Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Later that night, Gwen was sprawled across her bed, rummaging through her closet. She was determined to find the perfect outfit for her first date with Kiran, a mix of excitement and nerves bubbling inside her. Across town, Kiran was having a similar dilemma.

In his room, surrounded by a chaotic pile of clothes, he shouted, "Aunt! I think I need your help!" His aunt appeared, arms laden with pairs of clothes, ready to assist him in making the right choice. Fast forward to the movie theater, Kiran and his best friend Michael were anxiously waiting for their dates to arrive.

"Wait, how did you get a date with Liz Allen?" Kiran asked, confusion furrowing his brow. Michael smirked. "Same way you did with Gwen. Plus, it might help that I'm friends with her grandma." Kiran sighed, glancing at his outfit: a crisp white button-up shirt, fitted black chinos, and classic black-and-white Vans. His usually messy brown hair was neatly styled with gel.

"You okay, Kiran? You look worried," Michael observed. "It's nothing... just my first date," Kiran replied, adjusting his shirt nervously. "You and me both. We're going out with two of the most beautiful girls in school," Michael reassured him. Suddenly, Kiran spotted Gwen stepping off the bus, his heart racing. She looked stunning in a pastel pink blouse and a high-waisted A-line skirt, her hair intricately pulled into a ponytail.

"Hey... uh, I mean, hey Gwen," Kiran stammered, his voice cracking slightly, causing Gwen to giggle. "So, what movie are we seeing?" she asked, excitement sparkling in her eyes. "Let's see *Rage and Extreme.* I heard it has gore and violence like no other," Kiran said, pointing at the poster of robots and zombies.

Michael nudged him, suggesting, "How about this one? *Another One.* It's a romance." "Uhh... yeah, let's go with that one," Kiran agreed, and they made their way inside. Meanwhile, in the streets of Harlem, a group known as the Tombstones approached a military-secured warehouse.

"Okay, everyone in and out before they call for backup. Remember, it's one shot, and the effects last for 10 minutes," the leader instructed, handing each crew member a syringe filled with a mysterious white liquid. They stealthily entered, guns drawn, ready to execute their plan.

Back at the movie theater, Kiran sat in his seat, boredom creeping in as he watched the film. "Hey Kiran, wanna get some snacks?" Gwen whispered, and he nodded eagerly. Once outside, Kiran asked, "What do you want to get?"

"Nothing! I didn't want to see that smut of a movie. It didn't even make sense. I'd rather see *Rage and Extreme,*" Gwen said with a playful giggle. Kiran felt a rush of courage. "Listen, Gwen, I've been thinking about what we are... or what we could be. Maybe we're just nothing because I haven't made a move... but now..."

He nervously grabbed her hand, pulling her close, their cheeks flushed with warmth. "Funny! I was just thinking the same thing," Gwen replied, their lips inches apart. Just as they were leaning in, a loud cough interrupted them, causing both to jump back, embarrassed.

Beep! Kiran's phone buzzed with an urgent notification. "Looks like there's a break-in over in Harlem. I better go," he said, a mix of concern and determination on his face. "Okay, be careful," Gwen replied, watching him dash out, feeling a mix of excitement and worry.

Tombstone's crew unleashed a barrage of gunfire at the guards. Amid the sound of gunfire, one of the goons, a scrappy man with a wild grin, stumbled upon a long black box.

"Hey, I think I found it!" he yelled, flinging open the lid to reveal a sleek, high-tech laser that gleamed ominously in the dim light. As tension filled the air, Kiran, lurking in the shadows, couldn't help but quip, "Hey guys, I don't think you noticed, but there's a no trespassing sign." His voice dripped with sarcasm as he crept closer to the group, the flickering overhead lights casting shadows on his spandex-clad figure.

"What's this? The Spider freak?" a crew member called out, squinting in disbelief. "No one told me Spiderman was in Harlem! I thought you were in Queens!" Kiran shot back with a smirk, "I'm thinking about relocating. You know, get a good look at cheap apartments." Just then, in a flash of acrobatics, he front-flipped into action, shooting webs to snatch the weapon from one of the men's hands.

The crew was taken by surprise as Kiran dexterously dodged gunfire, disarming the crew one by one. "Okay, just surrender so I can get back to my life," he urged, his voice laced with impatience. But the chaos escalated when one of the men, his eyes filled with desperation, declared,

"I'm using it!" He injected himself with a vial of a mysterious white liquid, his skin transforming to an eerie white and his eyes glowing a menacing red. Kiran raised an eyebrow, "Is that some kind of party trick? Cause I'm impressed." The transformed thug charged at him, but Kiran ducked and dodged, easily weaving around the brute.

"You know, you have to punch like this…" Kiran retorted, landing a solid jab. Yet, to his shock, it felt like hitting a wall, and a counter-punch sent him crashing into a set of shelves. "Let's get out of here!" the henchman yelled, and the remaining crew scrambled on their bikes, making a hasty escape with the laser tech.

Slowly, Kiran disentangled himself from the debris, groaning in pain. "Ouch… What just happened?" Hours later, Kiran found himself in his bathroom, spitting blood into the sink. "How did he get that strong? It felt like I punched a wall." He examined his sprained hand, frustration pooling within him.

As he lay on his bed, scrolling through his phone, the news blared: "Spider-Man's latest crime? Robbing a secured warehouse! We need to act and run him out of our city!" shouted Jay Jonah Jameson, fueling Kiran's growing concern.

The next day, in the dark lair of Tombstone, the henchman reported back, "Here, boss. And we also ran into a problem with Spider-Man." Tombstone waved him off, confidence emanating from him. "Doesn't matter; that freak isn't going to stop my payday.

Now that we have this..." He held up the high-tech laser, a wicked grin curling on his lips. The next day, Gwen stood in Kiran's messy room, tending to his bruises. "Nothing broken, so that's good. Only a sprained hand and ribs. You said his skin changed and his eyes were glowing when he injected himself?" she asked, concern etched across her face.

"Yeah, he became super strong and durable. Next time, I won't be caught off guard," Kiran replied, determination rising in his chest. "Doesn't your spider sense warn you about stuff like this?" Gwen pressed, and Kiran looked at her, puzzled.

"Spider sense?" "You know, that tingling feeling you told me you get when you're in danger? I thought you might as well name it something good instead of the tingle,'" Gwen teased. Kiran couldn't help but laugh. "Haha!" "What's so funny? If you don't like it" "No, I like it. Thanks, Gwen." As their eyes locked for a brief moment, something electric sparked between them. He leaned in, heart racing, only to pull back quickly, awkwardly adjusting his shirt just as May barged in. "Oh, am I interrupting?" she smirked, sensing the tension in the air. "No!" both Kiran and Gwen shouted in embarrassment.

The next day at Midtown High, Kiran was excited to show May around the bustling school. As they navigated the crowded hallways, he turned to her, slightly apologetic. "Sorry I couldn't help you on your first day. I was very busy," he admitted, a hint of regret in his voice.

"It's okay. You don't have to do this, Kiran," May replied with a warm smile, her eyes glinting with appreciation. "No, no! I'm a man of my word. Well, this is the cafeteria," Kiran said, gesturing proudly as they entered the lively space filled with chatter and laughter. "Hmmm... I was wondering where I was eating," May chuckled, glancing around at the vibrant setting.

"You're not gonna make this fun, huh?" Kiran teased, raising an eyebrow. "Nope," May smirked playfully, her confidence shining through. Suddenly, Flash, the school's notorious jock, barged into their conversation. "Hey Walker! Why don't you step aside and let me talk to the pretty girl?" he said, shoving Kiran aside with an overbearing demeanor.

"Sup, Red? Why don't you and I get to know each other?" Flash flashed a cocky grin at May. May looked at him, unimpressed. "Hmmm? Get to know a guy who wears too much cologne? Or hang out with the cute guy? I'll go with the cute guy—see ya!" she said, turning on her heel and walking away with Kiran. Kiran couldn't help but be impressed.

"Wow, you don't hold back," he remarked as they moved away from the confrontation. "Not with guys like that," May said, her voice steady with conviction. In class, the atmosphere shifted as Gwen sat a few rows ahead, diligently writing down her notes. Her gaze flickered to Kiran, who seemed momentarily distracted.

She gently kicked his foot under the desk, breaking his train of thought. "You okay?" she wrote down in her notebook, concern etched on her face. "Yeah, just thinking," Kiran replied, quickly scribbling back. "About what happened last night?" Gwen wrote, her curiosity piqued.

"Yeah, they haven't showed up since last night. I'm thinking of investigating to find them," Kiran confessed, feeling the weight of the unknown pressing on his mind. "Okay," Gwen wrote back, but Kiran noticed a sudden change in her expression—her brow furrowed, and her lips pressed together in thought.

"Are you okay?" Kiran wrote down, concerned by the look on her face. "It's nothing, you already have too much going on," she replied, attempting to brush it off. "Gwen, just tell me. Did I do something?" Kiran pressed, sensing the tension.

"No, it's really nothing," she assured him, turning her attention back to the teacher, but Kiran's mind was racing. As he sat there, he recalled something his Aunt had told him: "When a girl says it's nothing, then it's really something." Kiran's heart raced, a mix of worry and curiosity swirling inside him.

After class, Kiran was dragging Gwen by the hand, their laughter echoing down the hallway, completely oblivious to where they were heading. As they burst into the boys' bathroom, Kiran turned to Gwen, an earnest expression on his face. "Okay, Gwen, tell me what's going on?" Gwen hesitated, her expression shifting from playful to serious.

"Kiran, it's no—" but the words faltered as Kiran pulled her into a warm hug. "I'm not gonna let you go until you tell me," he insisted, his tone teasing yet sincere. Gwen rolled her eyes, a smile tugging at her lips. "You know this is really cheesy," she said, her cheeks flushing as Kiran reluctantly released her.

"It's just... you've been out there being Spiderman, and I love that, but I—" Gwen paused, realizing how vulnerable she sounded, her voice trailing off. Kiran's face turned crimson as he processed her words. "Hey, Gwen, let's leave," Kiran suddenly suggested. "What?" Gwen frowned, caught off guard.

"Let's ditch school right now. There's a view I want to show you," he proposed, excitement sparkling in his eyes. "We can't! If they catch us, we'll get in trouble!" Gwen protested, concern creeping into her voice. "They're not gonna catch us," Kiran assured her, his confidence infectious. Before she could protest further, he took her hand, and moments later, they were swinging through the air, Gwen clinging tightly to Kiran as he darted between the towering buildings of Queens. Meanwhile, at the Daily Bugle, chaos erupted.

"Trash! Come on, can I get someone who can get a decent shot of the web head?" Jay Jonah Jameson bellowed, flinging a stack of blurry Spiderman photos onto his desk. "Eddie's been on it for months; we can't even get a decent shot of the guy," Robbie Robertson replied, exasperated.

"Fine! Put it in the papers, online, and the news! Two-thousand-dollar reward for anyone who can get a decent picture of Spiderman!" Jameson's voice boomed, his frustration palpable. Back atop Skyline Tower, Gwen stood mesmerized by the sunset, the vibrant colors painting the sky.

"Wow. So this is what you see?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with wonder. "It looks way more beautiful now," Kiran blurted out, his gaze inadvertently locking on her. The moment hung between them, both of their cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "Okay, I'm just going to say it right here," Kiran declared, stepping closer, their faces mere inches apart.

"I want you—" "Uhh, Kiran, we're way too young to be doing that," Gwen interrupted, her heart racing as she misinterpreted his intention. "What… wait, no, no… I didn't mean that! I meant I want you to be my girlfriend." Kiran stumbled over his words, a wave of embarrassment washing over him.

"Really? You sure? Because you already have a lot on your hands being Spiderman and I don't—" Gwen started, but her words were cut short as Kiran leaned in and kissed her softly. "Without you, I would have already died. I need you in my life, Gwen," he said earnestly, his heart pounding. Gwen smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"I've been in your life, Spider Boy," she teased, leaning in for another kiss when suddenly the thumping sound of a police helicopter echoed above. "Gwen, I uhh—" Kiran stammered, pulling back. "I know. Go get them, web head," she urged, her voice steady yet electrified with excitement. In a flash, Kiran stripped off his school clothes to reveal his Spiderman costume beneath.

Kiran was racing through the streets of Queens, swinging from building to building, then seeing a deafening explosion shattered the air. A massive armored truck barreled down the street, creating chaos as it crashed into everything in its path. Out of the corner of his eye, Kiran spotted a taxi teetering on the edge of a collision course with a helpless police officer. In a split-second decision, he shot out a web and caught the taxi mid-air, lifting it effortlessly.

"I guess that's one way to call a cab," he quipped, his heart racing from the adrenaline. "Spiderman?" the officer asked, incredulous as Kiran deftly landed the taxi safely on the street. "Yep! Now if you don't mind," Kiran replied with a wink, before launching himself into the air again, chasing the chaos that was unfolding before him. As he swung, a nagging thought crossed his mind,

"Something tells me I should've stayed with Gwen." Suddenly, a shout echoed through the streets, "It's Spiderman!" One of Tombstone's henchmen pointed, panic evident in his voice. Kiran's spider-sense tingled, alerting him just in time to dodge a rocket launcher aimed directly at him. "Is that a rocket launcher? Just wow!" he exclaimed, flipping mid-air as the missile crashed into a nearby building, sending debris flying.

"Gotta stop them before more people get hurt," Kiran muttered, focusing his attention back on the armored truck. He landed on the rooftop, scanning the scene, only to be met with the sight of four thugs climbing up after him. "Is this my Uber?" Kiran quipped, dodging their attacks with agile grace. "Is this how you treat your passengers? Definitely giving you 2 stars!" He leg-swept one of them, sending him tumbling off the edge, webbing him to the wall below. But the remaining thugs had a trick up their sleeves.

With a swift motion, they injected themselves with a mysterious white serum, their skin turning grey and eyes glowing red. "Not this party trick again," Kiran sighed, barely able to keep his witty banter going as he evaded their powerful strikes. One thug grabbed his leg and hurled him through a window. "The Spiderman can't handle us with the serum!" he taunted, grinning.

"Ouch. Well, I always wondered what it felt like to be thrown into a window," Kiran muttered as he picked himself up, determination igniting within him. He propelled himself into action, swinging out and shooting webs between two buildings. "Whoohoo!" he yelled as he launched himself back toward the truck, grabbing one thug and sending him sprawling against the wall.

"Okay, let's try this again," Kiran said, narrowly dodging another punch and using the thug's own force to toss him off the truck. "Looks like it's just you and me. I wouldn't judge you too harshly if you decided to surrender." "Not a chance, kid!" the thug spat, charging at Kiran. With a swift front-flip, Kiran evaded the attack, landing behind him. He kicked, sending the thug teetering on the edge of the roof. Suddenly, a scream pierced the air. Kiran turned to see a group of twenty people in the truck's path.

Without hesitation, he swung into action, catching each person mid-leap and ensuring their safety. "Hey, stop this truck before… Uhhh… I'm running out of jokes here!" he exclaimed as he landed back on the roof, breathing heavily. He punched the passenger door, narrowly dodging a bullet as he clung to the side. "Should have asked for a Lyft. Hey, I still got…" he began, but before he could finish, the door swung open, and Kiran lost his grip, falling briefly before sticking to the underside of the truck.

"This seems important," he said, noticing the rubber cord hanging loose. Pulling it with all his strength, a torrent of fluid spewed out, creating a slick distraction. With a final burst of energy, Kiran climbed up the side of the truck, utilizing the pressure to redirect its momentum. The vehicle crashed into a building, coming to a halt. Minutes later, Kiran staggered to his feet, feeling the effects of the chaos weighing on him. "I'm gonna feel that later," he groaned, scanning the area to find the two thugs had vanished. With a sigh, he swung off.

On a rooftop high above the bustling streets of New York, Tombstone, squinted through a pair of binoculars, his focus locked on the gleaming facade of the Parker Industries Building. The sun was dipping below the skyline, casting a shadow over his plans. His men gathered around him, anxious, when one of them broke the silence. "Boss... the boys were interrupted by Spiderman." Tombstone's jaw clenched, the pulse of frustration evident.

"Damn. Then we strike tonight, and we'll do it strong and fast," he growled, determination lacing his words. Meanwhile, Kiran was in his room. He peeled off his costume, revealing a simple white shirt and shorts. The thrill of the chase still coursed through his veins. He eyed the syringe he had captured from a recent encounter with Tombstone's crew, a glint of uncertainty in his eyes. "Okay, time to figure out just what they're injecting in their bodies," Kiran muttered, his heart racing as he quickly tucked the syringe away in a secret spot. Just then, the door swung wide open, and Aunt May stormed in, her brow furrowed with concern. "Kiran, you ditched school? You're grounded, young man!" she declared, hands on her hips. "Oh man," Kiran thought.

Also I got an earth for Kiran's universe. Earth-3037.
