The morning sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. Birds chirped merrily outside, their cheerful songs a stark contrast to the peaceful slumber of the two figures tangled beneath the sheets.
Suzy stirred, her eyelids fluttering open. "Doris," she mumbled, her voice groggy with sleep. "Close the window. These annoying birds won't let me sleep."
There was no response. Suzy frowned, her sleepiness fading. She called again, "Doris!" her voice a little louder this time. Still, no answer.
With a groan, she opened her eyes fully, her gaze sweeping across the unfamiliar room. She remembered where she was – she wasn't in her room but in Ryan's room. She had to sleep two nights here as her punishment.
She shifted, her head rising and falling against something slightly hard and warm. She looked up and saw Ryan, shirtless, his muscles defined and toned, his chest rising and falling with each breath. He looked so peaceful, so vulnerable.
