I had just finished tidying up when Carmen walked into the living room, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. I could tell she was up to something, and it piqued my curiosity.
"What are you planning, Carmen?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Tonight, we're cooking dinner together," she announced, her tone filled with determination.
I blinked in surprise. Cooking together? This was new. I loved cooking, but I wasn't sure about Carmen's skills in the kitchen. Nonetheless, the idea sounded fun and endearing. "Are you sure about that? You know I'm a pretty good cook, but what about you?"
Carmen chuckled. "You'll just have to find out. Come on, it'll be fun."
I smiled, feeling a warm flutter in my chest. This was one of the reasons I loved her. Despite everything we had been through, she still found ways to make things special. "Alright, let's do it."
