The shadow of the Lexicon of Archives towered above the surrounding buildings when the mortal brought their purloined vehicle to a halt, cutting off the engine by disconnecting the exposed wires. With a deep breath, Luciano stepped out of the passenger seat and stretched his arms over his head, feeling a nice crack in the muscles in his back.
Staring up at the architectural marvel, its façade was adorned with intricate carvings and towering columns that gave it an air of timeless grandeur. His gaze drifted over to the large stairway that led up to the wooden door and he almost expected to see the lifeless body of the goddess at the bottom, but she was long gone. He had a feeling that what he and the mortal did yesterday was going to come around and bite them in the arse.
