Chapter 39 - Local Medieval Knight Attempting 'Matrix' Moves Against Armed Florida Man Dies from Blood Loss
Despite being 200 meters away, these knights sprinted faster than Usain Bolt. One charged directly at Felix while the other ran to the sides, attempting to flank him. Despite their agility, they still took more than five seconds to reach him. This gave Felix enough time to switch weapons and take aim.
The first target was the knight running in a straight line, now 50 meters away.

Unlike the rifle, the shotgun packed more power, especially high-velocity shells. The slug bullet hit the aura knight's stomach and cracked his plate mail.
The knight also felt the impact as he bent forward, flinching. However, he was not dead yet.
Felix narrowed his eyes and strengthened his index finger, repeatedly pulling the trigger four times in a row.
The first bullet found the crown of the knight. The armor caved in from the impact and rocked the man.
The second bullet hit the facial cover of the helmet, shattering it and finding soft tissues of human skin.
The third also broke the remaining thin layer of the knight's face mask, punching through his upper mouth and destroying his throat.
The fourth finished the job, causing a gaping hole in his right eye and destroying a portion of his brain.
After downing the first aura knight, Felix rotated the chamber, queuing five fresh cartridges. He kicked the ground and ran backward as two more aura knights were about to flank him from both sides.
At that moment, the combat mage roared. Rocks and soil from the ground condensed around him, transforming him into a giant golem. He leaped ahead and threw a punch at another aura knight, who had been attempting to flank Felix's right side.
The knight roared back.
"EARTH MAGE WEAKLING LIKE YOU IS NO MATCH FOR ME!"
His green aura covered his sword as he slashed the golem. However, it got stuck at the golem's chest, which exuded mana gas and created a layer of barrier around it.
Because of the golem, one of the knights got entangled. This left only one knight for Felix to handle.
"NICE!" Felix laughed and shifted his attention to the remaining enemy.
The guy was faster than the previous man. Instantly, he was already in front of Felix.
The knight thrust his sword forward, aiming at Felix's chest.
Learned from the famous movie, Felix leaned backward and put his weight on his back, dropping to the ground. The sword grazed his chest and cut his chin, leaving an inch-wide wound.

The quiet Tavor TS12 in Felix's hands unleashed five slug bullets, hitting the man's chest plate. The sheer power of the shotgun cracked the plate mail and knocked the knight backward.
The knight stumbled five steps back and got back to his feet. He looked at his chest, sensing a few rips broken. He also coughed blood as one of his lungs ruptured.
Felix sat up and rotated the magazine tube. He pulled the trigger again.
The knight reacted to the motion. He bellowed and created a layer of green wall in front of him, serving as his shield.
*WHOOSH*
*WHOOSH*
*WHOOSH*
*WHOOSH*
*WHOOSH*
As if the knight had become the One, all five slug bullets were frozen in midair when they hit the green wall.
"Dafuq?! Is he from the Matrix?!"
Felix got back on his feet and switched back to FN SCAR instead of reloading his shotgun as it was too time-consuming in close combat. Changing a new magazine for the rifle, he kicked the ground and ran to the side, getting a better angle to shoot at the knight as the green wall was on the way.
The knight panted as the aura shield consumed a lot of his stamina. The five bullet heads in midair dropped on the ground as he turned around to face Felix, controlling the wall to follow him.
Seeing the knight stop chasing him, Felix switched back to the shotgun and seized the opportunity to reload. While skipping backward 10 steps, Felix inserted two slug shells, two buckshots, and one incendiary shell into the magazine tube. Rotating it, the gun was ready to fire again.
The knight also realized that Felix started running away, he dispelled the aura shield and kicked the ground, chasing after Felix again.
Meanwhile, Felix was calmly inserting three random shotgun shells in another empty magazine tube. Noticing the pursuer, Felix spammed the trigger.
The knight was smart. As soon as he saw Felix's finger move, he activated his skill, creating the aura shield again.
Unlike the last time, the bullets were different. Two slug bullets came out first and were stopped by the Matrix-like wall. The third and fourth, however, scattered small balls all over.
"!!!"
The knight's face turned ugly as every time his aura shield stopped something, his stamina dropped by a notch. At the moment, he was as exhausted as a marathon runner on his last sprint.
Consumed 90% of his stamina and energy, the knight's aura vanished. The bullets also dropped on the ground.
That was when the nasty bullet arrived. An incendiary round pierced through the cracks in his armor and sank into his flesh. The heated bullet head started burning!
"AAAAAHHHH!!"
The burning bullet was as torturous as the medieval fire arrows. The knight wailed in pain for five seconds before his brain shut down because of the excruciating pain.
Two aura knights down!
Felix gulped as the fight was more difficult than the last time. In a hurry, he reloaded the shotgun magazines and ran back to assist the combat mage and Sinnet.
While running, Felix asked Jessica.
"Do supermen exist in medieval times?!"
"…"
Felix took a mental note. Once he went back, he would resume the main quest, which was to locate an oil deposit. For the moment, he had to survive.
…
After Felix took down the third knight, the other side's battles were also concluded. The combat mage and the other knight both lay in the pool of their own blood, with one's head crushed by a stone fist while the golem master got a sword inside his chest.
When Felix arrived, he bit his lower lip and looked at his comrade. He thought of the time they were briefly together.
'…Unlucky. What about the others?'
Felix switched back to FN SCAR and checked the men through the scope. However, he no longer saw Sinnet and his team.
Confused, Felix checked the system map.
Green dots already made their way south while hundreds of red dots pursued them. From their movements, Felix figured that they already ditched him and this dead mage.
'Dammit. Ditching me in the forest?'
Frustrated, Felix stored the dead comrade in his inventory. He also looted the two dead knights, converting them into mana.
Then, Jessica gave him a surprising result.
