Chapter 46 - Chapter 46 Defeat The bad guys

As the three emerged from the abandoned nuclear power plant, they realized a problem.

Happy hadn't arrived, leaving them without a car to leave.

"Is he this slow?" Indra raised an eyebrow, looking at Lorna Dane.

From the time they parted ways with Happy to rescuing Anna, not much time had passed. Given the previous distance, Happy should have arrived even if he had walked.

Lorna Dane shook her head, casually saying, "I don't know, maybe he's just slow."

While it wasn't terribly far to Stark Industries, walking would still take a considerable amount of time.

"I can fly you two there," Lorna Dane offered, looking at Indra with some pride. "But you have to promise me something."

Indra saw Lorna Dane's smug expression and teased her, "I get airsick."

Lorna Dane fumed. Not this again! Was he ever going to let this go?

She huffed and said, "With no car, the quickest way to Stark Industries is for me to fly you there."

Indra shook his head, "Who said there's no car?"

Lorna Dane was taken aback as Indra walked towards the side of the nuclear plant. She quickly followed.

Happy had mentioned earlier that he threw a tracker onto their vehicle during the chase, implying there was still a car around here.

After walking a bit, Indra indeed spotted a black SUV.

Lorna Dane looked at Indra in surprise, her expression unsettled. "This…"

For a moment, Lorna Dane was too astonished to speak coherently. "Even if you found the car, without the keys, you'll still need me to fly you."

She crossed her arms and looked at Indra.

Indra approached the SUV and opened the door. Lorna Dane felt as if she'd been hit with a sledgehammer.

She quickly moved to the car and peeked inside. The keys were still in the ignition, apparently left there by whoever had exited last.

"You're incredibly lucky," Lorna Dane remarked, not hiding her amazement.

Indra smiled, opened the back door, and let Anna inside. He then took the driver's seat and said to Lorna Dane, "Get in."

Lorna Dane was a bit annoyed. She had thought Indra might beg for her help when there was no car, but his luck was just too good! Sighing, she got into the car.

Anna, sitting in the back, hugged herself, head lowered, and silent. She was no longer the lively girl Indra had first met. Understandably, anyone would be upset after such a traumatic experience, especially a child like Anna.

What puzzled Indra was why Mandarin wanted to capture Anna.

Lorna Dane looked like she wanted to comfort Anna but didn't know how. She glanced at Indra, who was driving, but he also had no idea how to console her. Indra knew, however, that they couldn't bring her to Stark Industries.

At that moment, Indra saw Happy running on the roadside.

Indra honked and rolled down the window.

"Hey."

He stopped the car, leaning out the window to call out to Happy.

Happy, hearing Indra's voice, approached, confused and out of breath. "How… how are you here? Where's… where's Anna? And… where did this car come from?"

Indra got out, carrying Anna over to Happy.

Seeing Anna, Happy immediately knelt and asked nervously, "Are you okay, Anna?"

Anna, head still down, shook her head but didn't speak. Happy, relieved, stood and said to Indra, "I got lost… you took my phone. I couldn't find my way…"

Happy was breathing more steadily now. Indra, with a hint of regret, said, "I'm sorry, but you know, rescuing someone can't be delayed."

Happy nodded, making an "ok" gesture, "I understand."

Indra patted Anna's head and said to Happy, "I have to go now. Take Anna with you. Go anywhere, but don't return to New York City for now."

Indra then got back into the car.

Happy, puzzled, asked, "What do you mean, don't return to New York City? Is something happening…"

Before he could finish, Anna, who had been silent, suddenly looked up at Indra with determined eyes and said, "Big brother, good luck! Defeat the bad guys!"

Indra smiled and drove off, leaving a bewildered Happy to ask Anna, "Bad guys? You mean the kidnappers?"
