After a particularly successful shot, Marisa lowered her camera and grinned, her eyes sparkling with mischief as if she were holding back a juicy secret. "Oh, Elena, I almost forgot to tell you. You've been nominated for an award."
I blinked at her, frozen in place. "Wait—what?"
Marisa chuckled, casually adjusting her camera strap. "You heard me. Best New Starter of the Year in the modeling industry. They're announcing the winners next month."
Isabel, who had been sipping coffee on the sidelines, choked. Literally. She coughed so violently that a nearby assistant had to pat her back, while her coffee cup wobbled dangerously in her hand.
"WHAT?!" she finally managed to sputter, her eyes nearly bulging out of their sockets. "Elena, are you kidding me?!"
I turned back to Marisa, still processing her words. "Me? Best New Starter? Are you sure? Like... are you absolutely sure you didn't mix me up with someone else?"
