"But I ran you through and I definitely felt your life force fading away!" Rompe backed off and glared at the black haired girl who bore a nonchalant smile as she walked to him.
"There's this kid I once met. His magic was a unique one - never really dead. Once a day, he can take on even an attack capable of destroying worlds and still have a sliver of life left." Katarina looked at her clothes and places a hand on then and the materials fibre regenerated and there was practically no sign she has ever been stabbed.
"So, what will you do?"
"No. I can't just lose like this." Rompe said as madness flashed in his eyes and he brought out a syringe and plunger it into his neck.
In that time, Katarina was undergoing a very serious debate.
'It seems like he's about to bring out his trump card. It looks quite powerful so perhaps I'll have the boss fight I've been waiting for.' was the argument one part of her had.'
'Ot could be dangerous so dodge it.' the other part of her argued back.
In the three seconds it took for Rompe to transform, Katarina had already had several back and forth with herself before coming to a conclusion.
To take him head on.
"It's not often I get to fight opponents as weak as this but can still transform. I'll need the data." Was the excuse she convinced herself with.
"But first..." Katarina snapped her hands and her shadow stretched out and swallowed the entire room and the two of them disappeared.
"No one would be able to disturb us here." Katarina looked at the monster in front of her who was previously the man named Rompeltiskavemistos.
"If that was even his real name." Katarina took a step forward and a pink light glimmered in her hands to from a butterfly made of light.
"Go." The butterfly weakly flew towards the monster and the monster raised it's arm and the butterfly was literally about to be crushed like an insect.
At least, until the hand of the monster made contact with the insect.
An explosion rocked the dimension they were in and the monster cried out in fear and pain as its hand was blown to nothingness.
"This is why you don't take an opponent's attack head on unless you're absolutely stronger than them."
Katarina waves her hand and a swarm of butterflies surrounded her.
"Fire magic plus compression magic plus strengthening magic, Insect Haze."
"RAWR!" The monster roared and numerous barriers appeared in front of it.
It appeared it hadn't lost all reasoning as it was still able to determine that the butterflies were a threat and cast a spell to counter it.
"Spatial magic, dimension shifter." Katarina smirked and applied another magic and the butterflies passed through the monsters barrier as though it was there before landing softly on the monsters body and exploded.
"Well, not that not taking it head on would have saved you." Katarina looked at the monster that was barely hanging on with only a single thread of life and was about to end it when she sensed something coming for her and leaned to the side.
A small piece of metal shot by her and landed in the floor.
"Who?" Katarina's and Rompe were currently located in another dimension and though it was connected to the main one, nothing should have been able to enter without permission.
"Who are you?" She asked the robe figure that entered the dimension and secretly assessed the figure.
'It's that robe!' Katarina narrowed her eyes as she found out what allowed the robes figure to penetrate another dimension easily.
'It's because that robe also allows one to shift into other dimensions and penetrate barriers. And judging from it's strength, it's most likely a higher level spell than mine.'
Katarina shifted her stance and a metal staff appeared in her hands.
It was made of one of the rarest metals in the world, mithril and though it didn't have a name, it was on par with epic class weapons with just it's spell enhancement properties.
"Wait, could it be..." Katarina remembered hearing some rumors in the capital about a certain assasin organisation that even the royal knights had difficulty catching.
'If each of their members have a robe like this, then its no wonder.'
Katarina took in a deep breath and hundreds of magic circles appeared beside her, each of different elements and they pulsed with magic power as Katarina pushed her output to the max.
"Magic barrage." The same method the lich king had employed when fighting Sai, Katarina used a similar method and magic attacks rained on the figure.
"Spatial magic, One World." Katarina dissolved the dimension and locked her new opponent in another dimension together with the spells she fired and watched them crash into the robed figure.
"Inferna Everton." A white flame spear appeared and Katarina flung it into the dimension together with the other spells.
"That wouldn't have done it, right?" Katarina looked as they multitude of spells shone for a brief moment before going out.
The dimension the robed figure was trapped in cracked and the person appeared though not unscathed.
"Looks like you're not the one who created the robe." Katarina nodded in satisfaction as she saw the robe was full of scorch marks.
"In that case, there's no need to hold back."
...
Ruler magic.
The magic makes the wielder a natural born ruler and to some lengths, it can even be used to control other people.
But that is not the true potential of the magic.
Ruler magic allows one to gain the magical affinities of people acknowledged as the wielders subordinates though the person in question does not acquire their mana capacity and their experience in using said magic.
Even so, it remains a powerful magic capable of changing the world.
As a person who possessed it can cast multiple variations of the strongest composite magic in the world, Compound magic.
...
"Ruler magic, All eternity." A three dimensional cube appeared in Katarina's hand and it expanded to cover both herself and the robed figure and transported them to a new dimension.
"Compound magic,. Phase - Fire, Earth, Gravity. Ultraspeed Meteor." The 'ceiling' of the dimension cracked as a metre broke into the space.
"Spatial magic, Eternal restraints." Even though she had the figure trapped in another dimension, Katarina still didn't let her guard down and cast an extra set of restraints.
What was surprising was that the figure offered no resistance and she frowned but decided to continue the attack.
"Go." And with that, she left the dimension in the void s she teleported out.
Seconds later in the real world, cracks appeared in the air and flames leaked out into the surroundings.
Katarina snapped her fingers and restrained the leaking energy with numerous barriers which just stopped their movements.
"I pray that one was able to finish her off." Katarina raised a hand and calmed the remnant energy of the attack and entered the now destroyed dimension.
She carefully made her way through space cracks, space warps and numerous spatial oddities and arrived at where she remembered landing the attack.
A black hole torn in space rested in that spot and Katarina nodded satisfied as she detected no trace of the enemy.
"Looks like he's through too." Katarina sensed numerous objects landing into the barrier just stopping short of breaking it and left the dimension.
"Now..." Katarina looked at the space in front of her that had weblike cracks extending into the skin and deep into the earth.
"... What do I do about this?"
