"I remember that," I groaned, waking up just in time to hear what Liu Yu Zeng had said. He was indeed correct. This person pretended to be our friend but ultimately aimed to exploit us. That doesn't qualify as a true friend in my book. Then again, having no real friends myself, perhaps I wasn't the best judge.
"What are you all up to?" I asked, making no attempt to extricate myself from Chen Zi Han's embrace—I was far too cozy.
"We're just going over a few details," replied Wang Chao as he walked over and squatted down to assess whether I was alright.
"What sort of details?" I was puzzled. I hadn't quite planned out what to do with this base. After some contemplation, I had come up with some sort of strategy.
"How the base should be managed," he returned with a nonchalant shrug.
At that, my eyebrows arched. "You're staying behind?" That was unexpected. I had figured we'd all stick together, but if he chose to remain here and assume command, that was his prerogative.
