Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Awakening of the Warrior

It's been several years since the impact of the comet. Eldritch is now a city transformed by chaos and fear. The few who survived the first attack are learning to adapt to new threats.

After arrival at the shelter, the world of Eilam and Vorian became one of constant vigilance and combat. Vorian, with his innate bravery, plunged into the struggle against the creatures that ravaged what was left of humanity. Meanwhile, scientists and blacksmiths worked tirelessly, forging new weapons from the remains of fallen beasts.

The firearms were adapted to fire bullets powered by Neo-Synthetic energy, capable of penetrating the hardest exoskeletons. The white weapons were not left behind; swords, knives and spears were forged with unprecedented durability and edge, each vibrating with a latent energy that only young people could feel and awaken.

Children under the age of 25 demonstrated a surprising compatibility with these weapons. By wielding them, they could activate a destructive power that resonated with the frequency of the monsters. This phenomenon led to the creation of the "Reign of The New Dawn Project," an initiative to train young warriors capable of facing threats with supernatural efficacy.

Vorian stood out among his peers, his ability to synchronize with weapons and his prowess in combat made him a key figure in the project. His name became synonymous with hope, and his presence on the battlefield was an omen of victory.

Eilam, on the other hand, was at a crossroads of emotions. Despite his youth, he showed no signs of the special dowry that his brother and the others possessed. He took refuge in the shadows of the shelter, watching with a mixture of admiration and hopelessness as Vorian fought. Fearful and resigned, Eilam became convinced that his role was that of a spectator, unable to join the struggle that defined the existence of his species.

However, fate often has plans that go beyond our perceptions and fears. And for Eilam, the journey was just beginning. A journey that would lead him to discover that courage can manifest in unexpected ways, and that even in a child's heart the flame of a warrior can burn.

The years of struggle had transformed the refuge into a fortress of human endurance. New establishments emerged as mushrooms after the rain, each specialized in a specific need: armories with firearms that fired bullets impregnated with Neo-Synthetic energy, workshops where swords and spears of a supernatural durability were forged, and laboratories where advanced prostheses were designed for those who had sacrificed parts of themselves in battle.

Mutant creatures, enemies of humanity, had diversified into species and subspecies, each more terrifying than the last. Threat ranges were set to classify them:

- Range E: Minor mutants, often more annoying than dangerous.

- D-Range: Aggressive creatures, capable of injuring an unsuspecting human.

- Rank C: Formidable beasts, required a team of warriors to be defeated.

- Rank B: Devastating monsters, they could wipe out an entire settlement.

- Rank A: Nightmare abominations, only skilled and brave warriors dared to face them.

And finally.

-Rango S: Catastrophic entities, they are the embodiment of terror and destruction. These creatures are so powerful and rare that their mere presence can alter the climate and geography of a region. They are capable of annihilating entire armies and their attacks can cause mass extinctions, only the most legendary Zero-rank warriors, those whose names are whispered with reverence and fear, dare to face these abominations.

Eilam Sylastar, now a teenager, was attending classes inside the shelter. The lessons ranged from combat strategies to history and science, all designed to prepare the next generation for an uncertain world. However, Eilam was often at the center of ridicule and criticism. He was not like his brother, Vorian Sylastar, who was already considered a hero among the residents of the shelter.

Eilam's resentment towards Vorian grew every day. The few times he saw his brother, his words were loaded with sarcasm and disdain. "Ah, the great hero returns," shouted Eilam, his voice tinged with bitterness.

Eilam's life at school inside the shelter was a reflection of the society he lived in: structured around survival and combat readiness. Despite being an educational environment, the school had a military approach, where every lesson was permeated by the urgency of the global situation.

Eilam, though intelligent and curious, was often found marginalized due to his lack of visible combat skills. This made him the object of ridicule on the part of some of his colleagues, who did not understand his inner struggle or his pain for constant comparisons with his brother Vorian.

Among his peers, there were several who were already considered future warriors, standing out for their exceptional abilities:

Lysander Gale, Kaela Vex, Torian Strake, Nyx Riven

Among the outstanding students, there was a girl who was not only the flower of the school for her beauty, but also the most talented and admired for her countless qualities. Her name was Aurelia Starhaven. Aurelia possessed a unique combination of intelligence, combat skill and a grace that seemed almost supernatural. Her presence in any room was like a beacon of light, inspiring everyone around her.

Aurelia was known for her mastery of the art of fencing, moving with an elegance that made combat look like a dance. In addition, she had an intuitive understanding of military strategy, which made her a born leader in battle simulations. His ability to connect with mutant weapons was so advanced that some said he could communicate with them, awakening their latent power with just a touch.

Eilam, despite his resentment and inner struggle, couldn't help but be captivated by Aurelia. She represented everything he wanted to be: strong, capable and respected. But it was impossible for him to imagine.

These students, along with others, formed the school's elite, and were expected to lead the next generation of warriors in the struggle for the survival of humanity.

The school also offered an emotional and psychological support program, although Eilam rarely participated. He preferred to spend his time in the library, immersing himself in books that offered him an escape from his reality. However, deep in his being, Eilam was hoping to find his own way and prove that he was not only his brother's shadow, but someone capable of leaving his own mark on the world.

One day, after a physical education class, Eilam was the subject of a cruel joke. While taking a shower, he took off his glasses, without which his world became an indecipherable blur. His colleagues took the opportunity to steal his belongings, leaving him alone and vulnerable. Hours later, he was still searching for his things, unable to find them.

Vorian, worried about his brother's absence, went to school and discovered what had happened. Furious, he wanted to denounce the incident, but Eilam, with tears of frustration, begged him not to do it. "You'll only make things worse!" Eilam shouted.

Vorian shared his clothes with Eilam and together they returned home in silence. Upon arrival, Eilam, consumed with shame and anger, stepped forward to open the door. "You should go on your missions and leave me alone, as usual," said Eilam, his words full of poison.

Vorian, with an expression of sadness, was speechless. At that moment, his communicator sounded: a creature of A-Rank had appeared near the east zone. With a heavy heart, Vorian replied that he would go to investigate, as he looked up, lamenting his brother's words.

Eilam, repentant but unable to express it, fled to his room. Vorian, taking a deep breath, left the house, closing the door behind him. A deep, heavy silence hovered over the Sylastars' home, an echo of the emotional storm that had just been unleashed...
