Chapter 48 Negotiations and Conditions

After half a Terra day, David trudged to the Lower Nest and immediately went to the front line of the confrontation to prepare for negotiations.

In order to show his sincerity, David didn't even bring any guards. He just held his Strong Brain Cat and walked towards the First Army alone.

When Gray, who had been on standby, saw David coming, he stood up and walked towards him.

After the two men stood face to face, David looked at Gray. He was surprised to find that the power armor Gray was wearing had never been seen in the entire empire.

Why did this person go to the Underhive and then have the ability to produce power armor?

David's gaze drifted behind Gray, and he saw that all the soldiers on the position were also wearing power armor.

Compared to this scene, it doesn't matter where the power armor on Gray came from.

"Are you their guide?" David asked Gray, subconsciously thinking that he was the actual commander of the First Army.

Gray remained silent.

Two seconds later, a crack appeared in front of David, and then a man emerged from the crack.

"Qin Mo." Qin Mo looked down at David and said his name.

David was slightly dissatisfied when he saw that he did not salute, but he did not care: "David. I am honored to tell my name to the staunch believers of the Emperor."

Qin Mo looked at David and judged from his clothes that he was a member of the state religion of the Tyrone Hive. The man was estimated to be about 100 to 200 years old. There were various signs of prosthetic modifications on his body. His heart was connected to a black metal can on his back, which was probably a life support device.

As soon as he saw David, Qin Mo suddenly remembered the prophecy that Mimicry told him, which was that the first person he would meet would be a believer of the evil god.

In the eyes of other forces, the emperor is indeed an evil god, so the prophecy is indeed correct.

While Qin Mo was looking at David, David was also looking at Qin Mo. He found that this young man was a little arrogant, both in expression and attitude.

As a member of the state religion, David could see at a glance that Qin Mo was not actually a staunch believer of the Divine Emperor, but he could not make this clear.

"Who can you represent?" Qin Mo asked.

"The hive city and the state religion." David replied calmly.

"Let's talk." Qin Mo turned around and walked towards the position.

Qin Mo observed him as he walked side by side with David.

David walked while gently stroking the strong-brained cat in his arms. This creature, which could only establish a mental connection with its owner, was sleeping soundly and obviously did not feel any emotions of worry or fear from its owner.

This proved that David was very calm. He was certain that he would not be killed, and those people who had escaped from the bottom nest did not want to start a rebellion.

But that was just his idea.

After walking to the position, Qin Mo and David sat on two chairs brought by the soldiers and began to negotiate.

"Poor kid." David glanced at the people present, "What did you go through in the bottom nest?"

"A war." Qin Mo did not explain too much, and then began to put forward conditions: "My people must move freely in the lower nest. What they can do includes but is not limited to: meeting with their families, picking up their families, and purchasing and transporting supplies."

David listened quietly until Qin Mo finished speaking, then a puzzled expression appeared on his face: "Take the family away? Are you still going back to the bottom nest?"

"Yes." Qin Mo nodded.

David did not respond immediately, but lowered his head and thought.

Now the entire nest's only constraint on the First Army is their families. If they are asked to bring their families back to the bottom nest, they will lose the constraint. If they want to launch a large-scale revenge operation, nothing can stop them.

But if I don't agree, I'm afraid...

Thinking of this, David raised his head and stared at Qin Mo, trying to use his psyker power to explore Qin Mo's mind, find out his plan and determine whether he was preparing for war.

At this time, the strong-brained cat also woke up from his deep sleep and stared at Qin Mo with his owner.

After searching for nearly a minute, David found nothing, so he began to search Gray's head, but also found nothing.

David immediately realized that there were anti-psyker devices in their power armor, which made him feel extremely absurd. The group of people in front of him did not look like they had escaped from the bottom nest, but rather like aliens from some high-tech world.

"Speak." Qin Mo stared at David, "Do you agree or not?"

"Okay." David nodded and agreed to the terms.

"Very good, the first negotiation is over." Qin Mo was very satisfied and got up and left.

After hearing the end of the first negotiation, David realized that Qin Mo had only put forward the first condition, and he would have a second and third one.

The best way to avoid being passive is war, label these people as rebels and eliminate them.

But David was a soldier when he was young, and he knew clearly what the consequences would be if he went to war with Qin Mo.

As he watched Qin Mo leave, David suddenly thought of a question and asked loudly: "You finally managed to get these soldiers out of the bottom nest, why do you want to let them go back? Do you just want them to be tools to satisfy your ambitions?"

Qin Mo stopped and looked back at David: "I want to let the soldiers move freely. They can choose to take their families to the bottom nest, or they can choose to stay in the bottom nest. I will not force anyone to return to the bottom nest."

This answer made David wonder again: "Why? Aren't you afraid that they will all choose to stay in the lower nest?"

"Heh." Qin Mo just smiled, and his body was immediately wrapped by a barrier, then disappeared.

David was even more confused and surprised. He felt that the situation was beyond his control. If necessary, he might have to ask the Inquisition to come to Tyrone.

But the Tyrone hive is just one of the many worlds in the Empire. After the laser rifle and Centaur troop carrier production lines were sent out by the Governor, the entire hive became increasingly insignificant. If sufficient evidence cannot be collected, it will be difficult for the Inquisition to intervene.

But it might be possible if the invitation was issued in the name of the state religion.

"Leave." Gray pointed towards Barrett and his men.

"Oh, okay." David nodded and turned to leave.

At this moment, the strong-brained cat in his arms suddenly became agitated.

David comforted the Strong Brain Cat, then took out a jar from his arms and placed it next to the Strong Brain Cat's mouth.

Strong Brain Cat can use psyker powers, making the contents of a jar float out into its mouth, and then chewing it excitedly.

Gray stood by and witnessed the Strong Brain Cat's eating process. He found that the food of this beautiful creature was very disgusting. It was a kind of fat white insect.

"That thing looks pretty cute, but the food is a bit disgusting." Gray complained in the communication channel.

"God knows how this old man trained the strong-brained cat to be like this." An Ruida said, "The strong-brained cats I have seen don't eat insects."
