Chapter 3 - Chapter three

Three years, three fucking damn years. That's how long he had been looking for her. But she hid so well for an assassin.

She had tried to kill him and then tried to disappear but she was about to learn that no one tries to assassinate him and escape death. He had visited the club for a deal with one of the drug.dealers, the club was their base. He had at first being irritated by the fact he had been kept waiting but then he saw her moving so sensuously to the beat of the music, her black hair moving back and forth. He had a thing for black heads so when she turned to face him and crooked her fingers he went to her willingly.

He had been enchanted by her, his eyes fixed on hers as he made my way through the crowd. She pulled him closer, her body pressing against his, and he felt all his blood move downwards. She was reckless, unpredictable, and he was drawn to her like a moth to flame. His father was right about women, he hoped she wasn't the woman of the boss here because he wouldn't want to kill his newly gotten allies then he would make her his mistress.

She dragged him into a corner, her lips crashing against his in a sloppy kiss. He didn't want to get distracted by her but..., his gaze locked on hers, warning her of the danger she was courting.

"Why won't you kiss me?" she pouted, her voice husky and inviting.

Because he had other plans that would make her run from him.

"Because it's a dangerous game, Eden," he replied, my voice low and even.

"I want you," she said, her words laced with a hint of challenge.

"That's a dangerous thing to say," he warned, his eyes never leaving hers.

"Danger is my middle name... well, actually, it's Rose, but a little risk never hurt anyone... much. And I'm sure you take a lot of risks," she said, her eyes disturbingly familiar sparkled with mischief and too much alcohol. Her hand was straying close to his boner.

He stared at her intensely, his resolve weakening as he descended on her lips, his kiss possessive and demanding. She bit his tongue, and he moaned, the room around us melting away.

He was going to take her against this wall if he didn't stop, so he forced himself to stop and his grip on her hand tightening as he led her out of the club and into his car.

Matteo, his consigliere met up with him.

"We are about to meet with the boss, Cassio".

"Take care of it. They disrespected me by making me wait, show them what it means to disrespect a Don." Cassio said, closing the door and the driver sped off.

She had slipped into unconsciousness sprawled beside him and he saw a peek of red hair.

Red hair?

He carried her to his penthouse in the hotel, where she became conscious enough to vomit on herself.

No wonder his father warned him against women they were a handful.

His maid wasn't at home so he would have to do the cleaning up himself, he stripped her naked and put her under a warm shower and cleaned her up while she slipped in and out of consciousness calling him by another guy's name.

He was furious, here he was taking care of her mess and she was calling another guy's name.

When he tried to wash her hair, the black wig came off revealing the red color of her hair.

Scarlett.

No wonder her eyes had looked so familiar, he had been dancing with the woman that wanted to kill him. He had searched for her everywhere after the failed attempt on his life but here she was asleep in his bathtub.

He smiled as he caressed her cheeks, she had changed so much. She was going to pay for trying to kill him.

He carried to the bed and washed her mess off his body.

He was tired so he laid down on the bed beside her, she was no different from his other mistresses so of course he wouldn't sleep on the couch.

She was a hugger, and made sleep extremely hard for him. She put her legs in between his and wrapped her arm round his waist. She was pressing her naked chest on his body as he tried to remind himself that she was doing this unconsciously. He fell asleep to the scent of strawberries from her hair.

By the time he woke up she was long gone, along with his shirt. He saw a wad of cash on the bedside table and smirked. He hadn't anticipated a hunt like this in a long time.

He got up, prepared to catch a red haired prey when Matteo entered to report what had happened last night.

Cassio eyes met Matteo's, "What's the situation?" he asked, his voice firm.

Matteo's expression was grim. "It's not good, Cassio. The meeting with Victor didn't go as planned."

Cassio's brow furrowed. "What happened?"

Matteo hesitated, choosing his words carefully. "Victor got angry when you didn't show up. He felt disrespected, and... things escalated."

Cassio's eyes narrowed. "And?"

Matteo sighed. "A shootout ensued. Victor and his men... they didn't make it."

Cassio's expression turned glacial. "What about our men?"

Matteo shook his head. "We took losses, but we managed to gain control of the situation. And... we've taken over Victor's operations."

Cassio's gaze turned inward, his mind processing the news. "So, we've absorbed his business."

Matteo nodded. "Yes, but this changes things. We need to be prepared for repercussions."

Cassio's eyes snapped back into focus. "I want a meeting with all the captains. We need to discuss our next moves and secure our position."

Matteo nodded. "I'll arrange it. But, Cassio... we need to be careful. This move will attract attention."

Cassio's voice turned cold. "I'm aware of the risks, Marcus. But we can't show weakness. We need to assert our dominance."

Matteo bowed his head. "Understood, Cassio."

Cassio's gaze lingered on Matteo for a moment before he turned to leave. "Keep me informed of any developments. And, Matteo..."

Matteo looked up, his eyes locking onto Cassio's. "Yes?"

Cassio's voice was low and even. "Make sure our men are on high alert. I don't want any surprises."

Matteo nodded, his expression serious. "I'll make sure of it, Cassio. We'll be vigilant."

Cassio turned to leave, but paused at the door. "Matteo?"

"Yes, Cassio?"

"Make sure our men know that we won't be intimidated. We'll show no mercy to anyone who tries to challenge us."

Marcus's expression turned cold. "They'll know, Cassio. We'll make sure of it."

He nodded dismissing him as his mind was already turning to the next move. It was time for his revenge and anyone who got in his way would be dealt with swiftly and mercilessly.

The game was on, and Cassio was ready to play. But first, he had a little bird to catch.
