Elise stared at the piece of paper that was sticking to the counter with vague interest.
"What's so special about it sticking to the side like that? Any elementalist could probably do the same thing."
She was confused why Kurao seemed a bit excited over such a boring reaction, when most beginning elementalist could reproduce the same thing on a larger scale with little effort.
Kurao on the other hand seemed to be ecstatic over it.
'So the book can accomplish something like this with just basic food ingredients. What if I can decipher the pages with the contraptions or the ones relating to mana and the elements.'
He was excited about the possibilities after seeing the weird goo, then the goo itself. Looking through the notebook to see if could test anything else while down here, Elise started to complain about her growling belly.
"Kurao I am hungry! When you said you were coming to the kitchen I thought we were gonna have food, like a cake or some baked foods. Not play around with this gross goop."
Elise said while pointing toward the bowl. Kurao who then felt his belly slightly rumble, felt slightly hungry at the mention of food and also agreed.
Opening his notebook to a recipe that he had wanted to try, he started cooking up something.
"I'll make us something to eat."
Pulling out a pan and putting the bowl away he asked Elise,
"How do you feel about pancakes?"
"I love those!"
After cooking food for the both of them, they took the plate of pancakes out of the kitchen and in to the dining room.
Elise had a delighted face as she started chowing down on the pancakes. While eating she started
raving about the food.
"Wow Kurao these pancakes taste so good, they are even better then what the cooks make! How is that possible?"
Elise said while still stabbing her fork into the pancake. Kurao felt quite satisfied about how the results of the book were producing much better tasting food, and it only made him more hopeful for the secrets within the book.
As they were enjoying the food, a snarky voice interrupted it.
"Oh well if it isn't it the false prodigy."
A blue haired youth walked in while looking down towards Kurao, who instantly got aggravated seeing him.
"What do you want Awoa?"
Awoa walked pretentiously towards the seat across from Kurao and Elise, as he commented.
"What is wrong with me coming to the dining room, which is open to anyone?"
"Well it just doesn't make sense since dinner is still hours away. Unless you are here for a snack, but even then I know you have your own maids to fetch that for you."
Awoa put on a slight disgusted face, as he replied with contempt,
"It is always disgusting the way you look at things, especially people. Especially since you are the youngest person in the palace."
Kurao didn't really react much to his comment but kept his stern tone as he asked again.
"You didn't explain why you are here."
"Why would I need to tell you?"
Kurao just kept staring at Awoa not diverting his eyes practically drilling holes into him with his eyes.
While Awoa just had a smirk planted on his face. After a moment of seeing Kurao stare him down, Awoa laughed,
"Hahaha, You got me. I came to drop by since I knew you were going to be here."
Kurao was confused by the comment and asked.
"Why did you come for me? We aren't on good terms and I don't think you would really come to ask me for anything."
Elise who stopped eating when Awoa arrived was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable with how things have been going, and Awoa decided to comment on this, ignoring Kurao's question.
"Elise I am going to have a private conversation Kurao, so I am gonna have to borrow him for a moment."
Elise was about to stand up in protest, but felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked over to see Kurao shake his head, as he looked over to Awoa.
"Fine tell me here, what is it that you want?"
Awoa replied as his face turned from his smirk to neutral,
"I said a private conversation, lets take this to the study."
Elise this time ignoring Kurao stood up and spoke her mind.
"You can say whatever you want to Kurao in front of me!"
Awoa looked at Kurao and then back at Elise and released a exaggerated sigh.
"Fine, Kurao I wanted to talk about the fact of you losing your ability to use mana recently-"
Elise was shocked at this though and thought Awoa was lying, but as she looked over at Kurao she saw that his face turned a bit, to which she instantly pulled on Kurao asking him.
"WHAT! Did you really lose your ability to use mana Kurao?! How did this happen!"
Kurao on the other hand was a bit startled, not at Elise reaction but the fact Awoa knew of this.
'Even though Mother, Aunt Vayla, Grandfather, and most likely Father know of this, no one else should know of this..'
While Kurao was trying to figure out how Awoa could've figured out how he temporarily lost his powers, he was snapped out of his thinking by Awoa.
"So do you want to talk in private now?"
"Kurao you don't have t-"
Kurao replied cutting off Elise's words.
"What do you want Awoa?"
