Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: A Portal to His Failure

Jasper on the bed, with a tear rolling down his cheek, was lost in thought, staring at the ceiling. 'How could I enjoy this? Do I like being dominated by the weak? Am I into this shit, really?... And I even started moaning after some point!'

He covered his face with his hands in shame and continued to lie down.

After a while, he heard a knock at the castle door. Jasper's annoyance flared as he sensed the familiar presence outside.

"Mr. Shaw! I have more revolutionary products for you!" Mark's voice echoed through the castle gate.

Jasper wasted no time. With a swift teleportation spell, he appeared at the castle gate, lifting Mark by his collar effortlessly. His crimson eyes glowed menacingly as he spoke, "Do you know what I have been through because of your low-quality product?"

Mark stammered, "O-our products are the best in—"

"Then why did it suddenly stop working?" Jasper demanded, his voice icy.

"It's probably out of battery," Mark replied quickly.

"Battery?" Jasper's eyes narrowed. "Explain."

Mark took a deep breath, "It's our latest product. It works with a battery that lasts several days, but you need to charge it once in a while."

"Charge? How?" Jasper growled.

"Well, you need an electric socket, which I guess you don't have around here," Mark said hesitantly.

Jasper's expression softened slightly. "I do have electricity. Show me how."

Teleporting Mark and himself into the TV room, Jasper pointed to the TV on the ground. "Show me."

Mark's eyes widened in horror at the sight of the television with its cut opened. "Oh my poor product! What happened?"

"I only cut its shell to examine it. It shouldn't be damaged," Jasper said dismissively.

"But you cut through the screen part," Mark pointed out.

"If you had sold me a better product, this wouldn't have happened," Jasper retorted.

Mark, visibly trembling, quickly pulled a new television from his seemingly bottomless briefcase. "I can give you another one for free!"

Jasper accepted the new TV and asked, "How do I charge this thing?"

Mark cleared his throat and began explaining, "The TV comes with a battery pack that needs to be recharged periodically. To charge it, you need to connect it to an electrical outlet using this adapter." He pulled out a small charging cable with a plug on one end and a connector that fit the TV's charging port on the other.

"You simply insert the connector into the charging port here," Mark pointed to a small slot on the back of the TV, "and then plug the other end into an electrical socket."

Jasper examined the cable and the port, nodding slowly. "I see. And how long does it take to charge fully?"

"Usually, it takes a few hours to reach a full charge, and it should last for several days depending on your usage," Mark replied confidently.

Jasper's expression remained serious. "And if there are no electrical sockets nearby?"

"Well, in that case, you might need an alternative power source," Mark suggested. "A portable generator, perhaps, or even a solar panel system if you have access to sunlight."

Jasper considered this, then smirked. "What if I am the power source?" Without waiting for a response, he placed his hands on the charger and cast an electric spell.

A surge of electricity flowed from Jasper's hands into the TV. For a moment, it seemed to work, but then the TV started to smoke, the screen cracked, and it quickly burst into flames, burning to ashes within seconds.

Mark's eyes widened in panic. "What did you do?!"

Jasper's face darkened. "You said to give it electricity."

"Yes, but not that much!" Mark exclaimed, panic creeping into his voice. "It needs a controlled amount of electricity, like from an outlet, not some sort of magical surge!"

Jasper's anger flared. "So, it's my fault then?"

"No, no, of course not," Mark stammered. "It's all my fault. I'll give you another one for free." Quickly, he pulled out another TV from his briefcase.

Jasper accepted the replacement, still fuming. "How am I supposed to charge this one?"

Mark, desperate to avoid further disaster, explained, "You need to connect it to a stable power source. If you have electricity, you can use this adapter." He showed the cable again. "Otherwise, I can provide a portable generator or arrange for a solar panel system."

Jasper's interest was piqued again. "Tell me about these solar panels."

Mark explained, "Solar panels collect sunlight and convert it into electricity, which can then be used to charge the TV. It's an efficient and renewable power source."

Jasper nodded thoughtfully. "Very well. Bring me a solar panel system."

Mark sighed in relief, sensing a sale. "I'll arrange for it right away. It will take a bit longer to deliver, but it will be worth the wait."

Jasper summoned a chest filled with gold coins. "Is this enough?"

Mark's eyes gleamed. "More than enough, Mr. Shaw! I'll ensure the delivery is expedited."

As Mark left the castle, Jasper settled back, eager to resume his viewing. His mind wandered, contemplating how Mark managed to come so close to the castle without being sensed. 'I wonder how he does it...'

--------------

After some time, while watching something, Jasper noticed the absence of a feeling he had last time. A warmth, perhaps, that should have been near to his chest... for a moment, he thought he saw Raven, and suddenly he blinded by something...

Meanwhile, in the distance from his castle, the air started trembling. Jasper sensed a divine power, and soon after, a brilliant yellow portal opened, shining like the sun. Humans began to invade, their eyes bearing identical scars.

The light from the portal illuminated Jasper's room completely and burned his skin. The walls of the castle and the surrounding objects turned into blood, healing him. He stood up and looked in the direction of the light.

Realizing what it was, Jasper set a barrier around the area to prevent them from escaping. He flew there, stood outside the barrier, and spoke to the people. "Why are you here... Actually no, how are you here?"

They all answered at the same time, as if they were the same person: "You! You made me like this!"

Jasper, who had tested one of his liquids in another world, recognized the situation. The person who gained the power to control everyone in his world had appeared, bringing chaos.

Jasper remained nonchalant. "Your fault for not being able to control yourself. I merely gave you the power to seize people. Your greed caused you to lose your mind."

The voice grew more frantic and deranged, echoing through every individual. "I WILL CONSUME YOU, JASPER! I WILL CONSUME EVERYTHING! YOU! YOU! YOU MADE ME THIS MONSTER!"

"No, you made yourself a monster..."

Jasper's voice was cold and unfeeling. "While giving your last breath, you asked for power, you asked for revenge, and all I did was answer. Your inability to handle power is your own downfall."

The people from the portal continued to press against the barrier, their bodies crushing each other. The screams intensified as they were squeezed to death, turning into a pool of blood, organs, and bones. More kept coming, their voices merging into a single, insane cacophony:

"IT HURTS! MAKE IT STOP! WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME? I'LL DESTROY YOU!"

"Now you ask for help again..."

"I WOULD RATHER BE DEAD! WHY DID YOU HELP ME BACK THEN!"

"Now it's my fault for giving you what you wanted, huh?"

Realizing the endless cycle of suffering, Jasper's expression remained indifferent. He watched as the mass of bodies piled up, their desperate pleas growing more chaotic and frenzied.

"RELEASE MEE!!!!" they screamed in anger.

"Now you want freedom? You're beyond saving. Your suffering is endless because you cannot control your greed," Jasper said, his tone unyielding.

"Your power has turned you into a parasite," the unison voice shrieked. "You will regret this, Jasper. I WILL CONSUME YOU!"

"Regret? You brought this upon yourself," Jasper replied with a dismissive wave of his hand.

"HELP ME! KILL ME! DO SOMETHING!" the voices begged, desperation thick in their tone.

"I can't kill you there are billions of you" Jasper replied, his voice void of empathy. "You would destroy this world too. Your suffering is of your own making. Besides, that portal looks like some divine being's work. I don't know how to close it."

"THEN BREAK THIS BARRIER!!"

"Budy... Are you even listening?" Jasper said with a sighed.

As Jasper was about to leave, he saw Asmodeus approaching from the sky...
