Ciara's POV
I didn't expect much more than a hospital bed, and that was exactly where I awoke. But what I hadn't expected was to see him.
It was Vulcan, slumbering quietly, his head bobbing up and down with each breath. I shot upright, the first words out of my mouth, "Where's Dante?"
He jolted awake with a snort, rubbing his eyes and nose. "Hmm? Oh, you're awake."
"Yes, I am. Why wouldn't I be? Where's Dante?" I asked, glancing around the room. That's when I noticed the IV attached to my arm and the tight bandage wrapped around my forehead.
As I reached up to touch the bandage, Vulcan let out a tired scoff. I rolled my eyes, trying to catch a better glimpse of the white cloth that restricted my head's movement. My hands felt around the bandage.
"Don't press too hard or it'll hurt," he warned.
