Tsuckos gaze shifted slightly up at the bright orange glow some distance away. Powerful magic like that couldn't be cast by an amateur or even seasoned vet'. Not even Tsucko could cast something that explosive.
[ " That must be him."]
Now there is currently two of the listed members were on this battlefield. The man is dressed in a fitted suit with tactically placed armor. . .General Galleird. His abilities were unknown, but he is regarded as a mid-range combat specialist with exceptional hand-to-hand skills.
The sounds of battle could likely be heard for miles as the invasion took place. Magic being cast caused great explosions, and tense hand-to-hand and blade combat as each party fought to survive. All of it could practically be heard through the fierce combat around them.
The True mages had taken flight using flight magic. Tsucko looked up to see Vulsus shoot overhead. Their target was the Emerald Kingdoms, True mage leader. . .General Neko. Described as possibly the greatest True Mage in over a thousand years.
[" His experience far surpasses any of ours. His mana output can far exceed any of ours as well., and who knows how many different types of magic he can wield...Let alone casts."]
Tsucko had already known all of this. Only he, Kalci, and Thasher knew this information. Tsucko and Kalci chose to keep it quiet to stop any doubt from spreading within General Vulsus's mind. Thasher wanted to, but he realized this war was happening no matter what...He didn't want to break anyone's spirits before entering battle. That way they could all go in with full confidence.
[" Truthfully...I don't think he's going to win. No matter how many True mages we have it won't even compare to one of his."] He was practically sending them to their deaths. They were no more than tools after all, but what would the point be...If these were the best you could get why throw them away? [ " When thrown into unfavorable situations. Humans have no choice but to eventually grow and adapt."]
" Boom Boom Boom!"
A few of the True mages following General Vulsus fired a few blasts down into the circle of enemies surrounding Tsucko. Most of them were dodged or blocked using defensive magic...But it was effective if splitting them up. Tsucko had more room to operate now.
" Boosh!"
Then suddenly one of the Mages's shots landed in front of Tsucko kicking up a large amount of dirt practically forming a wall. . .That was more than likely intentional...Tsucko had shifted his feet and prepared an attack but with the sudden blast, he was forced to jump back.
The circle began to quickly close in around him. Soldiers had magic attacks prepared and were outputting their maximum.
[" The good thing with crowds. No one is going to use magical attacks with a wide range of effects... These guys are fledglings to war. None of them want to commit friendly fire."]
As Tsucko stepped onto his back heel, two enemy soldiers closed in on him swords drawn. Tsucko hadn't noticed them, but their mana control was sloppy. He had sensed their approach. With his free left hand, he snapped his fingers generating a hot blast of flame, like a ring of fire, stopping them in their tracks.
Through the dirt wall, a squadron's worth of soldiers burst through as the wall crumbled to the ground. Again, Tuscko predicted this action. Using his right hand with mana wire already cast he lunged forward.
His mana wire cut through them with ease. Tsucko appeared on the opposite side of where they had attacked, blood dripping from his face. Still with the encouraging word of their General in their minds, they continued the attack.
" Boom Boom!"
Two magical attacks were shot at Tsucko but missed the mark as he evaded them with two quick steps...Just as he thought, these attacks didn't have much mana in them, keeping their explosivity down to avoid friendly fire.
His gaze met that of two middle-aged soldiers. Their eyes met his full of rage as they each charged up another basic attack magic cast. Tsucko evaded a group of 4 soldiers' attack attempts. splitting three of them in half using his wire and burning one to a crisp using his fire.
The two soldiers hovering above unleashed their attacks. The balls of mana were shot at Tsukco who starred at the bright mana. It reflected in his raging blue eyes as they grew closer.
" Feww"
As it got only inches away. Tsucko moved his left hand in an arc-like motion generating a flame shield above his head. As the attack magic got caught in it, it dissipated. The two soldiers fell to the floor with their mouths hung open.
[" I'm glad they're so worried about friendly fire. Limiting the mana they put into their attack magic means I don't have to use defensive magic. I can simply overpower their mana with my own by pouring more mana into my fire magic."]
" Shwip!!"
Tusckos eyes widened as General Gallierd with no regard to the heat from the flame burst through. Tsucko immediately de-cast his mana wire and fire magic out of each of his hands.
[" I can sense it. This guy has poured all his mana into his body."]
Galliard through a punch right for Tsucko's chin which Tsucko narrowly dodged. Flipping away Tsucko attempted to gain more distance.
["This dudes specialty his mid-range combat, but I feel that I would have a better chance in mid-range than close-"]
Before Tsucko could begin to think of a strategy. Gallierd closed the distance and through a short combo of punches. Tuscko poured all his mana into his arms in order to safely block these strikes.
A kick was thrown at his head. Tuskco ducked it but a follow-up kick soon arrived. Blocking that one sent Tsucko sliding off to the right. After stopping Tsucko dashed in.
Galliard seemed slightly surprised by his offensive approach. It had seemed to him that he was superior at this range, but still. . . Tuskco through a slow lazy punch. Galliard dodged and countered with a clean gut punch.
" Gah!"
Tsucko felt the pain as the air exited his body, but this was his goal. His body was reinforced with mana allowing him to take the blow decently well. His right hand began to glow as he reached for the gloved fist of Galliard.
" Tch!" Gallierd perhaps noticed something off. Instead of pulling his fist away like Tuskco had thought. He pushed it in more.
" ARRGH!"
Tsucko let out a frustrated short scream as the pain intensified. Instead of grabbing the fist, he grabbed the wrist with the armor.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Zack, Brandon, Reha, and their squad lead Caldo had just arrived on the battlefield of East Sector Five.
" Caldo was right. The invasion is rather light it seems." Brandon spoke after knocking a soldier to the floor unconscious.
" Yeah...yo-" Zakc replied as he regrouped with Brandon.
" Where is our squad lead anyway...Isn't he, you know? Supposed to lead the squad!?"
Reha cut Zack off mid-sentence. He gave her a sour look in response to that rude gesture. Brandon gave them each a stern look before turning his head in the direction of raging flames being catapulted into the sky.
" He's ahead. . .He said he didn't want to get in our way, and that we didn't need him for something this light."
" . . .Really?" Zack and Reha spoke at the same time. Though a proud look only crossed Zacks's face.
Zacks's eyes then saw movement from behind Brandon. The soldier he had seemed to knock unconscious had got to his feet with a summoned sword still in hand.
" BRA-"
Before he could even finish his sentence Brandon's eyes flipped around and found the soldier mid-swing.
" Thwack!"
Without even moving his arms. The sound of a punch connected to the man's gut sending him to the floor gasping for air. Brandon looked down on him with a disappointed look before turning back around shooting Zack and Reha a confident smile.
" So Brother...Why don't we let our magic fly just this once." Mana began to emit from Brandon's body, but not simply one consistent color, but multiple colors as it swirled around him.
" He. Sure!"
Zack brought his hands out in front of him and interlocked his fingers. That same multi-colored mana began to emit from him as well.
