Blood was coming out of Brian facial orifice, it seems as if Brian is crying tears of blood , he's bleeding from nose, mouth and ears.
World become silent to Brian ears, he couldn't hear anything but he can still feel the pain, he couldn't free his hand from this big golden jackal fangs.
Seeing the opportunity infront it little jackal that was circling around Brian run towards him and bite his leg.
Brian screamed out in pain as he's focus was on the big golden jackal instead of small one as he almost forgot about it till small jackal bite him in leg, jackal sharp fangs penetrate his leg flesh unlike the big one little one fangs didn't reach bone but they still hurts.
Small jackal with its sharp teeth try to rip apart Brian legs flesh, Brian couldn't even kick the one that's biting his leg cause if try to shack it of from his leg that would spell his doom as bigger jackal would taking this as opportunity will ripped him apart or try keep his distance from him till its recover.
Coming out of his shock Claude realise how serious this situation is if he doesn't do anything Brian sooner or later will die and he will be the next after him.
Claude start to cast his ice spear spell, Claude stretched out his hand, concentrating the mana present in his body.
As he gathered sufficient mana he focused, he visioned ice spike that he wanted to materialize beneath the big golden jackal.

Then out of thin air ice spike materialize beneath the big golden jackal and pierced the its stomach and comes out of its back.
As ice spike pierced golden jackal stomach, it let go of Brian left hand from his fangs, taking this opportunity Brian grabs his axe with his right hand and hit the golden jackal in the centre of his head.
Axe edge crush the skull of golden jackal and stab inside, Brian pulled out the axe from golden jackal head and using his all strength once again hit the golden jackal in the head and splitting the head in two from centre.
Holding his axe backward Brian hit the small size golden jackal in the head, small golden jackal head start to bleed from its head but still wouldn't let go of Brian leg.
Brian swing his axe once again and hit the small golden jackal stomach penetrating deep inside the stomach, small golden jackal blood and intestine falls on to the snow as he remove the axe from jackal stomach.
Small golden jackal dies few seconds later from bleeding to death but it fangs still stuck deep inside Brian legs.
Even after its death jackal didn't let go of Brian as if showing its resolve and vengeance for its fellow jackal death.
Brian bent over and hold the golden jackal mouth with his both hands, even though using his left hand is really painful, he still use it to hold small golden jackal lower jaw and with his right hand hold its upper jaw.
"Ahhhhhhhhh."
Brain screams in pain while removing the jackal mouth from his leg. Brain look at his leg injury that jackal almost ripped out his flesh.
Brian pulled out his long knife that he stab inside jackal mouth and place inside his robe pocket.
Brian stood on to the snow using his axe as support and start panting loudly, Brian is completely exhausted now from killing this golden jackal, he needs healer helps right now or he would get into serious condition as he's bleeding from his injuries.
But Claude doesn't know where they're at this moment in forest and there's no healer around here and one that are all in settlement, Claude start to walks towards the Brian to give him treatment and close his injuries with bandages them with his clothes.
"That was good move kid." Brian praise Claude for his spell and laugh.
"Spells of your is what saved my life today kid."
"Brian don't stand there sit on the snow, you are injuries need treatment." Claude said with worry and concern in his voice.
"No." Brian just reject to sit and he stood smiling and proud on his feet for killing the golden jackals.
"Man stood strong and proud on their feet."
Just as Brian said that snow infront of his feet explode with fierce fire and red jackal comes out of the snow and leaps on to the standing Brian unguarded neck.
Brian and Claude both weren't ready for this attack nor they thought about it that there would jackal hiding underneath the snow.
Jackal whole body is burning with fierce fire, this jackal isn't big as previous one nor is weak normal jackal, this jackal has red fur and has fire element power.
Red jackal push Brian on to the snow below him and didn't let go of his bite from Brian neck, jackal fangs penetrate deep inside Brian neck and fierce fire is burning Brian body.
Brian face start burn in intense flame melting his face with flames, Brian try to scream but only muffled cry come out and air and blood start to flow out of his mouth, his sheepskin robe start to burn away in jackal fierce fire.
Snow around them start melt and evaporate into steam, everything happened so fast that they didn't even have time to adjust to situation, Brian despite being in intense pain pulled out his long knife from his sheepskin robe pocket and start stabbing jackal stomach with last remaining strength he have left inside him with each breath Brian is loosing his strength.
Claude quickly run over to Brian side and cast his ice spear spell but as he was in desperate situation he lost his focus and weak spear materialize and got broken before it could even reach jackal.
Claude needs to cast spell faster or Brian wouldn't survive jackal fierce attack, focusing on with his eyes closed Claude cast his spell ice spear materialize right infront of him in air, Claude launch the ice spear at jackal aiming for its stomach as it has bigger areas compared to its small head.
Claude is also afraid of hurting Brian accidentally with his spell that's why he didn't cast ice spike.
Claude ice spear isn't strong like Max but it still manage to penetrate half way through the jackal stomach only reason it only penetrate half way through because jackal intense fierce fire is melting Claude ice spear till melted completely.
Even though ice spear didn't complete penetrate this fire jackal like it did with big jackal but it still did its work and jackal loose it grip on Brian neck and falls to his side as ice spear come with force and pushed him away from Brian.
Seeing the jackal crying and howling in pain, Claude once again cast his ice spike spell.
"Heed my words come out ice spike"
Ice spike materialize from beneath the fire jackal and penetrate its ribs and stomach this time ice spike didn't disappear or got broken after materialising.
Ice spike slowly starts melt with fire as ice spears melts so is fire gets weaker and cry of jackal gets weaker.
Claude jumped inside the hole made from snow underneath Brian and jackal getting melted while fighting.
Claude looked at Brian and seeing his grave condition, he his minds start to fields with despise for himself that he couldn't protect him and being so weak that he needs to get protected by others all the time.
Claude look at the lying fire jackal not far from here, he pick up the knife that Brian dropped from his hand as all the strength in his body is lost and he couldn't hold the knife in his hand.
Fire jackal ripped out Brian neck and his blood is flowing out like river, Claude knows that Brian won't survive this time.
Claude walked up to fire jackal and start stabbing the jackal neck with knife at first first jackal tried to fight back using its claws to attack Claude but as jackal is also heavy wounded it didn't had strength in its claws to hurt him also fire jackal furr are hot despite it being nearly on its last breath.
Claude didn't punch or kick fire jackal just keep stabbing the monster that killed his friend and a mentor.
Jackal claws doesn't have any strength in it, even after jackal lost sign of life from its eyes and passed away Claude continue to stab jackal neck with knife, while tears falling from his eyes.
Brian is on his last breath there's so many things he has yet experience in his life but everything comes to end just like this, Brian is one of the few people that show kindness to him in this world but no he would be gone forever.
Claude doesn't know what he's going to say to Max, Brian daughter, Brian wife. This morning was just like any other they had but everything is changed now.
Brian let soft cry from his mouth he couldn't talk or say anything but with he's all strength he let small sound so Claude could hear him.
After hearing muffled cry from Brian, Claude comes out of his thoughts and quickly stood up and sit next to Brian.
