Chapter 1 - Ch 0: Prologue

VOLUME 1: Tale of a Sage

In the rugged expanse of the northern lands, where towering fjords met the churning sea, lived a child named Rudolf. His family resided in a humble wooden cabin on the outskirts of a small village, nestled among ancient pine forests and rolling hills. The harsh winters and short summers shaped the villagers' lives, demanding resilience and unity in the face of nature's unforgiving elements.

Rudolf's family, like many others, struggled to make a living from the rocky soil and unpredictable fishing waters. His parents labored tirelessly, their hands calloused from years of toil. Despite the hardships, the village thrived on a sense of community and shared purpose, with each day marked by the rhythm of work and the warmth of evening firesides.

One crisp autumn afternoon, while exploring the dense woods near his home, Rudolf stumbled upon an old, moss-covered stone archway. It stood partially hidden by ivy and fallen leaves, as if forgotten by time itself. Intrigued, Leif pushed aside the foliage and stepped through the archway, finding himself in a small, secluded glade.

At the center of the glade stood a weathered wooden building, its windows dimly illuminated by the soft glow of lanterns. A simple sign above the door read, "The Whispering Library." Leif's heart pounded with anticipation as he entered, the door creaking softly behind him.

Inside, the library was a sanctuary of stories and legends, its shelves lined not with dense historical tomes but with beautifully illustrated children's books and tales of mythical figures. The scent of pine and aged parchment filled the air, and the flickering light from the lanterns cast dancing shadows on the walls.

Rudolf's eyes widened as he selected a book with intricate carvings on its cover. He settled into a cozy corner, and as he began to read, the world outside seemed to melt away. The stories transported him to realms of daring heroes, enchanted forests, and ancient magic, each tale igniting his imagination and filling him with wonder.

In that hidden library, Leif discovered a refuge from the hardships of his daily life and a portal to worlds where anything was possible. Unbeknownst to him, this unexpected discovery would set him on a journey that would decide his destiny, proving that even in the most remote and unexpected places, fate could weave its threads and spark a fire of hope and adventure in the heart of a child.
