Kira stared at her computer stumped. She had been on the same problem for the last twenty minutes and every time she thought she had the solution she was lead to a dead end. Kira had even tried googling for the answer, but found nothing. She was close to emailing her chemistry teacher for help, but her pride did not want to admit defeat yet.
She needed a break to refresh her brain. Kira grabbed her belongings and walked out of the lounge area. She headed to a near by coffee shop that was famous for it's latte's and pastries.
Kira ordered her drink before grabbing a table in the back where there were less people. She took out her phone and started to scroll through posts on social media. Most of the photos where of people she was acquainted with, but did not actually know.
Kira was far from being socially awkward, but she had trouble forming connections with people she did not find interesting. This lead her to be almost completely friendless at both work and school. Kira had tried forming several relationships in the past, but they always seemed to be doomed to fail from the start.
Kira got bored of scrolling on her phone and decided to people watch. It was one of Kira's favorite past time activities besides reading. She loved watching someone and giving them a background story like one of the characters in her books. The brunette women ordering a coffee suddenly became a lost princess while the couple near the window became soulmates who recently just united after a series of quests.
The door chime rang and drawed her attention. She gaped at the tall man who came in wearing an all black suit. Kira had been in the band in high school that made her realize she had a thing for men in concert black. The man stood at the back of the line putting him in her direct line of sight. She quickly tried to memorize his features. He had thick dark blonde hair and a straight nose. Some of his features were sharper like his jawbone, but others were rounder like his eyes. She was disappointed to find that she couldn't tell what his eye color was.
Kira sighed content with her new passing crush. That is what she called any of the crushes that she had that were purely based on looks and that she would probably never see again. One of her favorite passing crushes was gas station guy who she swore had to be a model.
She tried to take another sip of her coffee only to be annoyed that she had already drank all of it. Kira sighed before standing up, it was probably best is she went back to studying.
Suddenly a little kid ran into her legs causing her to become unbalanced. Kira stumbled backwards trying to regain her balance. She curesed inwardly at herself for never doing gymnastics like her other siblings.
She let out a high pitch scream as she felt herself slip on the water that someone had spilled. Kira knew she was done for before a pair of hands grapped onto her arms from underneath and lifted her in the air before setting her down on a dry surface. She spun around coming face to face with concert black dude.
"Are you okay ma'am?" The man asked looking down at her. He was a lot taller than what she had originally thought. Kira was generally impressed with any guy that was taller than her since she was 5'10.
"I-I'm okay… are you okay?" She asked cringing at her voice crack. She sadly never learned how to talk to guys.
"I'm alright be careful next time!" He smiled and walked away exiting the store. She stood there for what felt like a minute before remembering she still needed to get her homework done and couldn't be distracted by random men any longer.
