Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Dad?

*??? Centuries Ago*

Little Jasper looked at his father with emotionless eyes in his dark room, his father's physical appearance an identical copy of the current Jasper.

His father got down on his knees and put one hand on Jasper's shoulder and then said,

''Son, I may not survive this war. If I die, I don't want you to join the war, even though you have the most potential among your brothers. You are smart beyond your potential, you should use your intelligence to make peace Jasper, okay?''

Jasper said with bored eyes,

"Okay''

His father took out a small red orb and brought it close to Jasper's forehead. The orb became transparent and his father inserted it into Jasper's forehead and then said,

''If one day you ever fall into despair and look for answers, think of me. Inside this orb is a part of me, I hope I can help you find answers when the time comes...''

Jasper nodded, his father petted his head and left the room

*Today*

'Dad? So that's what you looked like...' Jasper thought.

The boy was dragging his father out at that moment.

A voice echoed in Jasper's mind,

'So you finally needed my help!'

Jasper looked left and right and tried to sense the source of the sound, there was nothing alive nearby except the boy. Jasper thought,

'Who are you?'

A deep and smug voice echoed in his mind,

'Haha, I'm your father!'

'Really? Does anyone actually still use that joke, what are you? a fossil'

The voice paused and said,

'E-ehm, I'm really your father Jasper have you forgotten even my voice?'

Jasper said hitting his head,

'Really, what the fuck are you doing in my head? Didn't you die a few centuries ago?

'Do you remember the orb I gave you? I told you to think of me whenever you needed help. I honestly thought you would be a child when you called me, how come you never thought of me or needed my help until you were this old, heartless brat'

'Who said I need your help? And get out of my head, I feel like an idiot talking to himself'

'What do you mean you don't need help? Ehm... to be honest I can't leave without solving one of your problems'

'Ahh you really are a headache even after your death, dad! Hmm, at least I have to get you out of my head'

'How would you do that?'

Jasper teleported into the room with the golems sitting at the chess table. Rather than playing chess, the golems were eating the chess pieces and making noises as they did so,

*AM! AM AM! AM AM AM AM AM!…*

Satoshi looked at the two golems and said,

"Hey two stupid piece of rocks''

The golems stopped eating and looked at Jasper and one of them said,

"Aba?''

''I'm busy in this room, you two go and observe the boy downstairs. When he buries his father and leaves, dig up his father's body and bring it to me. Even though he was human, his blood didn't smell so bad, I can use it in my experiments.''

The Golem turned his head to the side as if he didn't understand anything and said,

"Abaaa?''

Jasper sighed and said,

''Watch the child, the child leave, you dig up what the child buried and bring it to me. Understood?''

The golems gave Jasper a military salute and left the room.

Jasper went to work at a table with klay and tools. His father asked,

'What are you doing'

'New body for you, it is getting annoying to talk to myself like a lunatic'

'Haha, what the hell are you talking about, boy?'

Jasper yelled angrily, "Ahh shut up, I need to focus!''

His father fell silent and Jasper went back to work, after a few minutes of hand work Jasper had made a body that looked just like the golems he had just sent. He held it up and looked at it and said,

"Heh, I guess that'll do.''

Jasper suddenly pierced his own forehead with his hand, blood spilling violently onto the floor. He rummaged inside of his head for a while and then said,

"Gotcha!''

When he took his hand out of his head, he had a red orb covered with his blood. After he cleaned the orb he placed it on the golem's head and said,

"It's over! Hey, old man, talk to me!''

Meanwhile, the wound on Jasper's forehead had already healed. The golem started talking,

"Aba aba? ABA ABA ABA ABA!!!''

Only Jasper could understand what the golems were actually saying, so we will hear what the golem said from Jasper's point of view,

"I can talk? WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU PUT ME IN!''

Jasper said with a smug smile,

''Hehe, it worked! Be a little more grateful old man, I even made you a body for the short time you'll be here to assist me!''

His father looked at the golem body and said disappointedly,

"Was that really the best you could do?''

''Hey, I'm not skilled at Alchemy. I'm trying to create an intelligent life form, but my most successful creation was these stupid golems.''

His father sighed and said,

''I guess it's better than nothing... so you still haven't thought of anything I can help you with?''

''What if I don't ask anything?''

''I'm made with part of your father's mana cell, eventually the mana will run out and I'll disappear, so can't you think of anything your father can advise you, before disappears?''

Jasper put a finger to his chin and thought,

''Hmm, now that you mention it, I actually thought of something, something about an elf girl-''

"Hey, aren't you too old for love advice?''

"Who said love to you, shut up and let me finish''

"Wow, there's really no trace of that emotionless boy left, only angry man... Anyway, I'm listening son''

"It will be faster if I show you than tell you so follow me''

Jasper went to the alchemy room and cut off the tip of his finger and dripped his blood on the carpet. The memory he and the elf had shared played out in front of them, and after watching everything, Jasper asked to his father.

''Did you see? We had a deal, but she still hasn't arrived after more than two weeks.''

His father said with a surprised expression, "Wow! That's really impressive.''

Jasper smugly pointed to the carpet and said, "It really is, isn't it? I made it myself and it can bring back every memory that's happened on it!''

His father said disappointedly, "I'm not talking about that, how come you haven't learned how to talk to women by this age?''

"What's that got to do with talking to women? We made a deal and she didn't fulfill it.''

''What kind of woman would go along with someone who compliments her breasts on the first meeting and won't let her talk?''

''Ehm, all of them? In my glorious days they used to line up to get compliments from me. And don't judge me, I haven't spoken to anyone for the last 300 years, okay?

''I don't see much glory in someone who has spent the last three hundred years without leaving his castle!''

''Hey, you were probably younger than me when you died, okay? You don't understand what happens when you have nothing left to do.''

"Oh, I'm sorry, I don't think you want my advice, grandpa''

"Okay, calm down, what do you suggest me to do? Tell me''

''Hmm, since you're just doing business, an apology and a small gift should be enough''

"Apologize? Me? Who do you think I am?''

"'Someone that hasn't left his castle in the last 300 years?'

''You got a point there. So what am I supposed to get him?

"Assuming you don't know her very well, you can go with classics and maybe buy some flowers.''

''She's an elf... Elf!''

''So what?''

''Never mind, but you gave me an idea... let's do some alchemy huh''

At that moment the golems brought the dead man's body inside. They looked at Jasper as if expecting praise, Jasper said angrily,

''What's all this dirt on him, clean it off!''

The Golems' faces fell and they started eating the dirt on the corpse,

*Am am am am am am...*

Jasper pointed at one of the golems and said, "When you're done, you go hunt slime for me.''

He pointed to the other one and continued, "And you go hunt silverbane cubs.''

The golems nodded as they continued to eat.

Jasper turned to his father and said,

''About the apology... I don't think I can do that''

"Why would it hurt your precious ego?''

"Dad, you don't have mercy in your words but yes it would hurt my precious ego''

"Hmm, how about writing a letter of apology? I guess you can do that much.''

''I think that might work.''
