Chapter 10 - True colors part 2.

The flickering lights inside the school made everything ten times creepier. Sermon and Aaron stood back-to-back near the trophy case, surrounded by a mob of brainwashed students. The innocent kids who was supposed to be going home now and spending time with their families are now lifeless puppets.

"This is so fucking messed up," Aaron said, clenching his fist, pitch black flames emanated from his right arm. "I thought finals were supposed to be the hard part of high school."

Sermon rolled his eyes, putting his hands in his pockets as he was preparing for something. "Maybe stop making a joke about it and focus? One hit of their weapon can cause a lot of bleeding."

The students moved in unison, their footsteps echoing like a drumbeat. One of them is the security guard of the school; the guard, lunged at Sermon with his baton, Sermon barely managed to shove him back as he pulled out his right hand and aimed his finger towards the security guard with a burst of light.

"Seriously? That Johnson guy got a security guard as his puppet?" Sermon chuckled.

Aaron, once again threw an another burst of darkness to the students that is blocking their way; Aaron's burst of darkness obliterates every boulder inside the building including walls, ceiling, and the floor. "Yeah, that guy surely has a weird taste when it comes to choosing his puppets."

The crowd pressed together, and Sermon gritted his teeth. "Do you have any skills to show?"

Aaron looks at him with a confused look. "What do you mean?" He asked.

"We need to get this students out of our way, any good shadowy thingy ability you can show me? But don't kill them!" Sermon replied.

"Good question because I've learned this one trick that i really love," Aaron started making weird gestures with his hands. "It's nothing to brag about, but I don't know if this can kill or just stuns the enemy."

"As long as It makes this students move the fuck our way!" Sermon yelled.

"Hold on," He was almost done making the weird gestures. "Done!"

Aaron slowly swung his fist to the students, shadows started emerging from his arm; Sermon, started feeling the sense of dread and the power behind the shadow forming on Aaron's arms.

By the time the dust settled, Aaron had finally delivered the punch so fierce that its shadows reverberated through the air, throwing the students out the window; Sermon, was stunned at Aaron's power he just saw.

"Does that kill them?" Aaron asked sounding worried.

"I don't know but you threw them from the second floor," Sermon rushed, heading towards the broken window; the students was somewhat standing and some of them was lying down on the ground. "They'll be fine! Let's go!"

"Well look at that destruction," Hendrick said as he stands on top of a signal tower, taking a drag from his cigar; Angela, who was beside him. Watching the whole situation unfolds at Woodlake High School.

"You've really put a lot of trust to that demon." Angela asked with a low distinct voice, her eyes narrowing as she looks at Hendrick.

"Oh yeah," He replied before inhaling his cigar and blowing out the smoke. "You can literally see Aaron's guts just by controlling a demon."

"So... are we helping them or what?" She asked.

Hendrick shook his head. "No need." One straight answer, came out of Hendrick's mouth.

Angela's expression was filled with disbelief and confusion. "So we're not helping them?"

"No, we're just here to watch not to join them." He replied smirking. "We don't want the demon inside Mr. Johnson's body to see me."

"If it weren't because of that Zack guy, I knew he wasn't dead," Hendrick said in his thoughts as he threw his cigar. "If it weren't because of him the Woodlake High School wouldn't be famous if weren't because of them."

"OUT OF MY WAY!!" Sermon yelled loudly as he kicks the female student by the stomach, his voice echoes around the hallway of the third floor.

More and more students started coming down the stairs from the fourth floor; the only last floor where Mr. Johnson's office was located. "This is bad! Really really bad!" Aaron yelled.

"Be careful of using your power, they're very close to you. One hit of your shadows could kill them and we don't want to kill them!" Sermon advised with a dour voice.

Sermon started making the first move by charging towards the several students at his left side and giving them strong punches and kicks; Aaron on the other hand clenched his fists, shadowy flames started emerging from his fists and arms.

Aaron had turned into a martial artist with his power; giving every brainwashed students punches and kicks, and trying not to throw any burst of darkness; killing them. A student with a glasses swung a lamp, successfully hitting Sermon on his back; Sermon was holding his back for a bit then gritted his teeth with a growl, He swiftly took the lamp from the students lamp and slammed on his head.

Aaron noticed this. "Hey! You have anger issues or something?! A blow like that can kill that student!" Aaron yelled.

"My bad, hitting me on my back really pisses me off." Sermon said as he puts his finger by the bridge of his nose out of annoyance.

More and more students started showing up blocking their way and holding strange weapons with their hands; The two of them was sweating up from the previous conflicts. "Hey Aaron." Sermon called him with a stern voice.

"Yeah?" Aaron replied. confused.

"Once we finished this, we can finally rest and send this kids back to their parents," Sermon stretched his arms. "Let's get this over with."

Aaron puts on a resolute smile and said. "To be honest, I like the sound of that."

Sermon and Aaron took a deep breath, before getting prepared with a determined expression visible on their face.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. Johnson was kneeling down as he spreads his arms; he was chanting something as he gazed at the red demonic symbol at the wall in front of him, the chanting continues as the symbol glows brighter. The ceiling started gushing out bloods as it runs down the walls; Mr. Johnson's eyes started turning black and spikes emerged out of his back.

He speaks in a distorted tone. "Now then... let's wait for them to come in here."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"High school students can be really annoying nowadays." Aaron said, he grabbed the male student by the collar and pulled him towards Aaron as his other hand threw a punch at the student's face.

"Except for them, spoiled and brainwashed is a different thing." Sermon replied wiping the sweats on his forehead.

They were ganged up by some brainwashed students; left and right, Sermon and Aaron steps back as the mob of brainwashed students walks closer to them unison. Sermon bumped onto Aaron's back.

One of the student lunged forward to attack Aaron with her Axe, Aaron quickly prepared himself up to fend the attack; when out of a sudden, the girl who was about to attack her randomly fell on the ground limped.

The group of students did the same too, that left Sermon and Aaron confused. "What's going on here?" The dark and quiet sky had turned red; Aaron felt a sense of dread and uneasiness.

"What's happening?" He turned to Sermon who was looking at the sky. "Hey Sermon! What's happening?"

Sermon clicked his tounge. "We're late." Sermon started rushing upstairs. "Come on, we have to hurry!"

As Aaron and Sermon was about to run at the long hallway heading towards Mr. Johnson's office. A maid named Marie blocks the way; she was holding a whip made out of chain with spikes, she glared at Sermon and Aaron.

"Wait a minute? Y-you're that maid that gave us that coffee!" Sermon yelled at the Marie.

Marie seems to be ignoring them, she just stood still and glared at them.

"We got no time, we can probably beat the shit out of her. She look brainwashed." Sermon whispered to Aaron.

Sermon walks confidently towards Marie, as he got closer Sermon felt something wrong with Marie; Sermon, smirked and seems to be not bothered by Marie's power. "Move out of the way kid."

"Don't make do it." Sermon warned her.

By the time the water droplet of the faucet fell; Sermon, without thinking twice stretched out his arm and threw a punch to Marie. She blocked the punch using her left and arm, and used her right arm to hit Sermon with her whip.

The whip's spikes tore through Sermon's white suit, ripping into his skin as well. "Gah!" Sermon steps back before countering her attack with a front kick. "That hurts! You bitch!"

Marie quickly dodged his kick by stepping back and countered by casting a spell; she waved her hand upwards creating wall of flames, with a sweep of her hand; the flames was sent to Sermon.

It burned Sermon's clothes through his skin as well. "Ahhh!" Sermon cried out in pain.

"This one is not brainwashed." Aaron muttered. "I can use my power on her!"

Shadows started forming on Aaron's palm; Marie, noticed this and was taken aback since she never saw someone used this kind of power. Aaron threw a large burst of darkness to Marie. "Shit!" She gasped.

Marie summoned a red barrier by extending her hand in front of the upcoming attack; her barrier somewhat blocks Aaron's burst of darkness, but; Aaron's power was too strong, Marie's shield couldn't handle this attack.

It destroyed Marie's shield and Aaron's shadow attack, hits Marie; Obliterating every walls and ceiling. "Did it get her?!" Aaron asked to himself.

"I think so, that kind of blow surely killed those students earlier." Sermon replied as he dusts his self.

"You two are truly getting on my nerves." She hissed as she stood up.

She glared at us with a menacing look as she gritted her teeth out of irritation; Sermon glared back and summoned his katana out of thin air, Sermon prepared himself up by summoning another burst of darkness.

"So this girl wasn't brainwashed at all." Aaron looks at Marie in disbelief. "If she's not brainwashed then she was serving Mr. Johnson all along?" Sermon said in his thoughts, completely baffled.

"Hey! How old are you?" Aaron asked Marie.

Marie looks at him in confusion. "Where did that came from?"

"...You're literally aware on what's happening! S-so you're serving Mr. Johnson even though you know that he made a contract with the devil?" Aaron asked, baffled and yelling.

"Indeed." Marie replied with a cold tone.

"And why is that may I ask?" Sermon asked, joining the conversation. "You knew that the person you've been working for was no longer the same person."

Aaron was completely in disbelief after he heard Sermon's words. "W-what exactly do you mean? T-that wasn't Mr. Johnson anymore?

"Last time we talked to him, I can already feel that a devil had already taken Mr. Johnson's body." Sermon explained with a serious tone. "Even though this maid knew that the real person she was serving for was already gone, I could already how weird this maid's loyalty is."

"S-so you're saying Mr. Johnson was already gone and it was a devil we're talking to?" Aaron realized. "Wait-"

Aaron recalled the time he had spoken to him last day. "Who the fuck is that anyway? Ohh, that desperate guy!" Mr. Johnson said as Aaron recalled."

"Demon or not, Mr. Johnson saved me from my sufferings." Marie hold onto her weapon more tighter. "If you're going to kill him, you'll have to get to me first!"

"He gave me shelter and food, and cared for me in a way my parents never did." She bellowed.

"Your stubbornness really amuse the fuck out of me." Sermon hissed as his menacing smile grew wider. "Your first choice is usually to move out of the way."

"Uhm... Sermon I think we should-" Aaron stammered.

"You actually know what you're doing right? You are very aware." Sermon rasped, his voice sounded almost a whisper.

"Move out of the way," Sermon sweeps his hand, asking Marie to move. "And no one gets hurt."

Marie, narrowed her eyes as a sign of determination and being prepared. "I refuse."

Aaron's lips curled back, revealing a row of razor-sharp teeth; when out of a sudden, a large wave of light started coming towards Marie at super speed. She got no time to react, with a short delay. "Cover your ears." Sermon commanded as he covers his ears.

Aaron quickly obeys and covered his ears; suddenly, a bright explosion obliterates the whole fourth floor. Leaving Sermon and Aaron unscratched; Marie, on the other hand was lying unconscious on a weird, strange, and creepy looking creature with spikes on its back.

Marie was bleeding from head to toe and some of the fabric of her maid dress was torned apart due to the explosion.

"And look what we have here." Sermon smirked. "You finally showed your true colors and it's red haha!"

Aaron looks Marie with concerned look and back to Sermon. "Y-you didn't killed her right?"

"HUH!? Don't tell me you're concerned with the devil's lapdog." Sermon replied sounding confused and angry.

"That's not what I-" Aaron was cut off.

"Are you fools done now?" Said the devil with a distorted tone as he laid Marie down. "The students and including Marie really bought me some time to transform, I must say killing you would Marie's biggest favor."

The devil glared Sermon. "Shall we begin?"

Sermon smiled menacingly. "Of course."
