The cacophony of the bustling city streets was deafening, and the dazzling lights illuminated every corner. This filled Indra with an overwhelming sense of exhilaration as he stepped out of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s headquarters.

With exceptional luck and a solid bankroll, how could he possibly fail in the Marvel universe?

With that thought, Indra headed straight towards the bank.

"Do you know Iron Man?" he overheard someone saying.

"You mean the guy in the metal suit? I think his name's Tony."

"Yeah, he used to be a playboy and super rich, made weapons, and now he's in a suit saving the world."

"Of course I know him! He's amazing, saved so many people."

Indra frowned as he watched the bank teller chat leisurely with a colleague while handling his transaction. "Could you hurry it up?" he said, a hint of impatience in his voice.

The teller immediately stopped chatting and quickened her pace. Her conversation, however, had given Indra an idea. He had reincarnated into the Marvel universe, blessed with incredible luck and some money won from Black Widow. Yet, he was still just an ordinary man. No one could hurt him, but he could only fight those on his level. Against superpowered beings, what then?

Already targeted by S.H.I.E.L.D., what would he do if stronger enemies emerged? He couldn't just watch from the sidelines.

Indra realized he needed to become stronger. Only the powerful could dominate.

As he pondered this, a wave of alarmed voices broke out around him.

"Look at that woman!"

"Oh my god, she looks terrifying!"

"Her walk is so strange!"

Indra turned to see a frail woman enter the bank. She looked ordinary, her clothes and figure unremarkable. Normally, she wouldn't stand out in a crowd. But her jerky, awkward movements and pained expression were unsettling. She moved like a machine, lacking self-control, hobbling into the bank with a furious glare, as if the bank owed her a great debt.

Reaching the middle of the bank lobby, her face contorted in rage and she let out a scream.

"What is this?!"

"Oh my god! Is she even human?"

Panic swept through the bank. People started to flee.

Indra's heart sank. Was this a zombie? No, it was the Extremis virus!

Red light began to glow from her chest, spreading across her body, making her appear as if she were burning.

"Boom."

A massive explosion rocked the building. The fifteen-meter-high bank exploded into rubble.

Indra's vision went black, and he lost consciousness.

"Heartbeat, normal."

"Just a few scratches."

"Pulse is steady."

"He must have been knocked out by the blast, temporarily unconscious."

"Incredible, he survived such a massive explosion!"

"He's different, the sole survivor."

Indra slowly regained consciousness, hearing voices around him. He felt completely drained, unable to move a muscle.

He frowned. Had his luck run out? That couldn't be!

"Ding, current luck level is 100%. Do not worry, just relax and enjoy," a mechanical voice chimed in his ear.

Indra silently thought to himself, "There's always someone trying to harm me."

And with that, he slipped back into unconsciousness.

In his unconscious state, Indra felt as though his entire body was engulfed in flames. These flames induced significant changes within him, though the specifics were beyond his perception.

Just when it seemed he was about to be consumed entirely, he jolted awake.

His vision cleared to reveal a confined space—a small research lab. Directly in front of him was a glass wall, through which he could see his own reflection. To his surprise, he was naked, and his once ordinary physique now boasted a set of eight well-defined abs.

Indra frowned. Did I really get abs just by sleeping?

Before he could process this strange development, a group of seven or eight men in white lab coats approached. They appeared to be scientists or researchers, their backs turned to Indra as they focused on another small lab across from him. Inside that lab was a man who looked incredibly strong but was clearly in agony, thrashing about as if being torn apart.

The man pounded on the glass, shouting, "Please, let me out!"

The scientists ignored his pleas, engrossed in their tablet screens as they discussed among themselves.

"Anger levels at 20," one noted. "Increase the anger stimulation."

A tap on the tablet, and the man convulsed as if electrocuted. Moments later, he collapsed to the floor, now visibly enraged. His cries for mercy turned into curses.

"Fuck! You bastards, what have you done to me? Let me out!"

The researchers paid him no heed, their attention fixed on their devices.

"Anger levels at 60," one observed. "Increase the stimulation."

Another jolt hit the man, intensifying his fury. He pounded the glass harder, his screams now a primal roar.

"Let me out! I'll blow this place to hell!"

His face twisted in rage, while the scientists' expressions grew more excited as they watched the readings.

"Anger levels at 70... Anger levels at 80..."

Soon, the man was enveloped in a red glow, his entire body, even his eyes, igniting like a living flame.

"Boom."

A massive explosion shook the entire building. In an instant, the man was reduced to a bloody pulp. The researchers watched, unfazed, their excitement turning to disappointment.

"Failure," one said coldly.

Indra watched this scene unfold, his frown deepening. It really is the Extremis virus.

The Extremis virus was a potent serum that could rapidly heal wounds, regenerate limbs, and even allow its host to breathe fire. It was a formidable power, but it came with terrifying side effects. The regenerative process caused extreme heat, which could be fatal if uncontrolled. Moreover, if the host's physiology clashed with the virus, the results were catastrophic.

Due to the extreme emotional distress caused by the virus, most people succumbed to self-destruction. In fact, the vast majority couldn't handle the virus and would explode. Only a small fraction had the compatible physiology for it.

"You've finally woken up. You've been unconscious for a day." A voice interrupted Indra's thoughts, snapping him back to reality.

Seven or eight men in white lab coats were standing outside the glass door, watching him intently. One of them, holding a tablet, smiled at Indra.

"You're different from the others. You're very lucky," the man said. Indra noticed the name tag on the man's chest—Aiden.

Aiden continued, "In such a massive explosion, you're the sole survivor. You give me hope. I have a feeling that this time, I will succeed."

Indra was momentarily stunned. Wasn't the Extremis virus developed by a villain named Dr. Killian? Who was this Aiden?

He didn't have time to dwell on it. He noticed a row of similar small labs across from him, each containing a person—men, women, even children.

Frowning, Indra asked Aiden, "Have all these people been injected with the Extremis virus?"

Aiden face lit up with surprise. "You know what this is?"

Indra nodded.

Aiden's excitement grew. "If you know, aren't you thrilled? Aren't you excited? If we succeed, the value of this virus is immeasurable!"

Aiden continued, "I also injected you with the Extremis virus. How does that feel? Surprised?"

Indra frowned. That explained his new set of abs.

"You should be grateful you were chosen. If the experiment succeeds, you'll become one of the most powerful beings on Earth," Aiden declared.

Indra's eyes narrowed. "But you know the side effects of the Extremis virus—self-detonation. Only a very few can adapt completely."

Aiden snorted. "So what? I don't care about that."

Turning to his colleague, Aiden asked, "What's his anger level?"

The colleague looked at his tablet, surprised. "Zero..."

"What did you say?" Aiden roared.

The colleague stammered, "It's really zero... And it's been 24 hours since the injection, but his body hasn't changed at all. This is unlike any previous experiment."

Aiden shook his head in disbelief. "Impossible." He snatched the tablet, but in his frustration, he dropped it, shattering the screen.

Seeing the shattered tablet, Aiden became increasingly agitated, clawing at his hair. "Failed again... failed again..."

After a while, he glared at Indra, screaming, "Worthless!"

Then he barked orders at the others, "Bring more Extremis! Give him another dose!"

One of the researchers hesitated, about to leave, but stopped when he saw Indra smirking. Indra raised his fist and, with a single punch, shattered the glass.

Everyone froze. This glass was supposed to be unbreakable, even against missiles. Yet, Indra had shattered it with a punch.

"You may not realize it yet, but you have no idea who you've messed with."
