As Daniel and his cronies slunk away, I kept my gaze firmly on them, my mind simmering with thoughts of retribution. Killing him would be so easy, so satisfying. But I couldn't do that in front of Elena. I had to be smarter, more controlled. He'd pay for this, just not today.
