Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Questioning and Revelations

Aria sat by the window of her bedroom, the soft glow of the setting sun casting long shadows across her room. Her gaze drifted out over the cityscape, but her mind was somewhere entirely, lost in memories she couldn't shake.

"I find myself wondering if what happened that night was real or just a nightmare," she mused aloud, her voice barely above a whisper. Her fingers absentmindedly traced the edges of the coat that lay across her lap— the only tangible link to that fateful evening.

The news had been sparse, as if the world outside her ordeal had moved on without a second thought. Two deaths in a warehouse, and she was the only survivor. But what haunted her, the details that couldn't be explained. The anonymous caller who reported the kidnapping, the boy who vanished without a trace as help arrived, and the surreal battle against the wolf.

"It has been three months since the incident," she continued, her voice tinged with both relief and uncertainty. "The culprits were found dead, and the case is closed. The only witness was nowhere to be found, all evidence were sealed except for the coat. But I can't forget. I can't forget him."

One day, Aria and her mother went to do some shopping while at the same time visiting the Lily Fashion Company's stores. During their escapade, they entered a mall where another one of the stores were. After the visit, Aria excused herself and went to the restrooms. As she went back to join up with her mother, she saw a familiar silhouette in the crowd which had entered the arcade, and she then went after them.

As she entered the arcade, she looked around and then noticed a person who drew all her attention who wore the same headphones as the boy from that night.

"Excuse me," she said, her voice trembling with a mix of apprehension and gratitude as he approached that person and grabbed their sleeve. "You're the boy from the other night, right?"

The young boy turned to face her, his expression guarded yet strangely familiar. Their eyes met, and in that moment, everything Aria doubted became real.

"You, you're the girl the wolf demon was trying to devour." He said, his voice low yet carrying an undeniable weight of truth.

As she heard what he had said, the girl was struck by the reality she doubted before. The events of the night and everything she saw was real. Especially the fight between the wolf demon and the young boy.

"Excuse me but, could you let go? We're attracting unwanted attention." added the young boy.

After leaving the arcade, they went to a café where they talked. "Thank you." Managed Aria, her voice barely a whisper. "Thank you for saving me."

The young boy's demeanor softened slightly, though his caution remained evident. "No problem," he replied quietly. "But if you could please keep quiet about what you saw I'd really appreciate."

"My name is Aria," she introduced herself, trying to break the tension that hung between them. "Aria Whitmore. And you?"

Trevor hesitated for a moment, as if debating how much to reveal. "My name Trevor, Trevor Briar." He finally replied. "But you can call me Trey."

"I'm guessing that you have many questions, right? But if I were to give you some advice, it'd be better to forget all of it. And if you're unable to, I can erase your memories." Said Trey with a serious expression on his face.

"Somewhere I'm scared. I would like all of it to be just a bad dream, but it's not. I also know that living my life as if nothing happened is not what I want. So please tell me about who you are? What you are?" Aria said hesitantly, her curiosity burning brighter than her fear.

Trey sighed, his gaze intense yet distant. "Fine I'll tell you. First things first, I'm not human at least not entirely. I'm a human but at the same time I'm a demon. In other words, I'm a hybrid. A half-human half-demon child born from a demon father and a human mother."

"I see so demons exist, huh?" Aria murmured, with a pale expression on her face, her voice tinged with awe and fear.

Trey nodded solemnly. "Yep, same goes for things such as ghost, spirits, angels even gods. They all live on Earth but live in different planes or dimensions if you want. Most of the time we don't interfere with human affairs. But sometimes…"

Aria interrupted gently, "But sometimes you can't avoid it. Like that night."

Trey met her eyes, a silent acknowledgment passing between them.

"It's dangerous," he warned softly. "You should forget about it, if you can. Live your life like it never happened."

Aria shook her head, determination replacing her initial fear. "I can't," she said firmly. "I need to know. I want to understand."

"Maybe some other time. Seems like it's almost time. Bye-bye." Said Trey with a gentle expression as he stood up.

"Wait a min…" she said trying to keep him from going as someone called her out.

"Young miss. Finally, I found you. The madam has been worried since you took so long to come back." said one of the family guards who came by, as she had turned to face the guard.

When she looked at her side, Trey had already vanished. "He's a demon, huh?" She thought while being escorted back to her mother's side. "But he saved my life. I wonder if we'll meet again."

Meanwhile, in a place veiled in darkness and foreboding, a mysterious figure stood by a window, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light, in the darkness that shrouded his face.

"So, you killed a wolf demon, huh?" he murmured to himself, a cold smile playing at the corners of his lips. "You were always so careful not to use your demonic powers, but now that I finally found you, dear cousin, you shall finally be mine."

The figure's form dissolved into the shadows, leaving behind an eerie silence hung in the air.

And thus, the prologue of their intertwined story began, fate weaving its threads between two worlds—one of ordinary lives and extraordinary beings, where nothing was as it seemed, and everything was possible.
