POV (Samira)
Today was another ordinary day at the guild, with adventurers coming and going, laughing or arguing about their quests. Although it is boring, most of the time, I would not change my position for that of the other secretaries. Mmm…receiving annoying complaints and those unwanted looks. When can I find a prince in this trolls' den? Hearing a slight commotion, I snapped out of my thoughts and lifted my head from the counter. I soon saw a man walking through the hallway, with porcelain-white skin, delicate features, and long black hair, but what captivated me most were his golden eyes that betrayed no emotion.
"H-h-hello, my name is…
During the conversation they had, she could see that he was a man of few words, nodding his head lightly from time to time. From the way he carries himself, he doesn't seem like one of those pampered young nobles. Still, she was curious as to how someone could have a face that showed no emotion and what could have happened to them.
After finishing all the explanation, she brought the magic scanner to measure a person's attributes and said:
"This is an artifact that allows you to see the rank in which a person is, the age and the elemental affinities that he or she possesses. You must place your finger in the notch, you will feel a slight prick and then it will show a hologram with the mentioned data."
I saw Aethereis place his finger in the notch. As he looked at the device, it began to glow until a hologram materialized...
------------------
[Age:19]
[Rank: 0-star common]
[Affinity: Darkness, Ice]
Seeing the words on the device, Samira couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and amazement. After all, it's not every day you see someone with dual affinities with rare elements; only someone with a powerful bloodline can inherit such items. Furthermore, being of a common rank at the age of nineteen, with that type of affinities….
Samira can't be blamed for thinking this way, since very few people possess dual affinities. A clear example is the first prince of the Skyfall Empire, who was born with three affinities and is rumored to be at the very rare rank at the age of nineteen, surpassing his father, the emperor, who reached the very rare rank at twenty-five. years.
Seeing the surprised face, Aethereis assumed that it had to do with his affinities. After all, if he had a high rank, he would be understandable, but he barely has a humble common rank, which in the grand scheme of things is nothing. Seeing how the other receptionists were giving her curious looks, she decided to cough to avoid attracting more attention than she already had.
"Ahem, ahem, ahem..."
Snapping out of her rambling, Samira watched as Aethereis stared at her and felt embarrassed.
"I'm sorry, you surprised me. It's not very common to see someone with dual affinities, plus yours fall into the category of rare affinities," Samira said.
Aethereis simply nodded with the same blank expression. Since he had already decided to join the guild, he knew that this could happen. Still, apparently, this device seems to have a limit to what it can measure. After all, the system panel shows that he has four affinities; Who knows what this woman's reaction would be if she knew this information?
Samira took out a book from under the counter and said:"Now all you have to do is provide the data with which you will be registered in the guild. This data will be displayed on your adventurer card. Once you reach rank E, you can go to any branch and improve your rank."
"Name?" Samira asked as she wrote in the log book.
"Aethereis," he replied.
"Race?" he asked again.
"Human".
"Profession?"
"Warrior".
Nodding, Samira finished writing everything down in the book and said:
"The cost for registration will be one gold coin. You can wait for your membership card to be given to you in the waiting room."
"I understand," Aetheris said as he handed over a gold coin. Samira took the coin and retreated through a door behind the counter.
Walking towards the waiting room, Aethereis sat on a sofa, looking around he found some pamphlets on a table, interested in its title "Universal Bank" he began to read it, interested in its content.....
The universal bank is one of the hegemonies that is found on all the continents of Oronis and its influence extends to all the planets where Mana lives. Its main function is to establish an economic system that allows your money to have value wherever you are. This is achieved by creating bank accounts where you can deposit and manage your money in an accessible and secure way in all corners of the world or worlds.
By creating a bank account, you will enjoy a number of benefits, including discounts at establishments based on your level of privilege, early access and invitations to auctions organized by the bank, and guaranteed security of the money deposited in your account, even if you are Affiliated with an organization, deposits can go directly to your account without having to be present at a branch of said organization.
Reading about the benefits of opening a bank account, Aethereis considered his long-term options. In-store discounts, access to exclusive auctions and the security of your funds were attractive. He decided to ask Samira about the location of the nearest branch.
As he reflected on his stay in Lunid, he wondered whether he should stay at an inn or rent a house. He knew that he would not stay long in this place and felt that renting a house would give him privacy and a suitable space to study magic.
'I'll need a place to study about magical abilities,' he thought. 'Once I manage to promote to the rare rank I will be able to move more easily.'
While Aethereis pondered his next moves, Samira approached the waiting room with a calm step. In her hands she held a small bag that jingled with the sound of coins colliding and a black card with silver engravings.
Samira stopped in front of Aethereis, offering her the card and the bag with a smile. "Sorry for the wait," Samira said. "Here is your guild membership card and the hundred coins you are entitled to as a member."
Aethereis stood up from his seat and accepted the card and bag, putting them away safely.
"Thank you, Samira," Aethereis said in his usual flat voice. "As you can see I am new in town and I would like to know where I can find the Universal Bank branch and also where I can rent a house for a while."
Samira nodded understandingly and replied, "Of course. The Universal Bank branch is near the city center. Exit the guild headquarters, turn left, and go straight until you see a gray building with dark blue cornices."
"Regarding renting a house, I would recommend visiting the real estate agency located on Grail Street, just south of here. "They have a good selection of properties available."
"I see, thanks for the information. Then it's time for me to go," Aethereis said.
"It was a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Aethereis. Enjoy your stay in town," Samira replied.
