked deep into his body now in the form of extinction until his blood had undergone transformations from red to dark purple.
"You got what you asked for." Oliver extracted a drop with high concentration from his blood and offered it to the lower demon.
"Thank you, the Highest!" The lower demon shed terrifying red tears from his ugly eyes. He knew his request was too much, but what amazed him more was the Highest's agreement.
Every demon with a higher rank has its own pride. How could he grant a drop of his blood to a lower being than him?! Oliver looked at his overwhelming joy.
"I guess that settles it; there are no debts between us," before returning to his human form. "Ah, I feel a great weakness and suppression in this form," Oliver sighed to himself, feeling he should get used to this weakness. Before turning around and leaving the place...
Oliver looked at the astonished sheikh in front of him. Did he overdo it a little with the power? The sheikh tried to speak, but the words choked in his mouth as he struggled to pronounce,
"Oliver... First place... 3000 points." "What in hell's name?"
All the competitors and the audience felt amazed. 3000 points from a trainee of the second rank? Even his sister Laveil was surprised by the turn of events. Has he been hiding his power from her all these years? Laveil felt her brother had become more mysterious in her eyes.
...
The sheikh looked at the ten contestants in front of him, feeling that this year's competition was more fierce than previous years. The prizes:
- First place: Opportunity for a dignified meeting with the mysterious Origin, a golden reincarnation slice, 1000 green essence beads, the inheritance of a fifth-ranked trainee.
- Second place: A golden reincarnation slice, 500 green essence beads, the inheritance of a fifth-ranked trainee.
- Third place: A golden reincarnation slice, 400 green essence beads, the inheritance of a fifth-ranked trainee.
- Fourth place: A silver reincarnation slice...
Sheikh Yang distributed the prizes to the contestants and then approached the first-place winner, Oliver. His eyes were complex; a trainee from the second rank crushing all genius competitors as expected from the son of the mysterious Origin.
Sheikh Yang handed Oliver a white badge with the Origin's emblem and said,
"You can meet the mysterious Origin through this badge, but as her son, I don't think it will be of great importance to you." Sheikh Yang misunderstood, thinking Oliver was a secret genius nurtured by the sect's leader and wanted to sharpen his talents to grow.
Sheikh Yang also presented Oliver with a mysterious small reincarnation slice and a silver ring containing 1000 green essence beads.
Oliver became curious about what this reincarnation slice was and how he could use it; he decided to ask his sister Laveil about it later.
Sheikh Yang looked at him before handing him a list containing ten inheritances from the fifth rank. "You can choose from them."
